  1. Akemi was by no means a very experienced dancer, but nonetheless she had a grace in her step, letting him lead through the dance. She smiled briefly the whole time, only tripping on her feet once, but quickly recovered within mere seconds as she pulled closer into him. Her gaze was rested on him even near the end of the song, bringing herself closer to him. Her eyes met his, and she could feel her pulse quicken once more as their faces grew closer, too nervous to pull him the rest of the way to her waiting, trembling lips.

But the wind startled even her, causing her gaze to shift back and forth between him, between the dirt, but nonetheless, she recovered and looked up, her cool façade returning again, with a hint of softness. She ran a hand through her hair, giving him a sympathetic smile. "No, no, it's okay." she reached for his hand without thinking. "It's okay."

  2. "I think I shall," she said with a small smile, but when he began listing off music, she just nodded every time he listed the artist. "Yeah, along with Green Day, sometimes Chase Atlantic..." she trailed off, trying to think of other artists from the top of her head, but moved her lips into a pout when she couldn't think anymore. She was pleased to hear that, but then when he mentioned an mp3 player, she thought for a moment, rummaging in her jacket pockets, then gasped and pulled out a small mp3 player.

"I bring this with me whenever I choose to people watch," she said, fumbling it for a moment before showing it to him. "Creates good ambiance and background noise." Lots of the artists she mentioned on there were there, but she stopped when she saw a particular song, showing it to him, and standing up. "Would you- care to dance?" she asked, holding her hand out. "I know it's sudden, but it doesn't hurt to ask, right?" she held her breath, hoping he'd accept.

[GM rights to you to choose the song and if they dance!]

  3. She was already flustered by the comment, her words always blunt, so she said the first things that came to her mind, but nonetheless rebounded with that compliment. Akemi did thoroughly enjoy his voice though, it calmed her. She recognized the song, and quietly sang along. Her voice was by no means as good as an Apollo kid, but she wasn't exactly tone deaf either. Despite this, she let the fire disperse into glittering, twinkling sparks fading from fiery orange, to radiant, bright gold, and crimson red as she blew them away with a gentle breath into the biting wind.

Akemi perked up at the sound of him talking about music and her eyes lit up. She loved listening to music, even having her own playlist, and smiled warmly. "I kind of love Coldplay," she said, running her fingers through her hair. "As well as anything with some heavy bass and guitar. Anything more- dark, if that makes sense, hehe..." she twiddled with her thumbs.

Gods, was now going to be the time she went all shy? It was more of her true nature, a shy, happy girl that got cheery and kind around others when they got to know her a bit. She felt her face a bit warm, and if he asked, she would attribute it to the stinging cold at her cheeks. "I like anything alt, and anything from the 80s and 90s...but I like dancing a bit more. Haven't...really done it, though, so I'm not good at it at all."

  4. "You seem to be startled." Akemi was standing right behind him, her jacket's hood flipped up, casting a shadow over her eyes. "Sorry," she said lightly, so calmly that it seemed she wasn't sorry at all, "I could feel your aura from a half-mile away, not that that's a bad thing, but," she twirled her hair as she addressed him, interested in the guy, "As a child of magic, its hard to ignore when its that intense. So I got curious to see who would come along," she averted her eyes, the green tint glinting in the light. No was she would say he was stalking him. She didn't expect him to ask her name, so she kept the interaction light for now.

"You radiate fear," she stated bluntly, looking up at him, "That would scare others. All it does is intrigue me, though. You're interesting." her words were straightforward, but she had a look of curiosity on her face, as if she was impressed with him.

  5. Akemi shook his hand back, and grinned. "I have a good spell to teach you at first. Here," she eased him gently towards the couch, placing him in front of it after the cookie had been consumed, pointing her hand at him. She knew it was sudden, but she hoped to have at least something for him to get excited for and ready for the future days of training, something of a preview.

"Ligare, she recited, with a snap of her fingers. A full body bind spell. It was very simple to cast, in fact, it would've been even harder to cast one that was specified to one part of someone's body. But the effects could be immediate, or delayed by a few seconds. "It's up to you if you choose to cast it in Greek or Latin, but that's a basic spell. A full body bindConsider it a preview what is to come. A spell is very easy to cast, you just need the translation of the action you want to do, expressed in words, and your mind concentrated on your target. Harder spells require more clear, focused minds, however, so be wise with it."

Akemi was curious about the fact Shadow was mentoring him, thinking about it as she released him from the spell, apologizing for him as a fast target. She didn't know why, but it felt off that he was teaching him such...advanced manipulation at first. She remembered hearing that a spellcaster's first use and practice of magic was the manipulation of the elements and physical objects, such as levitation...it was odd that he would choose that, it didn't feel right.

