  1. Dancing became boring after a while, but she wasn't going to stop. After all, Mateo was engrossed in his game and it wasn't like he was going to be paying attention to her much until it was over. So Lena kept dancing but let her eyes scan the room. Parties always seemed to bring out the intense emotions in people, and she could literally feel when others around her felt love. She searched for the sources round her that she could give a little nudge to as a means of entertainment. Helena would never attempt to make someone love someone that they didn't already have feelings for, but she wasn't above giving people a small push to get things started.

As she scanned the room her eyes fell on McKayla and Zoren. The tension from the boy was palpable. It was clear that he had feelings for her and she was oblivious. Though, if Helena wasn't mistaken, there was just the tiniest spark in McKayla too. That's all I need. She subtly moved her fingers in their direction. Just the tiniest little push. Lena hoped she hadn't overdone it. Manipulating people's emotions was difficult and it was too easy to go too far. That was largely why she had sworn never to mess with anyone that didn't already have those feelings. It was too easy to create an obsession, and outright controlling people against their free will seemed a bit gross to her.

As the song ended, Helena smiled sweetly at her current dance partner and excused herself to turn to the next boy. She could feel his adoration immediately and almost felt a little guilty dancing with him. I don't really want to lead him on... She also didn't really have a way to politely reject him. Her and Mateo hadn't really had the conversation about whether it was a real relationship or just casual. Lena made a mental note to remedy that eventually. But not just yet... Helena lost herself to the music once more, smiling over at Mateo whenever his eyes drifted back to her.

  2. Lena could feel Mateo's gaze on her as she danced with the other campers. Good. She thought to herself. If he wasn't going to join her on the dance floor, she was going to make sure that he regretted that decision. With a smirk, she began to dance with some of the Dionysus boys that were there on the dance floor. She wouldn't let them touch anything more than her hands or back--she wanted Mateo to be envious of them, not angry with her. It was a fine line she was walking. It would have been far simpler to use the natural abilities that came with being her mother's child, but Helena didn't want him like that. She wanted him to want her for her. It wasn't worth it otherwise. So she would settle for just a little bit of envy that she danced with other boys.

  3. Each kiss was like an electric spark that ran through her veins straight up her spine. She was acutely aware of him now. As he gripped her hips she could have melted against him, wanted to even. His very presence was intoxicating. His voice was like a siren's call, and she would have happily drowned to follow it. He was dangerous for her, and that was half the thrill. His challenge was accepted the instant it was uttered. Helena made it her goal to elicit as much passion from him as she was able.

As Mateo's hand explored her body, inching ever so slowly down, Helena prepared herself for it to find its mark. But that moment never came. He withdrew his hand and Helena felt her lips purse into a pout as he did so. Not only that, but he gently scolded her for not remembering her place as his"I'm sorry, sir." She bit her lip softly, letting him lift her chin to look at him. "In private only though, right?" Helena quirked her brow. While she wasn't afraid to tell anyone how she felt about the man before her, she did  have some reservations about letting their bedroom life be public. Even so, she stared into his eyes knowing that she couldn't bring herself to disappoint him. If he truly desired her to call him so in public at all times, she wouldn't be able to deny him.

His hand began to move from her chin to her chest. As it lightly grazed over her, she felt another spark course through her. Suddenly he grabbed her hand and placed it on his chest. Immediately she felt his warmth beneath her fingertips. He was hers to touch. She couldn't believe it. As he stepped closer to close the gap, her arm pressed down on him as well. And as he told her to touch away, she felt his hand press to her chest the same way. Her eyes widened as she made them meet his once more, blushing. Lena had never done anything like this before. She wouldn't let him know, but she hadn't let anyone touch her this intimately before. She hadn't even let anyone kiss her before. There had never been anyone for her, except him

"Yes, sir." She blushed as she let her hand slowly trail down his chest. Her fingers traced each muscle on her way. Touching him felt so wrong and so right all at the same time. It was a rush and comfort all wrapped into one. In that moment, nobody could have convinced her that Mateo wasn't her other half, her fate. Helena's gaze fell on his lips, wondering what they would feel like pressed against hers. She memorized the contours of his chest as her hand ran over them and as she reached the top of his swimming trunks, she bit her lip again. "Can I... master?" Her eyes looked up into his once more, pleading. She knew that he had given her permission to explore his body, but she wasn't sure how far she was allowed to go. As her heart pounded in her chest, she could feel the heat radiating off her skin. She wanted him, as much as he would give her, and all she needed was his permission to have him.

