  1. Asher was not a loud person or a person that displayed an array of emotions at a time. She was calm and collected. She needed to be. Her magic could get out of hand if she displayed her emotions at all times. Well, that had been the story she had told herself. She didn't actually know if it was true but as someone that never liked to appear emotional or vulnerable, it was a good lie to be told. So when Joaquin opened the door and he greeted her loudly and cheerfully, her first reaction was to take a step back in surprise. She contained herself though, and didn't raise her eyebrow at his comment. It wasn't like she wanted to stop what she was doing but the knocking had become quite annoying. "So I am your second choice? Is that what you are saying?"

Asher wasn't actually offended but the tone of her voice made it seemed she didn't particularly found it amusing to be the one person one went to when Arsen was busy. She watched him get closer and she kept looking at him expectantly. She wondered if he was on something or why he had this need to just waltz in. "I was practicing my magic," she said. "You think the boundary protects itself? Some of us help put it up in the first place." Not entirely true but by now Asher wanted some amusement and her directness always made for interesting conversations.

  2. Asher was a little surprised to be invited to Lilythe's birthday party. Not because they weren't on friendly terms but because other cabins didn't always include the children of Hecate in their outings. Or maybe that was just her experience. She had friends naturally, but she knew people often found her to be unapproachable and even intimidating. She had heard from the younger campers that some of them found her to be scary. She really had to work on her resting bitch face but it wasn't as though she did it on purpose. She always just went about her day minding her own business. What her face did was not intentional. But alas, at least it seemed some people saw that.

Lilythe's party it seemed, was a costume party and she had to admit she hadn't an idea of what to dress herself as. She had never been much of a Halloween person. She had enjoyed it once but after her father died, all of those things that people associated with childhood, she had stopped doing. So she had come at a stand still, trying to see what costume would be cool to go about. When everything seemed lame and uninspired, she ended up option to dress as Elton John during his Dodgers game performance. Wearing sequins in all shapes and forms was not Asher's go to. In fact, she wasn't much of a bright color person but Elton John was, surprisingly, her favorite artist so wearing the blue and white sequin baseball suit was quite pleasant.

When she arrived at the place, she quickly scanned the room for her twin. She didn't see him right away and she wondered whether he had been invited in the first place. She herself hadn't mentioned it, rather forgetting to do so, and so when she didn't see him, she noticed one of her half brothers was there. Asher had not as many half siblings as some campers did, but she had never gone out of her way to befriend them. Honestly, maybe it was time to change that but she would do so after she congratulated the birthday girl. However, it turned out that even if she wanted to go to her sibling later on, he was currently at the receiving end of one of Lilythe's kisses. Huh. Go figure. "Happy birthday," she said, coming into view. "I hope I am not interrupting."

  3. Asher found herself smiling when James said he would keep her secret. Well, it wasn't much of a secret one would think in the traditional manner of the word but it was one of those thoughts that she must rather keep to herself. She never wanted to appear young and inexperienced or even naïve. She especially didn't want to appear like someone could walk all over her because she was a young woman. Her father had taught her well and she wasn't someone you could push around simply because of her youth and gender. She always worked hard to make sure she wasn't the person people didn't respect. "Thank you. I just have big shoes to fill that is all." And that felt like an understatement.

Then she looked back at James and at his response and she looked at him with curiosity. She didn't peck him for the sort of person that would be lost, especially when he looked so put together and collected. "You never thought about it?" She asked. "Is there anything you particularly enjoy?"

  4. When they reached the Big House, Asher walked straight to the front and found, as expected an Apollo kid on duty. It didn't take a genius to know what had happened, given that Asher was still carrying McKayla in her arms and the latter looked in slight pain. They were approached fast and before one of the Apollo kids could grab McKayla in his own arms, Asher turned to look at him. "There was an incident at the edge of the boundary line," she said, in an authority known to Hecate kids and older campers. "We had a monster manage to come in. The boundary line is secure for now but I need to go make sure it holds and alert the counselors. McKayla hurt her ankle in the process. She currently has a spell putting pressure on the ankle to make sure it does not swell much. It should release once proper medical attention can be given." She looked at the Apollo kid and once he nodded in her direction, Asher handed McKayla over. "I hope you feel better soon," she said and that was that.

  5. Asher didn't particularly care much about cooking. She knew how to make the basic stuff and even then she was never at the mercy of her own skills. She was privileged enough to be able to rely on others for this very simple task. Point to the matter being, she had no idea there was such a thing as rice noodles. She genuinely assumed that all noodles would be made of the same ingredients and perhaps it was her very basic introduction to Asian cuisine, that she thought they were close to spaghetti. Apparently, such thing was not true. "How are they made from rice?" She asked, watching from the sides as James began to fill the water.

