This was the first time in a while James had gotten out of the country, let alone the camp he was always at the front desk at the big house. But he knew the others would watch the place while he was out so he could have a bit of fun. Arsen had been nice enough to get this whole trip in order for them which he was forever thankful for. He just wanted to spend time with his friend in a place where he could just have a bit of fun without having to take care of any younger campers. With the long day of travel behind them, they arrived to the hotel which was sort of the nicest place he had ever been.

Turning around in circles as he looked at the suite the two of them would be sharing while in this city. "WOAH" he said to himself as he saw Arsen looking out the window. Putting his things down he walked over to join him.  His friend asked him a question he began to think about "Well, I saw we should go out and enjoy the night as I want to see this city. Maybe we go find a good place to get drinks." He was looking at Arsen but then joined him at looking out at the city which seemed alive and ready for them explore. But what should they do during the day was a good question "Well there is a lot of sightseeing for ancient places and then there is the Palace of Catalan Music which I would love to see what is playing" he said excitedly.

James didn't understand the extent of what Asher was going through but he knew he could support her! Smiling back at her he nodded his head head to her statement "Well I have no doubt that you will do well and even succeed at it, from everything I have seen you do even with your own magic. I know you can do the impossible" he only hoped his words were a source of comfort for her. 

James was working to keep the food going as he told Asher his own secrets. He was the guy everyone at camp seemed to go to as if he was the all wise one. Heck he was no son of Athena but a son of Tyche. The only thing on his side was luck! "Not really, I mean I have been at camp since I was 10 years old and it just seems a bit scary to do something else." He admitted this as he was being vulnerable to her as she had been to him. "I do enjoy teaching so that is something I do but music has always been a love of mine. Even though I am a son of Tyche it was as if the God's gave me this talent of mine."

How did he get so lucky to have a girlfriend as beautiful as Rissa, he thought to himself as he saw her in her Sandy outfit from Greece. "WOW you always blow me away with your radiance" he said to her as she came out of her cabin. It was true that he had always been taken by her but still, someone would have to be blind to not see what was shinning right in front of them. Taking her hand, the two of them went to the party where they said hello to the people already there. Of course the birthday girl Lilythe was looking as cute as ever! Seeing that right as they got to the party, the mysterious Shadow arrived as well. James looked from Azrael to Lilythe back to Shadow as he wondered what might happen at this event. 

Seeing that Lilythe wanted Rissa to come to her, he kissed Rissa on the cheek. "Want a drink my love?" he whispered in her ear as he looked at her with an admiring look. Just then the music began to play. He knew at some point he would be dancing with Rissa for sure. Looking up it seemed a few more had joined their numbers. Both the twins had shown up plus willow. "Hey Arsen, good to see you man. You ready for our trip soon?" 

James totally excited for the idea of traveling with Arsen was like a kid at a candy shop. With the places he had in mind the two of them should have a good time for sure. Traveling had always been something James wanted to do more as he grew older. The world had so much to offer which he wanted to see and do all there was! "Well no worries, we can figure out while we go" he laughed knowing they would be having their own stories like that on this trip. "As long as we make it back alive then I would see that as a good trip for sure" he said putting the expectations there. James was not ignorant to the life style of partying and fun. He had done plenty of it himself over the years. Then looking up at the clock he realized what time it was "Oh do you want to get some food, I need to head to the mess hall to make sure things are in good order. You can tag along if you like" his thumb was pointing towards the place he was going.

James knew the life of a demi-god was no play in the park, which is why they wanted the half-bloods to be at camp. It was safer for them here with the magic fleece giving them boundaries safe from most things. Plus it was nice for them to have a place to put their guard down and just be themselves. Growing up here was something was something he would always be forever grateful for. Seeing that Emberlynn was happy with the fact she could go home during the year but come to camp in the summer put a big smile on his face. His gaze going from the satyr to the demi-god in front of him as they spoke to each other. 

Atlas broke the news before James could which might have been a good thing. With the God's more active than ever, the amount of Demi-gods out there with no help was pretty abundant. He could see that Atlas did not like telling Emberlynn this but it was good to let her know. If anything, James would be there if she needed to cry it out or stick with him for a while. He had  huge heart for the campers, especially the new ones that were trying to understand everything. 