  4. What a Girl Wants

    ~Summer 2018, Early June~

The summer air was thick and hot. It was the kind of night where you prop yourself inside with a cold drink and a fan, chatting with friends and enjoying company. The girls of Cabin 10 were hosting a sleepover out in the common area. Some of their half-brothers had joined as well, though admittedly significantly fewer. Helena was brand new to the cabin, having only been claimed a few days prior, and this was an effort for her siblings to get to know her. They had spent much of the night talking about their favorite designers and what celebrities they had crushes on. Things were winding down for the evening and Helena had cuddled up into her sleeping bag when one of her sisters suggested a more daring topic: who did they have crushes on at camp?

Helena hadn't been there long enough to really know anyone yet. And at thirteen years old, she had only really just started developing crushes on people. So when it passed to her, Helena shrugged. There wasn't anyone that she had met yet that really caught her fancy. She hadn't met that many people before their mother claimed her, and since then she had mostly been in Cabin 10, not really enjoying all the attention that she received when she left. Her siblings kept telling her the makeover would go away eventually, but she wasn't really sure she believed that. Since she had been a shut in, there wasn't really much opportunity to meet boys that weren't her half-brothers.

Little did she know what the next few days would bring.

As the cabins went to breakfast the next morning, Helena's makeover finally faded. She dressed in an oversized sweatshirt and some jeans, hoping that nobody from the other cabins would recognize her. Her siblings chuckled, and some of the older ones remembered another of their siblings who had a similar reaction to the makeover. Helena's objection hadn't been to the makeover itself though, it was just the attention that it brought to her. Now that she was less obviously attractive, she was hoping that she could safely venture to the cafeteria to eat without people staring at her.

Helena made her way to the cafeteria and grabbed a tray and some pancakes. She had made it to the condiments section and began pouring on the syrup when he walked in. Helena wasn't sure what made her look up from her tray at that exact moment. Call it fate, call it coincidence, her eyes fell upon him. Mateo. Her heart began to flutter in a way that she had never felt it do before. She stopped paying attention to her task and had to be nudged by one of her siblings before the syrup overflowed off the tray and onto the counter.

Cheeks flushing, Lena took her tray over to sit near her siblings, grateful that the boy hadn't spotted her.

    ~Summer 2019, July~

Over the last year, Lena had adjusted to life at Camp Half-Blood. She had started learning how to control her powers, and had even managed to land a solid curse on a boy from the Ares cabin who tried to call her pathetic and weak. She was starting to feel more powerful by the day. It was a great feeling.

The last year had also only deepened her crush on Mateo, however. He was gorgeous. His eyes seemed to pierce the soul and look straight through you. His voice was the perfect balance of rough and melodic that caused her to melt anytime she heard him speaking. She wanted him so badly, but he didn't even really know she existed. Helena had never wanted to be an outgoing and enigmatic person, but now she would have given anything to have that kind of personality just to have a fraction of his attention. Her heart ached for him, but to him she was invisible.

She thought she was okay with that. Unrequited love was to be expected from one's first crush after all. She had read enough romance novels and watched enough romantic comedies to know that it wasn't uncommon. Each day she hoped he would notice her, or that she would find someone else to have feelings for, but knew that love took its time in all things. She could wait. Or so she thought.