When James turned towards her, Asher lifted her gaze to meet his and shrugged. "I've been fine. Just busy. I have a board taking care of my dad's business at home and they really only send me notice of things that are imperative they get my signature on," she said. "I need to get more involved but it is hard when I don't truly know what I'm doing. Don't tell anyone though. My one leg up on that business is the confidence I portray to let a  bunch of old white dudes think I do know what I'm doing." She chuckled, thinking if James ever did say something about it, she would whole heartedly disagree.

"Maybe once I finish university it will be better. It is just a lot of things happening at once. But here, I have Tristan teaching me umbrakinesis. It was hard to find a tutor, you know? The Hades kids take very different approaches to that. What about you?"

  6. Asher always felt like she had a lot on her plate and most of the time that was true but this time though, her to do list was growing out her own ambitious nature. She had one goal that she wanted to achieve at camp and that was mastering the art of Umbrakinesis. That skill was known to be possessed by the children of Hades and while that was impressive, Asher didn't necessarily want to learn from them. It was different. They didn't possess the skill to do magic on the side. She wanted to learn from any of her half siblings but for the longest time, she had no one around that could teach her and while she could learn by studying her mother's ancient texts, she did a lot better by example. Which is how she found herself partnering with Tristan in this art. When she arrived, she was surprised to see him there already as she would have assumed that she would be the first to arrive. That was usually the case. "Hey, how are you?" She asked.

  7. Asher was the type of person that stayed up until the wee hours of the night. Then again, that was mostly true for all of Hecate's kids. Their cabin was still alive and well when the other cabins were asleep and they were known to be able to through parties that ended just as the sun was coming out. That meant they also were not early birds. In fact, they often avoided any sort of activity that involved getting up with the sun rising. With their cabin designed to their specific needs, Asher was deep in thought as she studied one of her mother's grimoires. Asher wasn't particularly fond of her mother. She understood the logic behind what she was forced to do as it was the same situation with all the other demigods, but what she could not justify was why she kept on having kids and families if she knew she couldn't keep them? That was reckless in her opinion.

But she had to admit, her mother did have useful stuff for her to use. She was working on her magic skills and these books were challenging to follow. Though knowing how to read Ancient Greek was certainly useful. With the grimoire floating by itself, Asher recited ancient enchantments that had no real consequences and were merely small spells. Things like lighting a room or closing the doors and stuff of the sort. It was how she warmed up before the more serious stuff. However, her concentration was soon broken with the sound of not one but three knocks. Asher took a deep breath and sighed, walking towards the door with mild annoyance. When she opened it, she stood by the doorframe and she waited. "Yes?"

  8. Asher didn't say anything. She trusted her magic and she trusted her ability with it. Right now she was focused on prevention rather than healing. She wasn't the one that was going to heal McKayla, especially not when she said she was worried about her chances at gymnastics. Asher was not going to be the one person that ruined a Nike kid's chances at competition. That was not something she had interest in dealing with. Especially when McKayla already didn't like her much. Yeah, that would be a hard pass. "It'll be okay," Asher said, without really know what else to say in that regard. It wasn't a term that would bring much comfort but it was better than walking in silence. When they got closer to the big house, Asher turned to McKayla. "Where do you want me to drop you off?"

  9. Despite being a demi-god, Asher hadn't spent much time at camp year round. Her father had always taken it as a shock that he had fallen in love and started a family with a goddess and the fact that his children didn't fully belonged to him had been hard for him to accept. Therefore, he had made sure his kids spent most of the time in New York, attending private school and living a relatively normal life. He allowed them to go to camp for a portion of the summer but his time with them was always selfish and it took precedence over their lives as demi-gods. Now that her father was gone, Asher could do both worlds equally but she never was quite sure which one she enjoyed more. "Yeah, I think that would be best. Is making noodles different from making pasta? I wouldn't assume so but you never know." And when it came to the kitchen, Asher didn't want to assume anything.

  10. Asher knew that her spells weren't going to last long but they would last them through the day and at that point, that was all she needed. She would come back and bring some of her half siblings with her. They were all mostly night owls and letting them know what had happened would guarantee their willingness to help. Not all cabins got along but if there was something they all had in common was that none of them wanted a monster roaming around the camp and attacking anyone. All the demigods were pretty much tired of constantly running and camp was the one place that made sure they were safe. They didn't want to have to deal with that constantly. "It will hold for now," she said, refraining from adding that as long as you knew what your spell was meant to do, casting them was not difficult. But alas, keeping some of the mystery of her cabin was more important at the moment.