But she ignored it for now. Her priority was teaching her sibling.

  6. "Hmmmm...sing your favorite one, I'd suppose?" the spellcaster had a coy smile. "Your voice is rather hot, by the way." she cheekily added, flicking his curls. "You sing like the sunrise. Don't ask how that relates to anything." she sighed and sat back on the grass in a more relaxed position, kicking her legs over one another. "it's pleasant to hear, lovely to see, but not for long, since it physically hurts." she chuckled to herself as she hummed to that song, it now stuck in her head.

"Do you enjoy singing because you're an Apollo kid? Or did you always just- like it?" she thought about her own hobbies as that question left her lips, the wind blowing past her, her leather jacket offering little warmth and protection to the chill. She shivered for a brief moment, but she treated it as normal as she conjured a fire and had it hover between them.

  7. Early in the fresh, autumnal season, the camp's resident ghost girl had acquired herself a new person of interest: Gael. Gael Masterson. Last time she had laid eyes on him, he was at the volleyball game. Of course, the child of Hecate didn't really expect, nor anticipate the guy o know her at all; but she wanted to get to know the guy. His aura radiated fear, but that only drew Akemi closer to him. She was curious why so, and despite his fearful, freaky nature, all Akemi saw was a potential frie- or, a potential source of information.

Really? she had thought to herself, hiding along the route the guy usually took, concealing her presence with magic. Remember, Akemi, you're not here to make friends, you're here to get information about- she cut herself off from thinking. Sure, she lived for the chase and rush of adventure, but was it really necessary once more to keep breaking hearts and friendships for this?

She thought back to people who she had betrayed, stabbed in the back, so hurt that she hadn't seen them since she did that, years ago even. Her dark red lips curled into a brief smile at that, the feeling of stinging words hitting the back of her throat, quickly faltering as she heard passing footsteps. There he was. @ Gael Masterson

  8. "Oh, Duratus is Latin for freeze. By saying an incantation in Ancient Greek or Latin, you can cast simple spells. I prefer Latin because it seems less people understand it here. Better for fights." she smiled as she noted his accomplishments, impressed. "Hm...Mist Manipulation, not sure I'm familiar with it entirely. Didn't even know it existed till a few days ago." a lightbulb went off in her head as she thought about something. "Elemental manipulation isn't difficult, per se, it's more so taxing on your body, and mind. Casting too many spells can lead you to fatigue, extreme nausea, muscle aches, etc. But nonetheless, with enough stamina practice, and experience, you could cast many, more offensive spells. The Mist depends on your mind," she placed a finger on his forehead gently. "Elemental manipulation requires both the body and mind.

She smiled at his rapid questions. "You seem curious about it all, I'm happy to teach you. It won't be easy at first, but you can work with me and I can teach you more upfront, offensive magic. Our powers, the ones we share, are limited to only our imagination, as well as our physical strength." she whispered something in Latin once more, conjuring a simple chocolate chip cookie. Real, and formidable. She broke it in half and handed the bigger side to him.

"On one condition. All I ask is that we become friends."

  9. Akemi let her shadows gather once more. "Oh?" she said, looking at her magic, then up at her sibling, twirling her hair with her finger. "How do I explain it... Umbrakinesis," she started slowly, letting the silky black ribbons of the night vanish once more, "Is a rare ability. For children of Hecate. I was born with it, I am unsure why, perhaps by chance, fate, I'm not sure," she shrugged. "But nonetheless, it's just- an instinct I was born with. I was just in sixth grade when I figured this out. The shadows felt my need to be invisible, and thus...I heard them calling to me." she let the shadows curl around her hand and fingers again, smiling.

"Many children of the dark, like Hades, Nyx, have a more jurisdiction over the shadows, so they can command it as they please. For Hecate children, it's more like...how do I put this...a symbiotic relationship." she beckoned the shadows to hover in front of Asher, like a curious little cloud. "Respect the dark, and shall it serve you. That's how you could probably learn this magic. It takes a lot of time, however."

    biography

Jung-dae, also known as DAE, was a k-pop idol, big in Korea in the early 90s. He was a natural heartthrob and always loved to sleep around with women, often getting his way with them, but was a charmer and bedded many women due to his status. One of these particular women was special, meeting her backstage after a performance in the US. She had an air of mystery and amorous charm around her, and after some sweet talk backstage, they had a passionate one night stand in his suite, and he never saw her again. Of course, the man continued his tour, but when he returned home a couple months later in his hometown of Seoul, South Korea, a beautiful baby girl was waiting for him in the arms of that very woman.