One hot day in July, the Aphrodite girls got incredibly bored. Several campers had decided to take the day off from training because it was just too hot, and a good number of those had decided to wander off into the obscure parts of camp with their partners. Her sisters had decided that this was the best time to teach her how to use her power to sense and manipulate love as a way to track people down. They started in the forest on grounds. They had brought her out there blindfolded, and told her that she would be successful if she was able to lead them to even on other couple that was off in the woods. Helena accepted the challenge. This could be fun.

It took almost an hour, but she eventually began to feel the lust of some unknown couple. She closed her eyes and let herself feel it out, trying to pinpoint the direction it was coming from. After several minutes she opened her eyes and began to walk towards where she thought it was coming from. As the feeling got stronger, she slowed her pace, trying to be quiet. After all, the goal wasn't to disturb the couple, it was simply to find them, right? Lena did her best to muffle the noise of her feet on the forest floor as she walked.

After a hike that lasted about fifteen minutes, she eventually saw light from a clearing and heard a girl's voice through the trees. She waved her siblings over and they walked to the edge of the clearing. But Helena wasn't ready for what she saw.

On the other side of the trees, as she peered through their low-hanging branches, Helena saw Mateo kissing another girl. Immediately her heart shattered. Her siblings, knowing exactly how she felt, brought her into a hug and got her out of there as quickly as possible. Tears streamed down  her face as she tried to sob silently. The last thing she wanted was for him to see her like that. The girls got her back to the cabin and Lena ran to her bunk.

She didn't leave for four days.

    ~Summer 2020~

The year had been rough. Everywhere she went there were reminders that the one and only person she had ever developed feelings for was happy with someone else. As the sun began to stay out longer, and the kids who left to go back to public school began to trickle back in, Helena found herself doing her best to keep busy. She spent a ton of time in the pegasus stables, mucking them and taking the creatures out for a fly every now and then. When she wasn't doing that she would go help organize the armory or tidy up the various art stations around the camp. Nothing seemed to work though, it seemed like wherever she went Mateo would show up.

So Helena tried to force herself to go on a date with some of the other campers. There were plenty of boys that were interested in her. She was attractive, powerful, and friendly. Most demigods considered her a catch. But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't force herself to have feelings for any of them. They all fawned over her. It was sweet enough, but it wasn't what she wanted. Lena wanted someone who would show her passion, not adoration.

Between her dates and the extra work, summer drifted by quickly, and soon her crush left to return for his final year of High School. Helena had never been so happy for him to leave the camp.

    ~Early July, 2021~

This was the summer she was determined to get over her crush. It had been three years. Two of them he had been with someone else. Last summer had been absolutely painful. She was fairly certain she couldn't stand another summer watching him kiss and hold this other girl if she didn't force herself to get over it. She tried again to go on dates, but they all ended with her significant disinterest as the boys acted as if they were enthralled by her. Is it so hard to find someone to be my equal?

When the whispers occurred that Mateo was back at camp, and Helena had no luck at forcing herself to move on yet, she found herself hiding out in the far reaches of the campgrounds. Her favorite spot was a secluded spot on the beach where she could listen to the waves and relax. It was rare that anyone bothered her there.

She had no idea that the spot would soon deliver everything she had ever wanted.

  5. Helena had been ready to laugh at James' clear embarrassment. He hadn't expected anyone to be in there and that was clear, and she could see him scratching his head with that look on his face that indicated clear embarrassment. However, he struck back with a comment she hadn't been expecting. As he asked about Mateo, Helena's eyes widened and her cheeks flushed. "What? Why would he...? I mean obviously he's..." She couldn't finish her sentence. It wasn't exactly a big secret that the two of them were cozy. And last night at the party she had clearly shown him affection before he walked right over to James, so it wasn't like there was no reason for him to question it. But now Helena was curious exactly how much people knew or speculated about the nature of their relationship. Especially after last night since she couldn't remember all of it. Dionysus parties were not for the faint of heart.

