I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE!

James had been in the kitchen with lilythe until she went off to do some cabin leader things. So he stayed at the table and ate a cookie as he read a book in ancient greek about monsters. He wanted to learn so much so he could teach those who came to the camp. As james sat there he heard a voice and got up. That was a voice he knew but hadn't seen in a bit. Walking out of the kitchen he ended up being face to face with Mateo. "Hello" he said stepping backwards laughing. Then he went back to the table "it is good to see you, how you been?"

Dustin had never been a demi-god that was good with kids. Even when he was that age he had a hard time. So when he left the little demi-god seemed to pout. "Don't worry little one he will be around and you will see him again!" he promised her with a smile. That was when he began to talk to her to tell her about the gods. "Well the greek gods and goddess have been around a long time and all have powers that people have been marveling for a long time. " he stopped "They sometimes fall in love with mortals and make children like us. I am a son of Tyche the goddes of luck." he smiled thinking of his mother. He was found of her and had been around her several times for a quest or two. That was when she asked if they were up in the sky. "Well sort of, they use to be in Greece and now they are at the top of the empire state building." He was going to let that all sink in and listen to her questions.

James was out and about checking on some of the new campers. He was having a good summer so far as there had been a stream of new campers that had arrive. Some were a bit too young so he wanted to make sure they were getting on okay. That was when he was walking across the camp when his name was called. With a grin that grew on his face he looked over to see an old friend “Dustin” he called back then rushing over him way. He was happy to see him as the last time he saw him Dustin had been on a mission to get a young one out of trouble. He told of a monster that was attacking the girls father. Getting closer to him he. Called out “ so man what ya up to?” He said with a grin on his face. James was hoping they could hang out so it was nice to have some older campers around 

James was strumming a couple of chords waiting for the camper to come in. That was when he heard his name from a voice he knew well. "Savanna you made it.....sweeet" he said bobbing his head up and down. "Well this is not a dream Savanna but a real place!" he said understanding it could be a bit difficult to understand. Putting down the guitar he then leaned forward. The two of them had talked a lot in the dream. He honestly did the entire introduction for her there. That was when she told him about the monster who went through the orphanage. "No worries little one they will be okay. It is just good that you got away. Tell me what happened?" he patted the space beside him on the couch. 

James was happy to see a new camper and one who didn't seem to be running for their life. That was when James saw them walking over towards him. The younger camper began to introduce herself to him. "Well Katie, first I want to welcome you to Half Blood Hill! This is a camp for Demi-gods" he said. Knowing he could be a bit more specific he said "We are around the long island area of new york" he said nodding his head with a smile. He had been at this camp ever since he was eight. He had fought int he wars with Percy Jackson and saved the camp. "Come inside the big house and we can talk" he said beckoning her in after him as he walked into  the house himself. He found a plate of cookies and lemonade that he had prepared a bit earlier. Turning he waited for her to come in and took a seat in the living room. 

James had only met a few children of the gods that could enter your dreams. He had been dreaming of playing. music to the gods when all of a sudden there was another person in his dreams. They had started to talk to them and that was when he realized they must be a demi-god. Trying to explain it to her while in a dream was a challenge. He honestly had never done it that way before. The young girl was about to be thirteen so he told her he would send someone to get her. He prayed to the gods that the trip would be a safe one as she would be claimed soon!

James was in the living room with his guitar when he heard the knock at the door. "Come on in. Is that you little one?" he called out to the camper. He was hoping and praying that it was the little camper he talked to in his dreams. It would be good to see her face to face.

James was just finishing up talking to one of the other cabin leaders as they were getting ready for summer when the oven went off. Putting on mittens on be pulled the tray of freshly baked cookies out of the oven. Placing it on the counter he then smiled as he looked back to the table where he had some Ancient Greek books on monster lore. He taught the class on it at camp and had always been fascinated with the monsters since he was first attacked. Stretching he walked through the house and out onto the porch. That was when he saw a satyr with what looked like a new camper. Waving his arms he smiled “Hey over here you two.” James called out hoping to get their attention. 

When Lilythe said that they would have been fine without them he shook his head no. "Lilythe you are a critical part of this camp. Like no one could replace you." He said this with a smile. James meant it with all his heart. Fighting in the war beside her he knew she would always have his back. That was when she asked about who was around. He knew why she had asked it but he hadn't seen shadow in a while. Shadow and Lilythe were an interesting couple but she deserved much better. James had always had a brotherly love towards Lilythe and wanted the best for her. 