She told him that her name was Aphrodite, goddess of love, and that the child was his. She informed him about a camp in America, and that when the time was right, and before she turned 13, she would have to be claimed by her.

Jung-dae was so shocked by this, he fainted. But nonetheless, when he woke up, the baby was waiting for him, and so he swallowed his fear, calmed his shaky nerves, and packed up his bags to move to the US. He retired from his stellar, glitzy life, to settle down in a fancy house in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He didn't want any bad karma from this incident, so he did what she asked...to the barest extent.

However, her father wasn't very attentive, still chasing that partying lifestyle and not really having time for his daughter, and her care was left in the hands of a housekeeper who taught her how to fight, how to defend herself. She had been bullied at school for her Korean heritage, as she spoke Korean primarily at home and was too timid to speak English at her school, which led to her language skills developed slower. However, in her youth, she very quickly learned that her words, whenever she spoke them, had big effects. People would always do what she asked. And once, unbeknownst to anyone, she caused one of her few friends to hurt themselves by running into the street and being hit by a car  when she said for them to "run away and leave her alone." It was a petty argument when they were children, and they weren't seriously hurt, but she was so traumatized by that incident, and that started her long period of silence and reclusive behavior. Her father, when he was around, was very emotionally distant, neglecting the child. It lead to her growing up extremely timid, which carried over into her teen years now. She became less reclusive and more gentle and shy.

When Eun-ji was only 10, she was attacked in her bed by a hellhound that had broken through her window and chased her through the halls of the mansion. She tried to fend it off, but although she could fight, she was way too small to keep herself safe, but her beloved caretaker, the housekeeper, came rushing out and attacked it with a broom, revealing that he had...furry legs and hooves?

Confused and already tired from the endeavor, the housekeeper, now revealed to be a satyr, awoke Jung-dae from his sleep, bringing him into the living room for a discussion. The satyr conversed with the father, who couldn't really be bothered to care much about the situation.

"Surely there's a way to send her away earlier, right?" he had said, pouring himself a drink, "If there is, than do it. If it's not safe here for me, then look at the future trouble the child will cause! Take her with you, for all I care."

Surprised from his dismissive nature, the satyr agreed to travel with young Eun-ji to camp, and she became a year round camper, after being claimed almost immediately by her mother, Aphrodite. She learned that her words having power was actually an ability, being charmspeak. Eun-ji spent her time usually training, training, training, in every weapon she could get her hands on and often stylizes her weapons to be fashion accessories AND deadly weapons (such as her eyeliner concealing a small, celestial bronze knife, a folding fan being used like a tessen weapon, wrapping her sword's handle in pink, etc) she gets along well enough with most campers, but prefers the company of clashing blades as opposed to socializing and flirting like her other siblings.

    Personality

An extremely sweet and timid individual, hiding in the shadows of her stylish, beautiful siblings. She is by no means self depreciative about her looks, Eunji (known affectionately as Ji or Eun) knows she's pretty, but she is much more invested in the art of the blade. She is very kind, with a warm, sunshiney personality, always smiling, and nuturing but she is extremely timid in her abilities and anything not involving battle or fashion, hiding behind her siblings (reminiscent of a shy child) and scared around people and anyone who wants to approach her, like a skittish kitten. She is a very good listener and even better at comforting others, especially when it comes to relationships and amorous endeavors.

On the battlefield, she becomes a different person. Her sword's hilt may be pink, but the way she fights with it is as graceful as a dance but as aggressive and strong as an Ares kid. She is ruthless, cold, and calculative and will win by any means, becoming extremely hyperfocused. But afterwards, don't be surprised if she presents you with some treats and chocolates and wrap your wounds!

She adores her siblings, but she dislikes how seductive they are, believing in the sanctity of true love and taking your time with it as opposed to playing the field.

  12. Akemi had a lollipop in her mouth, bubblegum flavored as she waited, sucking on it. She pulled it out of her mouth to point it at the camper. "You're late, but it's excusable once more...My oh my, do I have a lovely collection for you!" she held up a small bundle of polaroid pictured. "I had nicked a camera from someone; one of those small, low electronic kind. Wouldn't do me any good to steal her diary, I'd prefer not to get sent to Tartarus by an escapee nun from the Vatican."