As Asher turned her attention to McKayla, she focused on her ankle. "It won't hurt. The spell is not meant to squeeze your ankle but just wrap it. There will be nothing there but you will feel it. I'll remove the spell once we get to the Big House." Asher placed her hands on her ankle and casted her spell. The temperature in her hands lowered, it cooled to bring some comfort to the swollen injury. When she was done, she turned to look at the younger girl, expectantly. "How does that feel? Better?"

  11. Asher looked at the boundary line for a moment and an idea tickled at her. She frowned, examining her spell. She could see a think coat of dark purple light that surrounded the boundary line. It was only visible to her and other Hecate kids. Their spells had a way of doing that. She touched it slightly as she thought to herself that maybe it would be a good idea to add a tracking spell. One she would have to come enforce later today anyway but it was easier to strengthen a spell than it was to cast a new one. She placed her hands on the thin layer of the protection spelled and muttered in Ancient Greek.

Once Asher was done she turned towards McKayla. "I added a tracking spell. It will let us know if any monsters are near and pin point their exact location. This will help us figure out what parts of the boundary line are more vulnerable."  As she got closer to pick up McKayla, she noticed her ankle was beginning to swell. She frowned as she leaned down and pressed her hands firmly against her ankle. "I'm adding a pressure spell so that it helps with the swelling. It is only going to feel like you have a bandage on. It will help a little for now."

  12. Asher was in no rush to learn how to cook, in fact she rather just stay out of the kitchen altogether. Her father had been an excellent cook when he had been alive and her brother had inherited this ability. The two of them seemed to rather enjoy the craft and would often be spotted doing so together. She could imagine it was one of the few things they shared that was purely theirs alone so Asher had never felt the need to butt in on their alone time and had opted to focus her energy on other things. She was lucky enough that she could eat out whenever she wanted and had around the clock help at home. She hadn't needed to worry about learning to boil eggs or something like that.

But when James asked if she wanted to learn, the way he had said so made it hard for her to say no so she simply nodded. She wasn't eager about it but she concealed that very well. It wasn't like it would be this monumental chore anyway. She was fine with doing so. "Sure, that would be fine," she said. She looked at him as he took out some recipes and shared with her what he was thinking of making. "Pad thai would be fine." She had never actually tasted it before but it was Asian food and Asher did live in the epicenter of good Asian takeout and thus far she had enjoyed everything there.

  13. It was normal for Asher and most of the children of Hecate to be up and about during the night. This was the perfect time for her to practice her magic and her skills, especially around midnight and honestly, everything was just a lot easier for her to do during that time. Not to mention it was quiet. Well, quiet outside. Her cabin was always blazing at night. Hecate kids did know how to throw parties after all, which is why most of them disappeared during the day. "It must have gotten lost in some Hermes mail," she said with a shrug. "I'm not the best cook so maybe this is the safest distance for me in the kitchen," she said with a chuckle. "I guess something savory. I'm not much of a sweets person." She was also not particularly hungry but Asher didn't want to appear rude but saying no to James and his hospitality. Besides, she had a feeling whatever he made would probably be good.

  14. Asher often got annoyed at the limitations of her powers but she figured there was a good reason for it. Every single demigod had their limitations and their weaknesses. For all the children of Hecate, the strength and powers was always much more powerful at night. The day time could be draining and it often weakened them. They had them to rely on their combat skills to survive in the day. No one was about to take advantage of the Hecate kids during the day because they were powerless.

Asher stopped then for a moment and looked at the boundary line. She could do the spell, she just didn't know how long it would last. Then again, she could come back to reinforce it at midnight. It would be easier then. "It would work, though it wouldn't be as strong as it needs to be. I would just need to come back at midnight when it is darkest and then the spell should be able to hold," she said. Asher then placed McKayla gently on the ground, careful not to hurt her ankle and turned towards the boundary.

It was known children of Hecate could conjure any spell, not just spells that were known but they could create whatever sort of spell they wanted as long as they had the imagination for it. She took a deep breath and casted her spell. It was no surprise that it felt forced but at that moment it did the job. She felt the strain in her arms and turned to look at McKayla. "It's not going to hold long but it will buy us some time."

  15. Asher didn't think much of the way she was holding McKayla. Perhaps a less mature person would have seen the two of them and found the situation amusing. Surely one of the boys would think thoughts that bordered on the obscene, but she didn't care to think of that at that moment. To her it just looked like she was carrying one of the students to the Big House in need of help and that was that. The faster she could take her and drop her off, the faster she could resume her activities. She had other things on her schedule that she wanted to divulge her entire attention to. "No problem," she said, looking at McKayla to make sure that she was comfortable in her grip.