Seeing that Emberlynn was trying to hold to together it made his heart ache "Hey it will be okay, I promise to be by your side today okay. Tonight you will be in the hermes cabin until you are claimed by your parent at the bonfire." He said getting up hoping if she needed a hug he was there for her. Maybe he would get his guitar and play some music or her....or they could do go arts and crafts.  "But come on, I will get your stuff and help you to go relax a bit and then maybe we can do something fun to take your mind of things." He finished saying as he moved to go get her things. Picking them up he got back to the room as he looked at Atlas "safe travels my friend. Find the demi-gods and bring them home...safe" he nodded to him! 

James nodding his head, opened the door for his best friend to come in to join him. "Of course you can. It is a bit quiet as I feel most went out already today" he laughed as he scratched him head. As he turned for her to follow him into the room. The cabin was one that was pretty full of machines you would find in any normal casino. "Soooo what is the best friend code enacted for? What is going on Lilythe?" He was wondering what was going on with all the things happening at camp. With Azrael coming back and then Shadow showing  up. Things were going to be a bit crazy for her for sure. But whatever Lilythe needed, James was here for her! He has been some time and always will be! 

It wasn't as if he wanted to be in a complicated relationship with Rissa. Heck he would have dated her all those years ago but was scared of losing her from the commitment. "I guess both really" he said looking down then back up at her. "I mean I kick myself almost everyday that I don't......Kyle got to be with her first but now I feel like this is my chance." The began to fidget his fingers from being nervous as he was worried maybe Rissa did not feel the same as he did. She had been with Kyle the last two years which he felt lost without her. 

James only knew what it all looked like on the outside, heck he knew the type of things Mat was into and wanted to make sure Helena wasn't being taken advantage of. She was just sixteen after all. In the eyes of the world most could say she is still just a kid. "I just want to make sure if you want out you can get out. I would just hate to see you get hurt in multiple ways because you feel you have no say." 

Listening to Helena recount the story of Silena Beauregard gave him a bit of a sigh as so many of the aphrodite kids were always out to find love as it was instilled in them. As if they could not be happy if they did not find their own love story. "Well then just take it one step at a time and DON'T get swept up into things that you want to romanticize when it shouldn't be. If you want to be treated as an adult then stop caring what others think, but do take caution if they see red flag when you don't. It is one thing to not care about what the others may say than being dumb and not listening to warnings of danger!" 

Shrugging James had this sense of duty to protect those around him and maybe it was be hard with him and Mat. But he wanted to make sure Helena was okay. "Hey I will be friends with him, I mean none of us are perfect but your safety matters to me." It wasn't as if he was super close to Helena but maybe this would change that. James was known as the Cabin Leader most went too and it wasn't for no good reason. The life that most of them lived was a hard one that was unfair and tragic! "Well the door is always open even if you don't take it, it is still there for you okay?" James would leave the matter to that for now as he had done his part. Whether Helena took it was up to her.

James was happy to see the turn out was a good one as the campers were ready for the one last fun they could have. Waving to the ones that greeted him he was looking for either Rissa or Octavia. "Hey Levi, thanks for coming man!" he said to him as he keep looking around wondering if maybe Octavia would have her friend Derrick with her. The two of them had hit it off which was so great as both were young for a camper. That was when he spotted the two young campers. Playing a game of chase it seemed like they were having fun. The smile on his face was one of pure happiness. Octavia was the best little sister he could have asked for so seeing her this happy made his heart sail! "Octavia" he called out to her with a wave!

The was just coming to an end but he had a feeling it was going to be one he wouldn't forget. "Ohhhh hey there beautiful" James said back as Rissa's hand slipped into his own. "Oh yes it is over there" he pointed to one of the sandy hill areas that already had a blanket on it for them. He wanted their first fireworks after they became a serious item to be perfect in everyway. "Isn't it great that they are" he said to her. "I am just happy she isn't feeling so alone." Of course he worried about this many times as he knew what it was like coming at a younger age to camp. He too had come and felt how hard it was to watch the older campers come and go as they went off on their own adventures as he stayed at camp. "Hey my best little sister" he said to Octavia who was calling to him from a spot she seemed to find on the beach.

