  1. Helena was a little surprised when Theo decided to spin her around and pull her close. It did feel nice to have someone display interest, however. It had been lonely over the holidays as she had deliberately not sought out Mateo because she knew that her expectation that this he act like it was a relationship was unfair. He had been clear that they weren't together. She wanted his attention but if she asked for it she would come across as needy. She figured flirting with Theo would accomplish getting his attention, and remind him that unless he tied her down she was free to seek attention elsewhere. She had not anticipated the enthusiasm with which the pawn would participate in her scheme.

"Well aren't you the flatterer? I didn't realize I was such a person of interest to you." Oops. She found herself in much more compromising a position than she had intended, held there in his arms. But what could she do? If she backed out now she would reveal exactly what she had been up to. And it did feel nice to have someone's desire, if even for a moment.

  2. Helena watched in horror as her nightmare came to fruition. She had truly messed up everything. "Mateo, please..." She reached out and grabbed his arm. "I'm sorry. It was stupid. I didn't think... I just wanted..." she didn't know how to explain anything in a way that wouldn't make things worse. If she told him how she really felt, he'd just walk away. And if she didn't she couldn't promise he would forgive her. "I didn't think it would matter so much to you. We... we aren't dating." She admitted. "I admit I wanted it to get your attention, and I should have just asked for it... it was childish to do what I did. But... I never thought it would upset you so much. I... I'm not your girlfriend."

She let go of his arm and let him continue walking past her, but just as he got to the door, she asked. "Why did it bother you so much?" She knew. And she also knew she probably wouldn't get him to say it. But if he was going to leave and throw everything away, she owed it to herself to at least get him to try. "You set the terms of that contract, Mateo. By your terms, I did nothing wrong. I'm not your girlfriend, and I can flirt if I want to." She stood her ground. She knew exactly what the two of them had agreed to, and he had never once forbade her from looking for someone else. "At the end of the day, I want you. Mateo. I always have. But you knew that. You ignored me for years, but everyone at this camp knows how I felt." Lena continued. "Nothing would have happened with him beyond some harmless flirting. I just wanted to feel wanted... if only for a moment. And you made it very clear that I'm not your girlfriend, so I thought some harmless flirting would be fine. I'm supposed to give you space and not hang on you, so I went to someone else. I thought that at worst you'd come grab me, but I never imagined that you'd be upset enough to punch someone over it. So tell me Mateo... why? I didn't break the rules."

  3. Helena paced outside the Hecate cabin. She was an idiot, a stupid idiot. He wasn't supposed to hit him. She thought to herself. He was just supposed to get jealous and drag me away. It had been a dangerous game she played during the volleyball game. As soon as it finished she watched Mateo leave, and assumed he had gone to his cabin. When she arrived, however, he wasn't there. All she had wanted was his attention, and now Theo was hurt. Admittedly, she wasn't that broken up about it, he wasn't a great person. But she was upset at how deeply it had affected Mateo.

How was I supposed to know he would get that angry? Lena knew that Mateo loved her. She could quite literally feel it as a child of Aphrodite. Even if he couldn't admit it himself, Helena knew. Still she was desperate for him to come to acceptance of it. She had waited years for him to notice her, and she didn't want to be patient anymore. She wanted that happily ever after she knew they were going to have one day. All she had wanted was for Mateo to get a little jealous and steal her attention for himself. It had backfired big time.

She paced for hours before she finally heard footsteps approaching. Biting her lip, she looked up at him. "I'm an idiot..." She said by way of apology.

  4. Helena was less than happy when all Mateo could spare her was a quick glance. He didn't even wave. She crossed her arms and got a bit huffy. She hadn't expected him to immediately run to her side--okay, maybe a little--but she had at least expected that he would acknowledge her. Fine. I'll get someone else's attention.

She looked around and noticed that Gael and Theo were chatting with one another. Helena channeled her brothers and sisters, and walked over to the two boys. "Hey boys. Anyone know how we're picking teams?" She then gasped and grabbed Theo's arm. "Wow... I never realized how strong you were before Theo. You been working out lately?"

