  1. Azrael twirled the blade in his hand "Mostly being that distraction we talked about.." he said with a flourish. He had been looking after the younglings on his side, but had heard about how much she had made her mark made upon the game so far.

He began to slowly circle her, beginning to push her to move back and out of the reach of the flag, making space from both of them "You know, I hear Dustin teaches a good class on using those. though I would wait until after the game. He tends to be a bit ruthless when the game is going."

The assault on the flag shouldn't be a one man plan, but he could be the front line distraction for as long as he could, sure he could charge over her for the flag and make a break for it, but that didn't seem the fairest... yet.

  2. Azrael had been trying to avoid taking to the field too directly, he knew Lilythe had sorted the teams so that there were a couple of older campers on each side but dueling off against the campers, some of which were literally half his size seemed a bit much. Thinking about the others lead him back to thoughts of facing off against Lilythe while their reconciliation was still in its early stages or Shadow, would their duel on the top of Zeus' fist.. hell it had nearly happened again with that new child of Iris..

Pulling himself together, he began to slowly creep through the depths of the undergrowth towards a familiar and very tantalizing cloth of a blue flag. He said a silent prayer to mother that this was not just another illusion or trick as he reached out to pull the flag back and into the bushes.....

  3. Azrael looked up at the newcomer with a smile. A chance to help the team if they needed reinforcements but mostly someone else to help the kids come out of their shell, the Demeter kids were always friendly and good with the younger ones. For now though he wanted to make sure the younglings were comfortable and if they were well defended and another body in the area would help with that.

"Cupcakes are the cornerstone of any major battle. A good life lesson" he said smiling, Luca was definitely on board with the planning so

"We are most definitely still making the plan, and if you want a cupcake you need to grab one from the jail." pointing over to the napsack to one side. "oh and pick a flavor for yourself while you are at it." the looking back to the kids "Looks like you have a teleporting cupcake to add to the plan."

Upon hearing about the cookie choices of the other side he made sure they could know the seriousness of the fight this day. "Raisins.. see the blue cookie team really as the monsters!" He put a hand to his chest "We really need to defeat them and their.." pointing to the can at the other side of the stone surface "Dew-y flag once and for all!"

  4. Azrael looked down the slight colorful child in front of him. "You know I am not the only guard up here and I don't think you want to try a sword fight on a rocky precipice or to investigate the jail part of the game.." he said matter of fact. I don't want to fight a child, worse if she fell, I guess if it comes to it she can be restrained and dropped off in neutral ground.

He just had to take the time to let the rest of the defenders get close enough, even Derrick or Octavia could likely take this one down given her lack of stance or posture with the blade. As she started to make more noise he was glad this would likely bring more of the red team's attention.

"Azrael, Nemesis Cabin. You are definitely a loud and insistent one." He moved up and making an X with his blades caught hers, using her hold to the blade to push her back from the flag. "Derrick, if your hidden nearby, the shackles would be useful about now."

  5. Azrael had taken the time to check the cave system for monsters earlier, at least the main tunnels and was pretty sure of the fortified position from threats both inside and out.

He "Nemesis gave me a bit of luck as well as a sense when someone has a grudge, but mostly cabin sixteen just tend to be a bull headed when we set our minds to something. I have been in a good few battles alongside.. Camp Director Raynes.. and things though so I can help from that side." he explained, choosing to skip the thought that they were on opposite sides of the field, not wanting to dwell on that too much. "But this one is going to be a bit longer with more flags so I wanted to make sure you didn't get too dragged into the fray too quickly." He knew everyone would get involved in the game but the first few assaults tended to get the worst of the recklessness out of the way, this way he could at least keep an eye on them and make sure the kids avoided the worst of the battlefield chaos.

Hearing Octavia more comfortable with making a plan he realized just how much the little girls laid back attitude and infectious friendliness reminded him of James. With a smile he continued "There are folks on the other side who can make you see things or not see things as they like, though they tend to do it more at night. I am sure the games will be over by then" he said reassuringly  "But If you want to make a plan I can help distract the other side or stand in the way of trouble. I just know how busy these things get, especially with weapons involved."

He started to pull pastries and cans of soda out from his backpack and found a large flat surface in the rocks.

"So if you want a plan, you have the river" he said making a line of sand across the middle of the makeshift table, then placing down two cans if soda "and then each team has their flag" then pulling out some small cupcakes he placed them around one can, then some wrapped cookies and put them around the other "then each of the flags has their own team to defend and go after the flag." as he pointed from the cookies at one can over to the muffins at the other..