That was when a friendly face came into view. Killian looking as sharp as ever who was asking about none other than Willow. The look of shock was on his face. Killian was not the type to seek out a girl, most just flocked to him. But before Rissa could answer, James caught a view of Willow. A smirk was on his face as he nodded his head to Killian in the direction he saw her. "Hello Willow....Killian here was just asking about you" he laughed nudging his friend. 

Seeing Rissa laugh made his heart so full as all he wanted to do was make her happy. Part of him hoped his little surprise would do just that! "Well you know, I can't help myself.....just wanted to build the anticipation" he winked at her with his smirk on his face. The man was trying to hold it together as there was a bit of excitement but also nerves at the same time. So much could happen and he was just hoping for the best. Saying a silent prayer to the God's, he hoped they would hear him and grant him this one blessing. Because this woman just meant so much to him and it took him seeing her again to realize that. How dumb he was to let her go the first time. To go off to another man's arms. He still didn't know the full story of what happened there but what he did know was that he would protect her and love her at all cost. 

Just a simple thing as her hand taking his. James knew that all would be okay in the end as long as he had her! As Rissa followed him to a better area he swallowed hard as he knew it was time to tell her what he had been feeling this entire time. If he didn't, maybe Kyle would come back and try to get her back. NO that was not an option in his book so he looked at her and said it out loud. Watching Rissa his heart dropped when Rissa paused after saying his name. Was she not feeling the same thing? Or was maybe thinking of going back to Kyle after all? These seconds felt like hours to him as he had the look on his face that screamed panic. But then as she started to speak again, the words I LOVE YOU made his face break into a goofy smile "You do?" he said in almost a whisper as he was so shocked. "Will you be my girlfriend? Not more it's complicated." 

James was feeling happier than he had in years! There are times you can try and fool yourself, in this case when he was with Amber. He told himself she was the one when deep down he knew it was Rissa.....it was always going to be her. She was the one that set his soul on fire. The girl who made things inside of him was to do such dirty things that it would make the next person blush. Hearing her say she likes it "Good, I mean I do want to please my naughty girl." The smirk on his face was one that had so much behind it. James was planning on making this a night that Rissa would never forget. Even if things were a bit complicated he wanted to show her what she meant to him by pleasing her in ways no other man had done!

James simply loved being a tease to her as he could see it aroused something in Rissa. Looking down as she played with the wrist band on his shorts. His eyes flickered up as things began to get tighter the harder he got. The thought of Rissa touching him like she used to made him want to just sweep her off her feet right there on the shore. But for now he would hold back to let her have a bit of fun as he soon would too! His eyes flickering up as it stared back into hers.

If the gods were looking down then he would be doing things tonight with Rissa that might make blush. As he planned on having his way with her, pleasing her time and time again. But at this moment the woman o his dreams was having her way with him making his face show in how much ecstasy he was in. As he pleaded for her it was then when he entered her mouth.  Between the view of Rissa's mouth around his cock and the warm feeling of her mouth enveloping it sent waves of pleasure through his body. "You are stunning Rissa" he exclaimed as he leaned in to kiss her. "You ready for this?" he nodded his head towards the big house where the party would be! It would be an interesting night with both Azrael and possibility Shadow attending the party. 

Holding out his hand he took Rissa's into his own as he led them toward the house to join the group. James was dressed as a Johnny Castle from Dirty Dancing. It wasn't anything fancy but it was cool to go to a party with her girl like this! Getting to the house he held the door open for Rissa for her to walk in as he followed her in. "Hello Everyone" he said as he waved the the small group that gathered!

James knew that Rissa was the girl for him and today he was going to show that! Playing with the ring he knew she would be here any moment which then hearing her voice. The smile on his face was one that showed that he was very excited to see her. "Rissa your here" he said as he picked her up and spun her around. Setting her down he smiled as he stared into her eyes. "I have something for you tonight buttttt that comes later." The smirk that was on his face was one that could drive a girl wild as he he raised his eyebrows. 