The first picture was a passage in the girl's diary. Akemi had hidden herself under her bed right at the time of the incident with the dress. She could've sworn her ears bled from how shrilly that girl was screaming and freaking out. As Samantha had stomped out the room, wearing it (which didn't make much sense to Akemi, but oh well) she sifted through the room, briefly. Damn. That girl was good at hiding things, but not as good as her shadows were at searching. They had located her diary, and with ease, picked the lock on it. Using her camera, she sifted through it as fast as she could, snapping pictures of special passages, particular the ones with "I HATE HER" and "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH" and "THAT WITCH" scribbled in angry red pen.

But she smirked as she read through, black gloves tracing the pages. No evidence left behind. Stubbornly admitted in its pages, was how "pretty Evelyn could look with that smug stupid smirk on her face." or "how sexy she looked, strutting around showing off her-" more angry, denying words proceeded that- on and on she switched back and forth about she hated her guts and to how she may have an infatuation with her.

She tucked the pictures safely away in her bunk after she snuck out, leaving everything untouched. When she returned a few days later during the day, Samantha by then had sworn to burn every last piece of clothing Evelyn got her "witch's hands" on, but in her closet, tucked safely in the back, were most definitely clothes she wouldn't wear. She had kept some of them, especially that rather revealing pink dress Evelyn had fashioned, along with a black dress, one that was never worn, but rather revealing as well, a lipstick mark on the area where your breasts would be.

Akemi smirked, snapping a brief picture, and back at that lakeshore, presented the Aphrodite girl with the pictures. 5 total. 3 diary entries, 2 pictures of the dresses.

"She wouldn't leave her room much two days after," Akemi gave a rare eye roll, "It was a direct nightmare." she sucked on her lollipop as Evelyn admired her handiwork.

  13. She was messing with her magic once more, the shadows weaving between her fingers like yarn. She listened to him hum, and it was a pleasant tune. Akemi recognized it, and she just turned her head to listed, shifting her knee to prop upwards, resting her elbow on it. Even with just humming, the melody was pleasant. Such was the talent of an Apollo kid, she mused to herself, drumming her other hand's fingers on her leg.

Quietly, perhaps even shyly, she shifted herself to fully face him, twirling her hair with her finger, her tresses tightly wound around it. "Sing the rest...I kind of wanna hear your- your voice." her cheeks burned with embarrassment afterward. She was used to being blunt, but it was for others' needs, not at her own request. Her gaze drifted to his lips for a moment, before touching her own. It felt like an indirect kiss, but the Hecate kid just waved it away as a silly thought, still listening to him sing.

  14. She snorted, shooing the shadows away so she could sit in silvery light. "Then who are they (lips) for, huh?" she crossed her arms curiously, a hint of defiance in her eyes. "Oh please, I know I'm irreplaceable," she brought her jacket around herself out of shyness. She exhaled gently, looking at the dirt. "It's nothing, really," she replied to his comment, looking up once more, but then lost face in the sight of his. "Ah- just...nevermind." she kept stammering, losing her cool-headed facade, swallowing.

Akemi worried about how her elusive nature could ever draw him to her in the first place. She had always been deemed replaceable. A second thought. Why was he here, with her? Choosing to spend time with her all these weeks? Training with her, having such a warm smile whenever she won, his warm touch as he helped bring her to her feet every time he won-

She shook her head at the thought, flustered, slapping her cheeks, and turning towards him, recovering her usual apathetic, neutral nature. "Well, well, sunshine," she patted his curls, "Why don't you hum us a little tune?"

  16. The Hecate girl just messed with the ends of her jacket, letting shadows curl into her palm, her cheeks flushed out of embarrassment for Evelyn's kindness. She didn't expect the Aphrodite girl to be so kind in nature, but she appreciated it nonetheless as she looked up, running a hand through her hair to sweep it back.

"The light does have its weaknesses and strengths, I would guess. But the shadows can be so comfy, so I think I'll leave the spotlight to you. I-" she paused, tripping over her words, but sucked in a deep breath and turned back to her, her voice growing quieter, softer even. Much opposed to her sharp and sarcastic tone just a moment or two before. "I do appreciate your kind words though. Thank you, nonetheless." She gave a smile, before looking out at the lake and skipping a rock, watching it glide on the water. 7 skips. Her heartbeat felt timed to those.

"Like I said, give me a few days. Be sure to...keep her busy. Somewhat. My presence is hard to detect, but that girl is sharp with her senses..."

  17. Akemi was finishing off binding her sibling, praying he didn't get back at her for it later, when she overheard Evelyn's comment. She bent down, adrenaline rushing through her so much she disregarded her shadowy, spectral nature.

"If you were paying attention to your new boy toy as opposed to her ass," she said quietly between them, flicking her eyes over at Samantha, "Then you would've known it wasn't her fault, okay? Don't start." she patted Evelyn's head as she walked back over to her bound brother. "He'll be fine, he's just out cold." she tossed her a small, black rag.  "Hold it to his nose, it looks pretty bad," she said, gesturing to him.