"So if we are team cupcakes, how do we steal the mountain dew flag from team cookie?" he asked the kids with a smile.

  6. Azrael flicked out with the flat of his blade as her fingers reached out. "You might need to do more than a snatch and grab" He kept circling with her.

He had mostly kept a low profile since his return to the camp from New Rome but he knew that Dustin had been leading the sword fighting activities recently. He didn't recognize this camper though. "Lets see how your sword work holds up, I am sure Ares Cabin has taught you well".

He looked at the rainbow hair and guessed Iris as parentage, another cabin that had sprung up along with his after the promises were pulled from the gods. They might not be known for their fighting prowess but he had met so many campers over the years that had exceeded expectations.. "Or if you want to retreat you can see about returning with reinforcements? It is a team game after all"

  7. Zeus' fist was a tall and rocky pile of boulders, filled with many gaps and crags that made it a solid place for the flag to be set, easy to see but tough to climb.

Azrael had set the flag himself after its last capture and had kept himself hidden nearby. He had been ready to fend off the magics and speed of the other side, he was less ready to face down this rainbow haired youngster.

His mother Nemesis had a bit of luck to grant him as he spotted her climbing up the boulders. He knew that from up here a fall could hurt having inflicted it in the past. He waited until she made it to a relative flat surface before moving in, the butt of a dagger clanging off the side of her helmet. He took up a combat stance between her and the flag, remembering this was just a training exercise.

"Watch your footing, these rocks get pretty slippery" he said, keeping an eye out for more invaders.

  8. [RED Team ] RP challenge: (9) Bring sustenance to your teammates.

Azrael took the time to setup a small camp in the mouth of the cave system, aiming to find a fortified position he could setup the kids so they were not in immediate sight and in a defensible location. He had known that the amount of magic and speed the combined forces of Hermes and Hecate needed more than just the luck his mother gave him.

He pulled the youngest of the team together and decided to stick with them over the normal running heroics of the old days. He lead them a distance away from the worst of the activity and set they into a good location and making sure to sort a close watch on it.

He looked around and caught the attention of @ Derrick Raines  and @ Octavia Davis "Lets get somewhere out of the front line" as he pulled a backpack onto his shoulder.

Azrael made sure there was a soft light hidden within the cave mouth and set out some snacks (chips and a bag full of cookies form the big house) and drinks on a set of rocks, and made sure everyone was okay.. he knew they could only have a certain number of folks guarding the flag itself so keeping them in a safer place with at least one of the older lot seemed a good plan.

"So.. we don't want to get caught up in the worst of the fighting. But from here we can keep an eye out and see if anyone tries to sneak up on us. But for now I can keep watch so we have a chance to settle down with some snacks, just keep your swords nearby.. and watch out for any speedy Hermes types or weird magic going on.."

He looked them over thinking about the way the games often played out.

"And if you want to get into the thick of it, I can keep an eye out for trouble if you want to go after a flag." He knew with all the weapons and chaos he couldn't keep them from all harms but here would at least settle them before any action kicked off.

  9. Carter Price Rewrite
    300x470

    biography

Lazy, lacking in energy or motivation. These were the things that Carter heard from point he could start to understand. He had always been a quiet child, able to entertain himself and rarely if ever cried. It was only as he started to grow into a toddler that this muted rhythm of life seemed to become a characteristic over a phase.

He was often seen to be staring into the distance or lethargic for large portions of the day. His mother took him to experts but they could find nothing physiological that would answer these symptoms, he was mostly seen as having learning difficulties and these became more pronounced with his delays in reading and then into writing.

He had a good if uneventful childhood - struggling to learn or pay attention in classes and even when moving to special needs he was still hard to pull into focus.

It was only around the age of ten that the boy really managed to take stock of his predicament, he returned to consciousness after another long night of sleep but had awoken as a lucid dreamer, the gift of full recollection and awareness within dreams.

In that night he had been able to grasp the wisps of the dreaming realm that had always left his hold before. He had met another dreamer while walking in a golden city and learned tales of the dreamlands and all its paths. Little could he tell if he had met the figure in the past as is the way of dreamlands but now he was clear within his mind.

From this moment onward Carter changed, his ability to concentrate or focus on a task at hand would be diminished, especially if it involved reading or writing but his capabilities and knowledges improved though how he made such leaps and bounds were less common.

Alongside him at the school he was attending was another kid, named Trent, that was weird on a level to match Carter, he had his own quirks though, big afro hair and seemed pretty easily distracted..