Grabbing her hand he tilted his head to the side to let her know to follow him. Looking down he could feel his heart racing as he knew this was going to happen now! "Since you been back, I have felt happier than I have ever felt in my life." He paused as he swallowed as he looked back at her, walking around the lake he was happy to be at this place to shared how he felt with her. "I don't want it to end.....I I I LOVE you Rissa and I want you to myself. " He was looking nervous as he didn't know how she would take this. They had always been it's complicated but now he was going to it like Helena told him to do! 

James knew that camp could be a lot for a new camper to take in with training and camp duties. Which is why he wanted to check in on Katie to see how she was doing. James had been the one to welcome her to the camp earlier this year but had not really kept up with her too much. This could be a good chance for him to check in on her to make sure she was okay at least. Seeing Katie, James waved at her with his big smile on his face. " Katie it's so good to see you and no worries I just got here a bit ago making sure we had the stuff for our Canoeing today."  He looked over to the boats and then waved her to follow him.

Walking up to the dock he had already prepared a boat for them with some paddles. Smiling he then grabbed ahold of the caneo to steady it for her to get in when she was ready. "I will let you go first" a smile on his face said he was ready for adventure. 

James was happy to do this as a Cabin Leader, even though it could be tough at times. Trying to get all this information in about 15 or more like 10 minutes so the kids don't lose interest was a trick he was good at. Most of their attention spans only lasted so few with the ADHD. So as they were finishing their conversation about all the Greek God's and our part in it all. TJ seemed to have a question about Hermes which would be the cabin he would stay in until he was claimed. "Ohhhhh Hermes is  the ancient Greek god of trade, wealth, luck, fertility, animal husbandry, sleep, language, thieves, and travel. One of the cleverest and most mischievous of the Olympian gods" he finished saying with a smile. 

Then hearing the last question he nodded and got up "Come on, let's take your stuff to the cabin and then we will go sword fight!" 

James was excited to hear Asher ask him questions about rice noodles. There was a part of him that loved learning but also loved to shared that with others. Plus with cooking he could show her how to, make good food for her and then teach Asher all at once. For him this was quality time well spent together. "So The rice noodle dates back to around 2000 years ago when Rice became plentiful in southern China. The cooks in northern china wanted to see if they could profit off of it so they used the rice to turn into rice flour." He was smiling so big as he was happy to teach her all about it. The history of food was something he loved to learn all about. "To make it they store rice up to 9 months to make it hard before they ferment it for several days. Then it is ground up in a mill to make the flour, which boiling water is added to the flour to make a dough which the noodles are formed from." Finishing that he gave her some moments to ask more questions as the pot was filled. Placing it on the stove he turned on the heat to allow it to come to temperature. 

Having someone to talk to always was nice when it was someone around your age. Since most of the time he was talking to the younger ones about lore or training. As he listened to her about her life. James only knew so much about the twins after all. To him they were still a great mystery! "Never, you have my word" he said with a caring smile. The fact that Asher said that to him made him feel like he was one that could be trusted. "Well you are super smart Asher, I know you can pick anything up in no time" he said truthfully. Watch Asher laugh made him smile as it was good to see her smile.

Nodding him head he got the feeling like he got the whole having a hard time finding your abilities and finding a tutor. "I am just trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. I have been a cabin leader for 6 years now....so trying to figure what to do." 

The idea of traveling had kind of set James heart on fire as he wanted to see the world. Most of his life had been tied up in the camp with taking care of campers and being a some what parent to the young ones. This was a lot on him at times but now that he was getting older, a part of him craved to be in the world for a bit to see it and experience it all. Going with someone who was well experienced in it all is a huge plus too! Arsen had been all around the globe in a way he knew what to expect when traveling which James had not. 

Trying to come up with a place to go, a few came to mind which he then spoke to Arsen just to hear why not both. The look of shock and excitement ran across James face as he had not even thought that was a possibility. "Ohhh that would be so sick" he said quickly to his friend "I just didn't think about it" scratching his head with a smile "We sort of do have all the time in the world!" With the campers soon to be back home after the summer was up, it meant he could take a break! "Ummm well in spain there is Valencia, Barcelona and Madrid........with Amsterdam I honestly don't know too much about it but heard it is a great place to go!" 