Helena hoped that Mateo would notice that she had other options. She could flirt with people who weren't him. She could kiss them if she wanted to. She would wait for him for eternity, but he didn't need to know that. If he didn't feel any urgency, he might never realize his feelings. Helena didn't want to wait forever for him. Maybe he just needed a reminder that she could move on if he waited too long.

  5. "Oh! That's wonderful!" Lena beamed. She had been anticipating the girl not being willing to admit her feelings, but she just came right out and said it. "Honey, why on earth would you ever want to get rid of that feeling? Love is one of the best feelings on earth. It's what makes life worth living." She truly believed that. Despite the pain she felt right now waiting for Mateo to come to his senses, she truly believed that in the end it would all be worth it. They would have a love story for the ages.

Taking a seat next to Samantha, she smiled. "You know... Nothing says you have to do anything about them at all." She could tell that this was a new and strange experience for the girl. Helena had years to come to terms with her feelings for Mateo before he even noticed her. Samantha had, maybe, a few days to realize how she felt. "Love can be terrifying. It makes you vulnerable." She smiled reassuringly at the girl, showing that she empathized. "I'm terrified every day that the person I love won't ever realize he loves me too." She looked up at the sky as she confessed her feelings. "But, then I would miss out on all the moments that make me smile. Like when he protected me during Capture the Flag, or when he tries to get my attention when I don't just give it to him in a group."

"I'm not going to tell you it'll always be easy. But you might just like where things go... if you gave it a shot."

  6. Helena sighed. "Just give it back to her Levi." She waved and turned to walk back into her room. The pity thing didn't really work with Helena any more than it worked with Levi. However, usually Helena would have typically have at least tried striking a deal with Levi or making any sort of conversation. Lately, however, she had been sulking. Everyone in their cabin knew why. You'd have had to have been completely out of the loop in Cabin 10 to not know that Helena had been enamored of Mateo for years, and had finally gotten his attention. And you'd have had to have been completely inept with your abilities to not know that they loved one another. But Mateo couldn't admit it. And as such, Helena was sullen.

She stiffened and turned back around upon hearing Mateo's name. Looking over at Levi, she said, "Oh... so those were his plans today?" She turned back to face him. "Is... is he doing okay?" She hadn't seen him for a while, and while she knew he was perfectly capable of taking care of himself, she hoped that he was still emotionally okay. But not too okay. She wanted him to miss her presence and crave her like she craved him. She didn't want him to suffer though, that hadn't been her goal in taking her space. She just needed him to realize that he wanted her as much as she wanted him.

  7. Helena had been asked to meet the most unlikely person. It wasn't like Samantha and her didn't get along. They were civil. But that was about the most she could say. And that was far better than any of her siblings had it with the girl. The daughter of Athena was well-known for being prudish and judgmental, something that didn't tend to blend well with children of Aphrodite. Part of her concern was that Samantha might have finally figured out what her and Mateo were doing behind closed doors and she was going to attempt to save Helena's soul or whatever. But something told her that this was more personal. There was a new spark in the girl that Lena had only just been able to pinpoint. So she headed to the amphitheater hoping that it was assistance the girl was seeking, rather than giving a lecture.

As she arrived at the amphitheater, Helena smiled. "Well hello Samantha. What can I do for you?" She said, walking down the incline to go meet the girl. "Looking for help with an outfit to the next party?" Love and fashion advice, those were the bread and butter of the Aphrodite campers. Fashion was always the safest one to ask about, because people tended to get touchy where love was concerned. Lena hoped that Sam was ready to hear whatever it was she was asking for today.

  8. "I'll be as careful as I ever am." That was about all Helena could promise him. When it came to her heart, Helena would do just about anything to achieve what she wanted. And she had only ever wanted one thing. If that meant letting herself hurt over and over again until he finally figured it out, she would do it. But she could try her best to avoid some of the pitfalls. "Thanks."