  18. "Woah, okay." Akemi immediately swirled her hands in a brief circle, calling the shadows forward to attempt to drag Mateo backwards, taking great care not to hurt him and keeping an eye on the girl he was protecting. Sure, her face had the expression that she would've most definitely full on fried Theo's face with an ultraviolet bolt, but she really didn't want to be looped in with her sibling in this mess, so she had to play the risk of also ending up as his next punching bag as the shadows wrapped around him, binding. "That's enough from you." but as she stepped in front of him to stop him, the evil glint in her eye, along with her brief coy smirk, was a signal that it was a ploy.

She was amused, and happy that he did that, and it didn't matter to her that he probably wouldn't care, Akemi had to get her point across somehow. But that didn't stop her from wrapping him with shadows. "If you kill him, that's the issue." she mumbled, crossing her arms to look at the decked bitch boy.

"But that was well thrown and rather well deserved."

  19. She instinctively had grabbed his hand as he had touched her lip, not very used to the gesture. She could feel her pulse quicken, and she could swear she felt his too, as she looked into his eyes for a brief moment, warm and deep and reminiscent, briefly, of the sun, reaching up with another hand to coil one of his curls around her finger. "You list so many places to find spirits, seems like you want to replace me, hm?" she cocked her head to the side slightly. "But I'll be sure to definitely clench my teeth next time so you don't go whee-wooing over like a concerned ambulance.

As he offered her his lip balm, she applied it, but as she did, stopping mid swipe, she sniffed and licked it slightly. "Pina colada?" she looked up at him, raising an eyebrow, "Who are you making out with, hm?" she noticed the wound on her lip beginning to head as she tossed over the little tube of fruity lip balm back over. "Thanks." she said, walking over to a grassy patch and sat crosslegged, patting next to her. "Sit with me, would you?"

  20. The minute Theo spoke to Mateo, attempting to flirt with him, Akemi could feel a hot sensation boiling up in her chest, her lungs, her core, snapping like white hot ropes. Her fists tightened slightly, as she stood close to the shadows, but the sensation of magic through her veins wasn't foreign. She didn't know why she was so pissed, she was not the kind of person fight others' battles...she did feel a bit peeved when Theo address Lena, but when Theo crossed MateoNo, she couldn't...it wasn't like her at all.

But the purple, crackling light swirling around her balled fists begged to differ, her nails pressing into her palms and causing cuts, from how aggressively she was squeezing. Before she could stop herself, or perhaps prompted by the shadows, she spoke, her voice low and dangerous. "Back. The. Fuck. Up." she said, her voice hitching in her throat. She tried to make that response as quietly as possible, the shadows hiding her still, but the look of anger on her face was clear to see. She refused to admit it or realize it, but her reaction of offense attributed to pure sibling instinct.

No one would mess with them in her presence.

  21. Akemi couldn't help but smile deviously as she could see Mateo powerwalking over to the Hermes kid. She did a simple hair toss over her shoulder, anticipating her brother. Ooh, she would've stopped him, but why would she, when she could witness such a...beach bitch boy be decked in full in the face? Not her, not at all.

But she was anticipating action to occur, oh yes...She knew, most definitely, he'd get into trouble. And that, was when, her favor was to be set up.

"Sage, you're going to want to note this, hm? Can't miss something for that growing file of yours." she knew that to seem at least semi responsible, she'd have to pull him back somewhat, so she got up, walking over, preparing and putting on a mock concerned face to play into her own plans.

  22. Akemi just tossed him a towel to dry off, wincing. "It's a reactive habit, Loukas. I'm sorry." she just sighed and whispered a simple incantation to siphon the water off the floor and into the kitchen sink, then looked up at him. "Oh? What am I practicing?" she grinned. "Here, let me show you."

She whispered the incantation again once more, the sphere of water in her left palm, and she tossed it to her right. "Duratus, she said once more, having the sphere turn to ice, and when she tossed it back to her other hand, it became water that hovered in her palm. She made the water land in a glass before taking a sip. "Every Hecate child can have some degree of elemental control with their mystokinesis- not as powerful as children who were born naturally, but," she used one of her silky shadows to place the glass down, "I decided to focus on that specifically. Honing a small elemental control over all the things in nature." she crossed her arms.

"What about you, huh? I've seen you around with Shadow, what are you practicing on?" she messed with her hair, running her fingers through it. She wasn't used to talking to her half-siblings, but she always had a curiosity for the more quiet ones- just like Loukas.
