  1. Akemi observed the young spellcaster's expressions as she provided her feedback. He seemed to not be told so bluntly how he's doing, which would prove interesting. Criticism was a part of life, magic or not. But as she prepared herself for this endeavor, she cracked her knuckles out of a nervous habit. As he began spell casting, she took note in the second's change and improvement in the effectiveness in the binding spell. Surprised, she got up and dusted off herself before moving forward to check on him.

"Hm. Not bad, that was a decent amount. Of course, this spell is elementary, so this is like, a base comparison. Not bad though, take a rest." she tossed him a water bottle. "We can start improving with this spell, build your stamina with it. Overtime, I can teach you proper elemental manipulation." She was impressed in his casting, though; she didn't expect him to come this far already. But it gave her a good insight into his skill and was excited to see his improvement.

  2. Akemi felt her body bind tightly, the signature feeling of a binding spell as she fell over. "Ow- oof." she felt her back hit the ground and she coughed. "Should've anticipated it more," she said as she could feel the squeezing subside. It wasn't bad for a first attempt, but nonetheless, due to his inexperience in spell casting it didn't last long and she got up, brushing herself off. "Not bad, not bad," she acknowledged, putting a hand on her hip as she looked him up and down. "It shows you have experience with some magic, but not enough to be considered decent, unfortunately," she said bluntly, but softened up as she twirled her hair around her finger. "But nonetheless, you have a lot of potential. Nice work."

The spellcaster tapped her chin. "Would you mind casting that spell over and over until you feel tired? I'm fine with being your training dummy, the best way to learn is experience, after all." she fiddled with her hair again, not meeting his gaze out of nervousness. "I need to see what your stamina is already, so I can help you accordingly." She didn't expect him to last long, but if he had been training in Mist manipulation, he'd definitely have a decent amount of energy in him.

  4. She was surprised by his embrace, and his touch only made her feel a bit more guilty. "Hm?" she said, surprised as she looked at him, kind of dazed from his sudden touch. "Ah, calm yourself, I missed you plenty!" she said, ruffling his curls with her hands. Truth be told, she was a little sad to see him, because what she had planned today could define the rest of their budding relationship. She laughed at his suspicion, finding it amusing.

"Don't squint your eyes, you're hiding how pretty they are," she whispered, squeezing his hand in return, but smiling at the prospect of hanging out with him. "Oh? Have I finally caught a bit of sunlight for myself?" tilting her head, she rocked to her tippy toes to stare at his face. "What do you have in mind, sunshine?"

  5. Akemi just gave a smile as she watched Evelyn flip out at the pictures and information she had provided. She always took pride in her work, regardless if it was good or bad. She was just glad she could satisfy her client. "Your prank worked well enough," Akemi said, taking her lollipop out of her mouth, "That I could get this. I wish I could've gotten more, but sometimes I have to settle for a mediocre amount with them being so...fickle."

She smiled at the Aphrodite camper as she crossed her arms, cocking her head to the side as Evelyn stated how eager she was to provide what she wanted. Perfect.

"Oh? What I want?" she smiled, partially dark, her mind flooding with some malicious prospects. But for the most part, she had a harmless thing in mind. But for now, she didn't want to demand the favor straightaway, so she just pulled her lollipop out of her mouth and pointed it at Evelyn. "I'll get back to you on that. All you owe me is a favor in the future."

  6. The intrepid child of Hecate had been left to her own devices in the lack of Elijah's presence. She had been...more into her malicious activities lately. Akemi recounted what she had gathered thus far, mentally filing new gossip and information on certain campers, from incidents with mortals...Her hands were never clean, not just with blood, but with strife and discord throughout. She couldn't help but recall the look on people's faces as she betrayed them. The sting, the cold blooded nature...it thrilled her.

And now to bother her new victim. Or so she told herself, fighting that burning feeling she felt for him. His smile still sent her heart into a thousand spectral flutters, and she couldn't get rid of it, kill it, no matter what she did. She was bracing for a painful betrayal.

"Hey there, sunshine," she said, leaning against the stable as he approached, her hair done up in a simple ponytail, as opposed to the bangs covering her face, "You miss me?