"If I want out, I can tear the contract." Lena said with a smile. There wasn't a lot of details known about things with her and Mateo at camp. Nobody but her and Mateo had known about the contract, until now. She trusted that James would keep it secret. "But I think we have to worry more about me needing to get out but being unwilling to admit it, don't you?" She chuckled. Helena had grown a lot from the shy girl that had first started at the camp. She was no longer that sweet and innocent girl afraid of her own power. But some things never changed. She was still the girl that would let herself get used over and over if it meant the other's happiness. Especially where Mateo was concerned.

"I'll come find you if I need someone. Promise."

  9. It felt like it had been an eternity since she had spent time with Mateo. The days seemed to last forever. But she refused to let herself screw things up by expecting him to be ready for a relationship he wasn't ready for. So she just kept her distance and made him come to her. But it was hard. He had been everything she had ever wanted since shortly after her arrival at camp, and now that he was just within her reach she couldn't afford to sabotage things before they really started.

Lena had been in her room trying to take her mind off things by reading a romance novel when she heard her siblings causing a raucous. Rolling her eyes, Helena sat up on the bed and placed the book on the bedside table. She could return to it later, but how was she supposed to focus with all this yelling going on. "Could you two keep it down?" She leaned herself in the doorway. "I'm really not in the mood for whatever this is." She said, waving her hand in their general direction. "Besides, Levi, don't you have plans with Killian and Mateo or something?"

  10. Lena had sort of been avoiding Mateo lately. With the holidays she had certain expectations of a partner, but she knew he wasn't anywhere near accepting that they were in a relationship. No matter how desperately she wanted it. She refused to use her charmspeak to get it--because then it wouldn't mean anything. So, in an effort to keep herself from getting upset with him for not meeting her expectations, she had been going out of her way to avoid him unless he sought her out.

When she heard about the volleyball game, she thought that could be a fairly decent distraction. There wasn't much else to do around camp right now. It was fairly quiet with most of the campers back home for the school year. The handful of them that were year-round this year had been keeping themselves busy rebuilding training dummies and such over the last few months. But even that was done now. So Lena had been reading romance novels. But even those were getting old. So the game was just what she needed.

Putting on a pair of leggings, sports bra, and leather jacket, Lena made her way to the volleyball court. As she arrived she saw Mateo chatting with one of his sisters and that Sage girl from the Athena cabin. Biting her lip, she kept herself at the opposite side of the court from him. Why does he always look so good... She complained internally.

  11. Mateo guided her along his shaft, up and down, repeating the motions. He teased her clit, and made her ache with desire for him. Helena was already on the edge, and the more he teased the harder it became for her to contain herself. Lena let out a moan that echoed into the forest behind them. She hoped that it wouldn't be heard at camp, though she knew she had gone well past any sort of truly caring. She was, and forever would be, Mateo's now.

As he pulled her up off him, and stood her there, she watched as his hand went to his cock. She bit her lip desperate for more of him. So as he invited her to help, Helena eagerly obeyed. She sunk down onto her knees and moved her mouth to the tip of his shaft, enveloping it once more. She let her tongue run along the head, lapping eagerly. Her eyes looked up at him for approval, seeking guidance if he needed anything more from her. If she could bring him his own release, Helena believed that there wouldn't be any going back for him either. She had to believe that.

"Please cum for me, master." She quickly spoke, before returning her mouth to its task, pressing her breasts together to catch any of his cum that might spill from her mouth.

  12. Helena had been hesitant to seek out Mateo since the game of Capture the Flag. They still spent time together when he sought her out, they still engaged in their activities that the contract provisioned for, but Helena took some space for her own sanity. It wasn't easy being the only person in the relationship that knew how he felt about her. It's not even a relationship. She begrudgingly reminded herself.