Carter most appreciated the shakes from Trent to keep him awake through classes, he might not be any good at them but the troubles these caused.

During another class trying to teach the complex world of basic mathematics Carter dozed off once more, the spinning numbers putting him under.

He bolted upright in his seat, a nightmare keeping its hold on his mind. He screamed out involuntarily, only just realizing that the hazy memories of black mists and tentacles were still around him in the classroom.

If it hadn't been for Trent at the next desk over he would have been crushed by the tentacles that seemed to be forming in the mist around him. As they escaped the class room the the room was filled with a dark smoke with shapes moving within it.

Once they got to Carters home his mother had been contacted by school - his erratic behaviour, his outburst and his truancy being reported back with none of the otherworldly troubles that hd affected him.

It was then that Trent dropped the follow up bombshell - that he was a demigod, a child of one of the gods of the world and that these attacks would continue. It took a lot of soul searching and discussions, where Trent revealed the camps existence and showed his Satyr horns and hooves as proof, Carter and his mother finally agreed that he should go to camp to try to overcome these troubles.

During his early days at camp he ended up unhappy with his lot and was still adapting to the struggles of camp life, especially for anyone so prone to sleeping and the lethargy of their cabins predicament. It was never really discovered what happened that day, whether it was a dare, an accident or a cry for help. What was known was that he had been found lying next to the waters that dripped from a  poplar tree branch within their cabin, a conduit directly linked to the river Lethe.

Since his self-inflicted amnesia, Carter has been able to keep mostly to his own cabin. He has learned to use the few hours of the day he forces himself to be awake to eat, exercise and do those tasks he needs muscle memory for (like swords work and similar)

During his other hours he has learned to frequent the New York Public Library or any of the number of private galleries and libraries across the city. He gets pre-opening access to every exhibition, he has the best seats (floating above them normally) to every show in town.

    Personality

Few really know the other side to Carter, from a young age he had preferred his dream side, learning to focus and adapt his image and to frequent the street and libraries of the golden city of Celephaïs and to live where he was not limited by the earth realms limitations.. his attempts to read blurring and being locked to the ground for motion.

During the days he has learned to do enough to keep his body from falling apart, exercise and sustenance were major parts in the hours he pushes himself to do but for most of his time he enjoys seeing the camp from the astral plane. He does not consider himself to be snooping as much as not bound by the mortal frame.

He has been able to provide knowledge and insight into many of the most esoteric topics with thanks to his studies in the dreamland libraries and taverns where he is considered an old soul, likely from the powers that Hypnos has granted upon him

.He tends to be a privileged and happy go lucky camper, mostly keeping his own company though has seen a few other Hypnos campers at some of the hottest venues in town. Though always seems to be impatient to get done when going through the motions of the waking world.

He is known in their cabin most for humming or singing along to operatic or musical numbers when  he is visiting them in person.

    Penelope Belleci

    biography

Mirabella (Miri to her friends) had always been a diligent and hardworking student through school and university as she grew up in Italy. Through study and dedication she pushed towards her goal of rocket science.

She ended up moving to Frascati, Italy for her dream job, working on the satellite design at ESA Centre for Earth Observation.

Hephaestus could rarely avoid looking in on the latest technologies being developed in the mundane world and the exploration of space was definitely no exception.

Heph took the form of an eccentric West Coast American engineer/mechanic coming along with a bunch of other American Colleagues visiting Frascati to share knowledge between space agencies.

He spent his time with very in depth questions and even made a few suggestions that, although very American, actually provided insight into mew areas of development for the launch process. Their discussions moved to dinner and even the suggestion of a job over at Cape Canaveral. One thing lead to another and their discussions lead them to a night of passion in his hotel room.

It was a whirlwind time as she accepted the job and planned to uproot her life but when she arrived in the states, the visas were sorted, the job was real but the engineer she had grown to know was no where to be seen or known of.

The strangeness cast by the mists was made worse when she found herself pregnant and alone in a new country, the only thing keeping her sane was though the chance to work on the next big NASA project and that deep connection to the child.

Named Penelope Luna Belleci, she grew up in the states as a slightly awkward but technically gifted child. She was the kind of child who would dismantle electronics if left unsupervised.

She definitely inherited her mothers technical aptitudes but this did not extend to the rest of her academic abilities, she had trouble concentrating, trouble following along with text and it frustrated her as she could see how things worked so well in her head but all the words just got in her way.