The walk wasn't long anyway and as she walked through the boundary line, she kept thinking about that monster and how easy it was for him to get close to them. "Don't you think it is odd that the monster was just by the boundary line and it didn't trigger any alarms? I mean, had we not seen it, it would have just waltzed into the camp unnoticed."

  16. The petty part of Asher would have said that McKayla had made her bed and she could lay in it. After all, her rude comments though never commented on, hadn't gone unnoticed and not she was asking for help. It was funny how that worked. Asher looked at her but there was no immediate emotion on her face. Her eyes looked down at her ankle and she kept her expression neutral when the younger girl spoke in an overly sweet voice pleading with help. Honestly, anything to keep her from making that unbearable noise. "Yeah, okay."

Asher was a tall person and despite what McKayla had implied earlier, she was confident in her strength. She walked over to the girl and placed one arm over her shoulder and the rest over her waist. She lifted her up, carrying her bridal style and though it took a moment to get her settled, McKayla was not so heavy that this was an impossible feat. "I am taking you to your cabin or the infirmary? What do you want to do?"

  17. Asher had only half paid attention to the sorting ceremony. It wasn't because she didn't have any interest in it but rather because it never quite got easier to watch the younger kids look so ridiculously frightened with their newfound identities. She could relate to that feeling. She had felt just as hopeless and scared as they did, but she would never admit it. The official story was that she had always known there was something different about her and retrospect it wasn't entirely deceitful. It just hadn't been the entire story. But yet she waited and she watched as the new kids got sorted and went to their respective cabins. Every time a new kid got called on, she could feel her chest hardening and her whole body stiffing as she waited to hear where they belonged.

None of them had been her half siblings. Maybe her mother had given up on that. It was bound to happen. Either way, she walked around the camp, enjoying the night. She loved being outside when it was dark out. Not only did she feel more at home when it was dark but also more powerful. She felt invincible and honestly, all the best things happened when it was dark out. As she continued her stroll, Asher got a peculiar smell and she followed it. wondering who was making cookies at this time of night. She wasn't surprise to see It was James. Those Tyche kids were always up to interesting things. "Where is the party?" She said, coming into his line of sight.

  18. Honestly, she didn't know why McKayla didn't like her but it was none of her business. She didn't even roll her eyes at the comment she made about her powers. Did she really think Asher would have spent so much time at camp and not have developed some sort of combat training? It was mandatory for them to learn and Asher was not one to skip out on lessons. She wasn't her brother. Whether or not she showed her skills was another matter entirely. She preferred to be subtle about her talents. Keep people guessing.

"Right," she said, with just the smallest hint of annoyance in her voice. She looked at the creature for a moment, studying its features. Asher was blessed with a photographic memory. She needed to record what she was seeing for later. It would be useful to share with the directors the exact details of the encounter. "Yes," she said as she turned to look at the girl. "I doubt it's the only one and we don't want any of the younger kids to come across another."

  19. Asher didn't even bother to hear what McKayla was saying about her. She sucked? Really? Asher mentally rolled her eyes and simply took a deep breath as she used her physical strength to take on what was in front of her. As she brushed some dirt off her clothes and took a note of the monster, making sure it was unconscious for the time being, she turned to look at the child of victory. "My powers are weak in the daylight, McKayla," she said as a matter of fact. "Surely you know that. Hence why I couldn't just use my powers." A total annoyance in her mind no doubt but it was the reality of the situation. As though her mother's abandonment wasn't good enough, she also had to deal with her limitations. "If someone summoned it, wouldn't the monster have made their way directly towards the center of camp? Why was it lingering here?"

  20. There were very few things that surprised Asher so when the girl promptly snapped at her, her attention turned towards the monster just a few inches next to her. Oh, that was what the girl was referring to. That was just perfect. Asher, naturally, had experience with dealing with monsters and therefore the fact that they were about to be attacked by one didn't phase her. Not to mention, she was from New York; there were very few things that really shook her. She dodged the girl as she kept talking to her in such a disrespectful manner and saw her falling backwards after being hit. Asher would have smiled had she not been preoccupied with being hurt herself.

Unfortunately, it was bright as day and Asher knew her abilities were stronger at night. She could have used any of her spells or mist control to take care of the creature but it was a large one and the sun rays didn't help. No matter, she would rely on her physical abilities instead. That was yet another great thing about her mother, she made sure to leave her children vulnerable during the day. Thanks for nothing. As the monster was going towards the other girl, Asher hurried to get behind her. If she had a sword or something of the sort, it would have been easier to stab it from behind. She didn't carry weapons on her when walking through camp. She didn't think it was necessary.