As she arrived at the beach, she saw him sitting and running his fingers in the sand. From back here, she remembered exactly why she was so smitten with him. He was beautiful, mysterious, and there was more to him than anyone gave him credit for. He seemed so peaceful and at ease right now. Helena was content to stay back and look at him from here. She had no plans to go join him for now. After all, he wouldn't ever realize his feelings on his own if she didn't make him realize what her absence felt like. Sure, she could give him a push. Amokinesis was a powerful thing. But it wouldn't mean anything to her if he didn't come to that conclusion of his own free will, and if he didn't love her of his own volition. He had to get there on his own.

Hearing frustrated tones, and feeling the pangs of jealousy that only a hurt lover could give, Helena looked over the crowd to see Levi being a problem in the middle of the couple that she had only recently urged together. Rolling her eyes, Helena decided that she would do her best to rescue the obviously flustered McKayla, Delaney, and Zoren. Walking over, she spoke to her brother. "Brother dear, Mateo and I are over here!" She gave him a sweet smile and beckoned him to come join her by holding out her hand for him. She hadn't planned on joining Mateo unless he sought her out, but she wasn't going to let Levi ruin the whole cabin's reputation by harassing everyone else either.

  13. Helena could feel her heart sink as Mateo called it just an understanding. She wasn't sure what she had expected. Or, rather, she knew better than to get her hopes up that he would call it any sort of real commitment. Still, it hurt to watch him reply that way. The hand that she had been resting on his back, she moved off him.

She turned her gaze forward, content to ignore their conversation for as long as Shadow remained, lest she hear more things she didn't want to hear. Before she could completely tune them out though, she did catch confirmation of Shadow's true intentions for returning to camp. He wanted Lilythe back. Everyone had assumed so. There was no other reason he would return. He was a fully grown adult that knew how to protect himself. He had nothing left to learn from the camp. In a way, she felt bad for him. She knew what it was like to have eyes for only one person. But what Shadow had done in the name of love--that was wrong. Helena couldn't imagine being so possessive over Mateo to the point where he couldn't have friends or spend time with others. Shadow didn't love Lilythe, he was obsessed.

She tried to turn her attention to the Red team, but the spell had weakened and she couldn't hear them anymore. She bit her lip. It was a shame, she would have welcomed the distraction from the ache she felt now.

  14. Helena had never been with anyone. She hadn't kissed anyone before tonight, let alone gone this far. For all intents and purposes, she really had saved herself for Mateo. The girl had been in love with him since she saw him when she was 13 years old. She hadn't known how good it would feel for him to touch her. She had no preparation for the overwhelming desire that his kiss had awoken in her. And she had no way to fathom how completely euphoric she would feel with him inside her. Her imagination hadn't done any of it justice.

As he pushed deeper into her, Lena winced ever so slightly as he took the very last thing she had left to give. She tried to stifle the small gasp of mixed pain and pleasure in her kiss. But before long he began to lift her up and pull her back down along his firm cock. Helena dug her nails into his back to hold on. She nipped at his lower lip as the sheer pleasure began to course through her. Mateo brought her down onto him over and over, and she could feel herself growing more wet with each thrust.

"Gods don't stop..." Helena whispered against his lips, breaking the kiss only for a moment to catch her breath. It hadn't taken her long to adjust to him, and now that she had only wanted more. Each time he moved into her, she could feel herself drawing closer and closer to the edge.

  15. Mateo spun her out and back to him. Lena couldn't deny that she was enjoying herself. He may not have done this much, but he was managing to get the rhythm down. That was really all that mattered for dancing. And Helena couldn't have been happier. "Works like a charm." Helena said with a grin.

As he asked about that Nike child and Athena child, Helena nodded. "Yes. He's head over heels for her, and she just hadn't realized her own feelings yet." Lena tilted her head as she continued to sway with him. Her mind was swimming with worries. He said that there wasn't a reason to ask. But she couldn't help but be concerned. She had no proof to give her concern. He was acting perfectly fine. Still, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was bothering him.

Helena refused to rock the boat, however. If this was going to end in fire, she was going to let him light the match. Not her.