That was when he asked her how she was doing. See not too long ago Lilythe and Shadow had broken up. James saw how much lilythe was hurting but she left the came which he didn't blame her. Listening he wanted to be there for her. "I get it Lilythe and you don't need to explain to me. I just want you to know I am here for you" he smiled with his eyes as he much as he did with his mouth. Shaking his head no when she asked if he was on the list of return campers. "Nope and I would let you know right away if he does!" He then cheers her then took a sip. "So what now? Do you want to take you places in Hermes Cabin? or take up new teaching classes for the campers?" He got real excited as he had his close friend back once again.

James knew this could be troublesome for all of the children of the gods but even more for the little ones. He thought back to his own experience of becoming an orphan from his mortal parents but he was lucky. For his mother the goddess of luck passed on her ability of luck. He had gotten through a tragic attack from monsters when he found out he was a demi-god. As he walked over to get the cookie tray Dustin came over and talked to him about the little girl. Taking in everything he nodded "No worries man I got this." He watched Dustin walk over to the little girl and tell her bye.

James sat down and asked her her name. She replied with Octavia Davis and she was looking down at her jar of pennies. "I know this might be scary but you are safe here I promise" he placed his hand over his heart. "So octavia do you know anything about the greek gods or goddess?" 

"It is an undetermined but we should know by tonight" he said with a smile. Watching the camper go outside the house. The God's sometimes claimed campers at the camp fires but they had to do it by their 13th birthday so this camper would soon know! "He is a fun one for sure! Can't wait to see who claims him" he said in his cool voice. Smiling as the camper went out of the house and joined a few other campers. "We have missed you Lilythe" he said giving her a smile. The two of them had gone way back!

Following her into the kitchen as she gestured he knew she had went off to college which most of them didn't get the chance too but Lilythe was a special one for sure. She gave hope to all campers that they could lead a normal life once and for all. "Some I mean the typical cabin leaders like me and dustin are here but only a few year arounders are here already. Summer is just about to begin so you are here at the right time!" He smiled excited to have her back even if it was just for a bit.  Smiling a bit more he nodded to the guard "You know I am always right there by your side" he then took a cookie and enjoyed it. It seemed Lilythe did too! "surprisingly I have gotten been luck at making these, who knew right" 

Just as he finished the cookie he had to ask "So Lilythe how are you doing?"

So Lets start with Tyche

James had just finished getting his material ready for his monster lore class he would be teaching this summer. He was ready for the campers to come back. That was when he saw in the distance what looked like Dustin with a youngling in his arms. This made him laugh a bit as he knew how dustin felt about kids. Jogging a bit faster he was rushing up the hill to the big house. Opening the door he took a deep breathe in as saw the little girl hold on to Dustin a bit more. "HEY THERE" he said in a gentle voice. "It is going to be okay, let me go get some cookies" he rushed off to the kitchen and found a plate of cookies that Lilythe must have made. Coming back into the room he nodded to dustin to head to the living room. Sitting down the cookies on the table he took a seat. "Hey there, my name is James and I am a cabin leader here at Half Blood Camp. What is your name little one?" he spoke to her in a gentle manner hoping to make her feel safe. 

James had been sitting in the kitchen with a guitar in his lap talking to a camper. He had been there for some time since the camper had been brought by one of the satyrs from half blood hill! As he was just finishing up he stood up and put his guitar down on the side of the table. Finding out he was a child of the goddess Tyche was a hard thing to believe. But the monsters that had plagued his childhood which killed his father and stepmother. Left him and his sister on their own. As the two of them had went from place to place the monsters still kept coming. This is when he made the hard decision to leave his sister with a aunt of theirs. He was just going to have to make it on his own, but a Satyr found him and helped him get to half blood hill. 

This place was his home and he fought in the war to defend it with the others. Smiling at the camper who got up and began to walk towards the front of the house. He heard a voice he would have never forget. She was there when everything had happened with percy and the war. Walking out to see her standing there by the door. The camper had stopped staring at her. "Lilythe your back" he rushed over and hugged her. Then stepping back he looked back at the new camper and nodded to him "You can go on, she is not a monster!" He joked looking back at Lilythe with a smile.