  7. Akemi gave a small smile as she listened to his questions. He was- endearing, to say the least. Eager, most definitely, and she could deal with that. Wasn't nearly as bad as rejecting her lessons entirely, and she was willing to teach him what she knew. It was by no means perfect, but she knew her stuff, and she always wanted an apprentice.

She dusted her hands by swiping them together, making slight clapping noises as she crossed her arms. "Human targets are easiest. That's who the spell is meant for. At first, your spell will be weak, only lasting for a few seconds. Think of it as... like a rubber band." she conjured one into being with a simple phrase, stretching it between her fingers, "When your spell is first cast, your pull is weak, and it can easily snap," the band snapped between her fingers to prove her point. "The stronger you get, the more control your pull is, and sooner or later," she released the rubber band in example, "You can control it entirely. In other words, you won't be easily able to hold me in a binding spell for long...it takes practice. Now, try it on me. If the word is similar to 'bind' or 'trap' or 'ensnare' in anyway, Greek or Latin, it should work."

  8. She had a contented smile on her face, slowly forming into that cool smirk she always wore on her face. "Go handle what you must, I'll be here, as always," the shadows came circling around her heels, like a pet to its master. Her head was in a daze, and she reached out to him to swipe the red lipstick that had now stained his lips.  "Shall we meet up again sometime? I promise you, you'll see me slowly blossom from a ghost to somewhat of a flower, hm?"

Akemi messed with his curls once more. "But until then, I'll await for you here." she could feel her cheeks warm when she said that. Her eyes avoided his as she drew closer to him, drawing him in a hug. He smelled like sun to her, all things comforting. But her heart ached with the prospect that soon, she remembered her purpose. His value to her was slowly getting closer to being nothing, but nonetheless...

Why didn't she want to let go?

  9. "...Warm. Safe." she replied, touching her lips briefly for a moment after they pulled away. It felt electrifying in that moment, as if she had mastered the art of stopping time. "I think I truly understand the meaning now, of the- of the phrase 'sunkissed.'" she exhaled and looked away for a moment, then back up at him. "Your lips are kind of red now," she pointed out, brushing them with her thumb. "It's uneven." she didn't say anything else, but brought her face slightly closer once more. "Better fix that," she said, her tone low, slightly flirty, as he dared him to make a move.

She didn't know how well he'd take this, but her lips were tingling for one more, addictive kiss. It was a dangerous move, to be sure. At this rate, she probably wouldn't stop, and to her, in that moment, she didn't care.

Her target had been acquired. And he would be hers, she'd be sure with it. All she needed...

    Was time.

  10. She looked back over to him, surprised at his understanding. "I'd be willing to give you this moment now." she said quietly, embarrassed once more, looking up at him. "If you'd like." She was implying that she'd let him have their moment that was so dutifully stolen by the forces of nature, but she didn't know if he'd accept. "I'm willing to- to let you. I kind of want it to." Akemi didn't falter in his gaze for once, that soft confidence returning slowly.

Pulling him forward, she looked up at him, flicking downwards for a brief moment before meeting his gaze. She wondered how he'd take this invitation. Hopefully well. If not, she'd let the shadows swallow her and drag her back to her bed for the next six weeks.

"Just this once. Just this one day, one moment. From here-" she felt a soreness in her throat from nervousness. "I- we- will be figuring things out? If that's okay?"

  11. She gave a small chuckle laced with sadness, squeezing his hand gently for a moment before looking away. "I've liked you for years, but nonetheless..." she turned back to face him, rubbing his hand with her thumb. "But...don't- don't take that leap yet. I'm warning you. Not with me." she met his gaze, albeit with heavy sadness in her eyes, something stirring in her stomach like the shadows having a freak out in the corner. She gave an internal eyeroll at that.

"I-I'm not- ready? For this?" she gestured to them both, their joined hands, but she squeezed gently so he didn't let go. "I'm not relationship or even friendship material in the slightest if you know what I'm really like, sunshine." she said his nickname softly, as if urging him to say no. "But I can't really let this moment go now, and I can't say yes, so can we just-" she sighed, frustrated with her usually eloquent words falling in a messy heap. "Can I get back to you on it?" Oof. She didn't expect it to come out like that. Embarrassed, her cheeks lit up in the same shade as her lips as she looked away, letting her hair cover her face. So much for trying to say no and yes at the same time.