  16. Helena's eyes flew open wide. Oh no. Oh no no no no. Lena was not ready for what Shadow had asked Mateo. Not because she didn't want an answer. Hell, she would have given just about anything for an answer. But she hadn't worked up the courage herself to ask Mateo that question. Now here he was being put on the spot. Feelings that she knew he had or not, this was a flight risk situation.

Helena froze. Her eyes darted back and forth between Shadow and Mateo. She wanted to shout obscenities at Shadow or hex his clothes or any number of things. She had Charmspeak. She could make him go away with a simple suggestion. But it wouldn't undo anything. It wouldn't take the question back. And if she used that power like that, Lena knew that it wouldn't help things with Mateo. The last thing she needed was for him to think she used that to control him.

This was absolutely her worst nightmare situation. And all she could do was await Mateo's response to see how things unfolded. Her attention was no longer on the other team. Her heart pounded heavily in her chest.

  17. They always say that. Helena had heard it for years. Every time she cried because he was with his ex. Every time she fretted that she would never find anyone because she only ever wanted him. Every time she wondered why he hadn't noticed her. Her older siblings had always tried to assure her that there were plenty of fish in the sea for her. That she was still young and beautiful and had so many other options. But I know what I feel.

Helena looked over at James. He was a nice guy. Nice guys deserved to have good things. She wasn't sure exactly how she could encourage him to just go for it without explicitly telling him how Larissa felt. "Is that advice for me or for yourself?" She asked with a bit of a smirk on her face. Lena was completely certain that James didn't realize just how much of a chance he really had if he would just learn to take his own advice.

"Choosing his comfort is choosing my comfort. I remember how miserable I was before we...connected." The euphemism was going to have to be enough for James to understand, because she did not need the younger campers overhearing and knowing just exactly how explicit their relationship was. "I can only assume that now that we have it would be worse. So while I'm not comfortable not having label, I would be even worse if asking for one made him leave." She sighed. The conversation was going to keep going in circles at this rate.

Lena was a little grateful when he chose to respond to her comments about herself. "James... the only other child of Aphrodite that was like me were Silena Beauregard. And she was a one man woman. And her man truly loved her. It was the stuff of stories." She sighed and let herself slide down into a sitting position in the stalls. "I'm definitely like them... but Mateo's nothing like Charles." Helena chose not to mention that Silena had died. Helena never met her or Charles. They had both died during the wars that had ended right before Helena got to camp. But she heard stories of their epic love from her siblings. She idolized Silena and Charles's relationship. "I'm just... I'm tired of people telling me I'm too young to know what I want. And I'm tired of people thinking that I'll just get over him if he leaves. And I never expected things to be a fairytale for Mateo and I, but... I just want some... I don't know..."

Helena had hung her head after the last words, but she snapped it back up to look at James when he asked her to promise she would go to him. "Wouldn't that put you in an awkward position? I mean... if I need someone to talk to, it'll be about Mateo, and... aren't you friends?" Helena really was a kind hearted girl. The last thing she ever wanted was to make James feel like he had to betray a friend. "You're a good guy James. I don't want to take advantage of that kindness."

  18. Helena let out a sharp gasp of pleasure as Mateo began to suck firmly on her neck. She could feel a small mark already starting to form. I'm his. She thought to herself. That's what that mark means. It wasn't permanent, plenty of her siblings had come back to the cabin with hickeys. They always faded after a few days. But for now, Mateo had made sure that the entire camp--anyone who caught a glimpse of her neck anyway--would know that she was his. And it was with that knowledge that Helena allowed herself to succumb to him.

It didn't take much prompting for Lena to let him flip her around. She blushed slightly as he told her to jump, but obeyed immediately. His firm grip on her hips allowed her to align herself perfectly with his cock. Letting him guide her, Lena straddled his body and locked her legs around his waist. Slowly she felt it as she sunk down onto him and moaned softly with each inch. It wasn't long before he stopped, just barely inside her. It drove her crazy. She wanted him. All of him. She had for years. Helena was beyond reason now. She was seconds away from getting everything that she had desired, and she couldn't help herself. She begged. "Please, master..."