James could not help but laugh "You are right, you can't see it because of the mist. It is a magical thing that hides most of the things from mortal as they would not be able to understand it...it could make them go insane." He said hoping this helped a bit with why he did not see it. "But if you go in and take the elevator, for a demi-god there is a different stop that mortals cannot take. To Mount Olympus!" James had been there just a few times for different missions and such but it was not too often they got to go where the God's lived!

James was one that worked with a lot of campers in his time so as TJ was putting the things together it seemed he was getting the main point across. "You are right. One of the God's is your immortal parent which fell in love with your mortal parent which made you." It was a strange thing to think about so he was happy that TJ was getting the point of this. It was what lead to all the other things they would learn about here at camp over the many years that TJ would be here. 

Knowing most of this might be going over TJ's head, he knew the boy would ask later about some of the things they did talk about and that was going to be okay. "Well TJ camp is only for the summers which then you have the option to go home to your family. Monsters can come get you there but that is what we train you for. But there is an option for you to stay here too....year around like me." He pointed to himself as he smiled. "You will be claimed by your 13th birthday but until you are claimed will you will be staying in the Hermes cabin. Do you have any questions?" 

Explaining the life of a demi-god was one they had to do when the campers arrived as it was for their safety in the world outside of camp. That was why Satyrs had such an important job in finding the half-bloods as they were clueless in the danger they were in. If they failed then that would mean the end of a demi-god's life before they even knew why they were being hunted. The mist was one of those things that hide the truth from the mortals and demi-gods for a while. At times they could get glimpses but it would probably confused them. "Yes, you are here to train and learn, but also to have some fun as well. As the monsters cannot get you here so easily as they can out there" he pointed towards the boundary line where most crossed. Most of the time the demi-gods did well and survived the trials they had. "Well we can tell you about your immortal parent once you are claimed and maybe we can try and find out more about your mortal one too" he said trying to reassure her. James remembered learning about his mother who was Tyche. It made more sense about who he was and why he was the way he was!

Laughing when she called him Mr. Selway....that sounded so old to him. "You can call me James" he smiled at her with his kind and calm manner. The man had a way to make people feel at home and relax. "Well we do camp during the summer for all campers but most go home to do school during the year and return the next summer. But some that don't have a home or that it is too dangerous stay here year around like me" he pointed to himself. He wanted to reassure her that she did not have to give up her home life. Camp was one of those things they tell you is a good idea in the summer to come and do but never mandatory. "Just know you don't have to come even in the summers but we do ask you too for safety in your training." 

Fall 2021

The weather is a perfect evening, with the sky as clear of any clouds. The sun is just setting while the Hephaestus cabin sets up the fireworks while the rest of the camp make their way to the shore line. James was helping Cabin 9 getting the set up ready as he wanted things to be perfect for the camp as it was a past time they all loved. It was the night all the couples found themselves cuddling up on the beach as the fireworks would burst over head. After finishing what felt like a fulls day work. James smiled as he noticed some of the campers beginning to make their way towards him. Waving he put his hands together "WELCOME TO THE SUMMER FIREWORKS EVENT" he yellled out for them all to hear!

Wondering what Cabin 9 had done this year. He knew it would be a lot of fun to see the great work they had put into it all. Looking around he was trying to find the best spot for him to sit with Rissa and maybe Octavia!

James had finally gotten the ring he had asked for from the Hephaestus new camper Kenna. The girl had some experience with making jewelry so he just had to ask for her help. James had traded some of the cabin's duties for this ring so it was very precious to him. The only thing he was now worried about was how Rissa was going to respond to it all. The two of them had a past of being friends with benefits but now he wanted to change all that. It had been a fun summer with her but now with it coming to an end he was ready to lock it down! As the boys would call it. Rissa was the sun of his life so he wanted to show her he was serious. 

Walking back and forth on the grass by the lake he was waiting for her to meet him there. The two had made plans on going walking around the lake as summer was coming to a close. The ring was in a box in his pocket which he kept safety tucked down in his pocket. Worried he might lose it, he was just trying to rehearse the words in his head.