"How much do you know?" She bit her lip nervously and looked down at her feet. Helena wasn't even sure she knew what to call Mateo in public. They hadn't really discussed whether this was a true relationship, or if it was purely sexual. Perhaps that was why she had found herself wandering over to the stables that morning. It was a nice and calm place that she could think and avoid others. Maybe she had been trying to figure out how she felt about things with Mateo so she could talk to him about it.

Helena wasn't always the girl she is now. When she was younger, she was much more shy and sweet. However, despite her more demure nature, she always wanted something more. Something to spark a fire in her.

Below are the tales of the times before she was his. When she dared to dream, to want, and when she let her own weakness prevent her from pursuing those desires. There are tales of happiness and sadness.

  7. Today had been a very eventful day at the bonfire. Several of the new campers were claimed, and it was definitely a cause for celebration. So when Mateo showed up outside the Aphrodite cabin, Lena was not surprised in the least at his news. "Cabin 12?" She was glad she had opted for a strappy black dress rather than her usual jeans and v-neck top when he asked her to wear something sexy. A party seemed the perfect place to debut the new ensemble, and she was determined to test just how much Mateo was willing to let her walk away from him while looking this good. "It's bound to be a good one. Aislynn's back this summer." The child of Dionysus had a reputation for creating just a bit of mayhem. Both sides of her father were alive and well in her.

She had to admit she was a little surprised when, as they got to the party, he handed her a drink and sent her on her way. But it was no matter. By now everyone knew they had arrived together, and she would make sure that they left together too. Taking a sip of the jungle juice, and kissing Mateo's cheek, Helena waved to James before heading out onto the dance floor.

As the music played, she let her body sway to the rhythm. It wasn't long before her fellow campers joined her. Some of the more brave ones would reach a hand out to her, and she'd gladly oblige with a twirl or two before moving elsewhere in the crowd. Helena, despite feeling most comfortable in the shadows, had learned to accept the attention that came with being a daughter of Aphrodite. She would just need to have some down time and recharge after the festivities of tonight. It's all worth it, if it keeps him interested. Lena thought to herself.

  8. Lena could feel his lips move softly against her ears as Mateo whispered the one questions she had hoped he wouldn't ask. She knew exactly why it was him. Ever since she was old enough to notice boys, she had noticed him. He was gorgeous, mysterious, and possibly very dangerous. Unlike most of her sisters and brothers, Lena didn't enjoy the smooth sailing in love that came with being their mother's children. The safety of genuine love, without the rough edge of passion didn't appeal to her. She wanted love to feel like a storm ripping her world apart and creating something new. She wanted adventure and passion, with just a hint of uncertainty. A wild ride that left her begging for more. Mateo would give her all of that, she was certain. "Because you're one of the few people I think can give me what I actually want." She answered honestly. "Real passion."

His hands pulled her back against him tightly, and she could feel him hard against her. What she wouldn't give for the scraps of clothing between them to vanish in that moment. Helena's breath grew uneven as the excitement began to build. Her heart raced in her chest and she felt every caress of his hands against her skin. As his finger slid beneath the line of her bathing suit, she found herself in complete anticipation. He was so close, yet so far from what she wanted. Teasing her, and she knew it.

And then he asked her the one question she had desired above all else. Of course she wanted to touch. She wanted to feel his skin against hers, his lips pressed firmly to hers, his body intertwined with hers. So as he breathed the question, his hot breath on her neck, Lena found herself nodding immediately. "Yes." She swallowed, trying hard to restore her breath to an even pace. "Can I? Please?" Lena was well aware of the desperation in her voice, but she had imagined an encounter like this for years. Daydreaming from afar about a man who could make her feel the way he made her feel right now. And she wanted more. In that moment, Helena would do just about anything so long as it meant she would finally experience passion.

  9. Lena wasn't sure what brought her to the stables that morning. She hadn't been there for anything other than riding practice in ages. But for whatever reason, the calm atmosphere of the stables had called to her that morning. When the sun rose, she got dressed and headed down there. Lena was in one of the stalls, calming a mare who, it appeared, had recently given birth--as there was a young foal in the pen with her--when she heard the familiar voice of Tyche's cabin leader as he walked in.