Helena held herself there on him for a moment letting herself adjust, before biting her lip and trying to take him in. He had said inch by in, so she wanted to follow that directive. Slowly, she tried to push herself down onto his shaft. Each inch only made her want more. The pace was agonizingly slow. And yet somehow was the perfect pace all at the same time. He was driving her wild with want for him, but she never felt like she was lacking.  She kissed his lips passionately.

  19. Helena had been absolutely content to spend her time cuddled up next to Mateo while spying on the enemy team. It was something that allowed her to feel actually useful in capture the flag for once. She listened in on the continued conversation of the red team while she heard footsteps approaching.

Rumors had flown that Shadow had returned. Anyone who had been there more than just the summer knew who he was. How could you not? Lilythe was, perhaps, the most well-known face at camp, and he had been her boyfriend for several years. They went everywhere together when she wasn't working her shifts at The Big House or performing duties as the de facto head of the Cabin Leaders. Helena could remember a time when she truly felt like Shadow loved Lilythe. It had warped over time, though. Turned into something that didn't really resemble love anymore. This was the side of her mother's world  that scared Helena.

She didn't hate Shadow. She didn't really know him all that well. But she didn't feel comfortable in his presence either. Not anymore. Not since that love had changed. Children of Aphrodite could sense desire like it was a tangible thing. It didn't matter if someone spoke about it, they knew. That's why--even though Mateo may never say it--she felt secure in his feelings for her. But the energy that radiated off of Shadow since he had changed was uncomfortable. Still, Helena didn't treat him any differently. In a way, she felt badly for him. She just hoped that one day he would find a new, healthier love.

"Keep your voice down!" She whispered sharply and gestured to the older camper. Her cheeks were absolutely bright pink with embarrassment. Helena didn't mind that the entire camp knew that her and Mateo were intimate with one another. She still wasn't entirely ready to hear people talking about it. She was young, and hadn't quite gotten to that stage of confidence yet. But as Mateo looked at her and gave her that smirk, she bit her lip gently and suddenly forgave the embarrassment she had just felt.

  20. Helena couldn't exactly be sure why Mateo was so insistent on her coming with him, but she was pleased that he was. She could feel the emotion he wouldn't speak. So she didn't need him to say it to know he felt it, Perl of being a child of Aphrodite.

Mateo cast the spell, but it seemed like it was going to take some real effort to keep it going. He told her to listen to what they were saying. At first it seemed far away, but the more he concentrated the better she could hear. The other team was making plans to scout the forest to find the blue team's hidden flag. They were going to split off into groups and try to come at it from multiple sides.

Helena placed a hand on Mateo's back to comfort him. She could tell that the spell was taking a bit out of him. She listened as best she could and relayed the information softly. "They're going to try and assault from three fronts."
  21. Helena wasn't exactly expecting Mateo to come looking for her during the event. He could be competitive in a way she just wasn't, and so she figured he would team up with the boys and she would see him after. She wasn't overfond of Capture the Flag, but she wasn't opposed to it. She had been casually resting against a tree when he walked up. "Well hey there handsome." Lena didn't have long to appreciate the view of his smile before he grabbed her hand and started pulling her along behind him. For a moment she was going to object--after all, their agreement on him telling her what to do was limited to one aspect of their lives--but she could tell he was determined to include her in whatever his plans were. And a very large part of her was pleased to see that he would rather spend his time with her than the boys, even when it was expected for him to be with them.

As they arrived at their destination. Mateo pulled her down and told her to watch the other team. She laid there on the ground next to him, silently watching the red team members. She couldn't hear things very well, but she could see some pointing and could tell that they were making plans. She looked over at Mateo and mouthed softly, "I can't hear them." She hoped he'd have a spell or something that could enhance things. Though, it was the wrong time of day for him to be casting. Hopefully even a weak spell would do.