She managed to get just behind the monster's legs and hit the back of its knees with force, causing it to stumble. "How did he manage to get past the barrier?" She asked the girl.

  21. For the most part, Asher spent her time at camp researching about her abilities and working towards acquiring new ones. She trained and kept herself fit and it was basically like she was there to engage in some much needed self-improvement. That was what she did all the summers she came here and it was the perfect setting whenever she was desperately in need to get out of New York. Other than that, she also spent a lot of time reading and she liked to do that for the most part, outside near the lake. She was walking around today though, taking in the warm rays that grazed her skin. The summer was relatively quiet and she took a deep breath as she placed one foot in front of the other, one step at a time.

She was near the boundary line, which was intriguing to the campers that spent all their time here but for Asher, it was just a looking glass into her real world. As she walked, she involuntarily walked through some leaves and ruffled them. It was then she heard a girl's voice acknowledging her presence and she chuckled. "That is quite the greeting," she said, coming into view.

  22. ASHER REAGAN HARRINGTON
    300x470

    biography

Asher Reagan Harrington was born on November 9th, to New York business mogul Calvert Harrington and an alluring woman who called herself Aurora. She was born as the second child and only daughter just five minutes after her twin brother Arsen. Expecting two strong baby boys, Calvert proceeded with his choice and named the baby girl Asher. For the first few months of their life, the new family of four lived in one of New York's most coveted real estate spaces, on the corner of 81st street and fifth avenue.

However, one late spring afternoon, as the city was engulfed in rain, Aurora disappeared into the street, never to be heard from or seen again and Calvert Harrington was left with two newborn children and nothing but the memory of the love of his life. Growing up, Asher saw her father emerge himself in work and she would often reach out to him when he came home at night to try to spend more time with him. The man would lock himself in his office and Asher would stay outside, often bringing him food or leaving small notes and sliding them under the door.

At age thirteen, Asher learned the truth about her mother's identity and who she really was. After sneaking out of the house with her brother, the twins found themselves wondering across Central Park in the wee hours of the night to try and sneak into the Loeb Boathouse. Shortly after walking past the Bethesda Fountain, the twins were attacked by a monster and saved by a homeless man that had been a constant presence in the background of their life as children. The homeless man turned out to be their satyr.

While Arsen was more intrigued with the idea of being a demigod and going to Camp Half-Blood, Asher remained stoic and unimpressed. While she thrived in her surroundings, it never quite felt like home and Asher's only reason to stay was to become a master of Umbrakinesis, an ability she had learned about during the first few months of camp. Therefore it became a mutual decision that the twins would spend their summers at camp and spend the rest of their time home with their father.

At school, Asher distinguished herself for being a brilliant and determined student with a knack for numbers and analyzing financial outcomes. At age fourteen, she had made a profit off her first investment and managed to double her earnings a few months after. However, tragedy struck the household and it was Asher who found her father's body laying next to his desk in his office. At age sixteen, she was heir to the Harrington fortune, making her the richest teenager in New York City along with her brother.

While Arsen embarked in partying and drugs, Asher graduated from the Dalton School early and with honors, proceeding to attend Yale University on early admission to study Finance. Though left in the care of their aunt Annelise Harrington, Asher focused all of her time and energy in school and her father's company, working alongside the board of directors to bring the company out of the public relations disaster that had been her father's death.

    Personality

Asher comes off as very extroverted and outspoken. She's bold, often choosing to say whatever is on her mind without caring about the consequences of her words. This comes from knowing her position in life has guaranteed her a safety net to navigate the world as she pleases. She enjoys being around people and making friends. Her natural charm and charisma has helped her develop her social network and a strong group of friends. However, she can also be very introverted, often opting out of social events to seek out her own company.

Asher is not one to share her emotions and her feelings and like her brother, grew up learning how to conceal those attributes that might make her come off as weak. She can be rather cold in her demeanor and thrives from numbness. She saw her father's feelings and emotions towards her mother be the ultimate cause of his demise and therefore does not want to end up like him.

She is very analytical and likes to explore the situation to understand what would better benefit her. She has an extensive vocabulary and her intelligence shows in her demeanor and the way she holds herself. She has a fierce dedication to learning and reading and her ambition is turned towards leading her father's business and build her own empire. She has an innate ability to get what she wants and glide through life without a care in the world. She is organized, meticulous and can achieve anything she sets her mind to, often without regard for how she gets there.