Peering out from the stall, Lena smirked. "Just the one beauty here." She winked. James was a fun guy. Definitely not the kind of person she would go for, because she needed someone a bit more forceful, but the kind of guy she could be friends with and enjoy the company of. He was always fun to be around, and a bit of a goofball. Definitely good company.

Stepping out from the stall, Lena smiled. "What brings you out out here so early in the morning?"

  10. Lena smiled as he chuckled. "Well it isn't likely to come up in conversation during intimacy, is it? So it would be out of context and very obvious why I was saying it." She shrugged. It wasn't necessary to justify her choice, but she didn't want him thinking that she was a complete simpleton for picking a strange word either. It had made sense in her mind to pick something like that, which wouldn't come up in conversation often. Especially not in intimate conversation.

His finger slid across hers as he grabbed the contract from her. She felt another jolt of excitement course through her, and she felt her breath catch just a little bit. She barely had any time to think when all of a sudden he was pressed against her back. She could feel the heat from his body, and desire swelled within her. Helena had never wanted anything more than she wanted him in that moment. Biting her lip, she listened eagerly as he spoke. Take me, now. She felt herself thinking almost automatically in response to his question. The heat had become unbearable. Everything in her had called out to him.

"Isn't that up to you...sir?" Lena smirked and tried to play it off as if she wouldn't be absolutely devastated if he turned and walked away right now. But she would be. Subconsciously, she pressed herself back against him, letting the curve of her spine press to his chest, and her ass press firmly against his groin. She wanted to reach back and touch him, show him the desire she felt. But she knew she wasn't meant to. He was in charge after all. That was what she had signed. And now every fleeting desire she had, belonged to  him. Every passionate thought, was for him. But only when he said so. And that thought thrilled her.

  11. It had been only a day since Lena had signed herself away to him. As soon as she made her way to the bonfire, she could feel his presence though. Mateo. Every bit of her wanted to go to his side, feel more of what he elicited from her. But that wouldn't have been appropriate. Her cabin needed her for now. So she walked right past him, giving a small wink, as she made her way over to sit with the others from Aphrodite's cabin.

The bonfire was always interesting. Finding out where the new kids belonged was definitely one of the biggest forms of entertainment at camp. The mystery that led up to it, and the final reveal. All of it kept campers talking for days. Lena watched the new campers that Lilythe had led before them, wondering whether any of them would be her new brother or sister.

  12. Helena felt just the slightest tinge of nerves as he frowned. She had expected he would be enthused by the fact that she was willing to agree without question. Immediately the thought crossed her mind that she had made a mistake in being eager. But the look only lasted a mere instant and then he seemed once again intrigued by the idea of having a new toy to play with. "No questions come to mind. The contract seemed pretty self-explanatory. And besides, how will I know if I like something if I don't try it." Lena winked at him. She gazed into his eyes as he lifted them to look up at her, and had to stop herself from leaning in towards him. Ever so curious, was she, what his lips might taste like. "A safeword does seem intelligent though. Pineapple?" The girl had no intention of using it, but it was better to have one in case he did cross a boundary that she determined was uncomfortable, than to not.

The feel of his fingers against her neck sent a soft shiver down Lena's spine. She didn't dignify his question with a response. He already knew the answer, or he wouldn't have asked. The effect he had on her was apparent, and she knew it. Though, she no longer cared. Taking the pen that he had conjured, Lena balanced the parchment on her thigh and began to sign. The ink glided ever so elegantly across the parchment, and before long her signature was complete. There it was, in writing as plain as day. Helena now belonged to this man.

She could feel his eyes lingering on her curves as he let them wander her body. As she straightened back up, she wanted to turn to see his face and know that he was pleased with her decision. She didn't know if she should though. If one small touch could have such an effect on her, she wasn't sure she could handle the full effects of his desire without easing into it. Instead, Lena held the parchment to her side so that he could grab it from her. "I'm all yours..."