As she got older she learnt the hard way that making friends wasn't easy and mom was always busy with her work - still they found time to hang out and talk about how they were doing. She would tell mom about her current building projects and mom would tell her of her other siblings - the space satellites, one out orbiting the sun and another being built and prepared with scientific research.

It wasn't until around 3rd grade she actually made a friend she somehow kept. It wasn't so much as she befriended Barnaby as much as he kept up a friendship with her. He was funny and pretty popular and knew all sorts of weird things and could do all kinda gross tricks.

Her Aunt ended up moving over to look after her while her Mom went back to Europe to talk about the part of the US in the ESA programs.. It wasn't until she heard from her Aunt that mom had had a heart attack while on stage that she worried. After a few weeks treatment mom was able to come back to the states but the trauma had taken its toll and Aunt Heather ended up staying on to help out for a while.

It was into 4th grade when a dark cloud cast a shadow over the school, soon the screeching of birds could be heard as they descended towards Penelope as she moved between classes. It was only Barnaby who was able to drag her into the music rooms to escape the worst of their talons.

From within here they crashed through the instruments, throwing noise and disruption into air and causing the birds to drop onto the ground. and Barnaby dragged her from the school (leaving a pretty wrecked music room in their wake)

After a startling discovery that her friend had horns and goat hooves and that there would be more monsters coming their way, the pair quickly made their way to speak to Penelope's mom and aunt. It was then that Barnaby dropped the second revelation that she was the daughter of a god and that she needed to go to camp to learn how to be safe.

It took the two of them a good amount of time to travel over from the West coast over to New York, though a pair of flight tickets were sorted for the majority of the trip. There were scuffles with monsters and troubles with the long trek from the city out to the camp but they finally made it there.

    Physical Description

Penelope is young with light brown, nearing blonde hair that tends to be kept out of the way in a braid or ponytail. She tends to go for practical choices of clothing, sturdy dungarees or simple jeans and a tee, often with a plaid shirt. her resting look tends to be pretty studious but likely half caught up in her own thoughts.

Her prized possession is her mothers flight jacket, although she was never a pilot, it had been her way of collecting and storing patches form each of the organizations she worked for and with.

    Personality

Penelope is very analytical in her ways, she assesses the weight of ideas and the best way to implement them with the available material.

She prefers to talk about machinery which, if constructed properly, would not break down or betray them. Her favorite pass time is to work on transparent systems like car engines, the basic principles could all be observed, understood and then repeated to keep it all going.

Penelope has had a year to settle into the camp. The trauma of her need to comer to camp hadn't left her but at least it had faded out a bit. She has pushed herself to learn anything and is rarely seen without a bookbag or backpack for whatever her latest studies are. When she heard the tales of Hephaestus and Aphrodite, then again in the old cabin leader, Beckendorf, being betrayed by Selina she had sworn off love 'If dad wasn't so distracted then he would have fixed most of Olympus' problems'.

  11. Azrael laughed "The burns were what I was left with, back in those days it was turned up to full on mode. I don't want to think how many bones the ambrosia helped fixed from the walls crushing together." he smiled "The camp was much closer to a war footing back then though." He had seen what the camp had changed to, there seemed to be a bit more cabin integration and a little less of the raw violence he remembered, how much of that had been Lilythe and the other Cabin leads doing..

seeing the climbing wall in the distance as they set off across the grounds he said "Happy with a bit of competition, gotta work off the meal and its always easier to push yourself when you have someone to match against. What do you prefer, north or southern face?" he had known the climbing wall well over his years here, it had been a way to push himself further when no one else was available to spar, back before he had been claimed and felt such a strong need to prove himself. Now he knew this had been the way of the children of Nemesis, a need to push to master a skill, a task, another goal; back then it had just felt like another thing he needed to achieve to show his worth at the camp.

"I think so long as the older campers are spread out it will be as much of a learning lesson as anything, there are a lot of younger campers who need to be looked out for over any kind of full out warfare training." He thought back to the past, without Chiron and Dionysus there wouldn't be the same kind of oversight than there had been in the older days "I don't actually know who is going to look after everyone, I have a feeling us.." he held out his hands making bunny ears in the air "old folks might be sitting this one out to be able to help pull any injured out."

  12. Azrael took his time driving the van into the big city. He enjoyed the quiet company, hearing her next to him, the cute way she sang under her breath along to the country radio. He hadn't realized how much of a balancing presence she had always been in his life, the rare times when he was not pushing ahead focused on the next class, fight or task had pretty much always been when he had been around her. The van rolled onward and he felt a smile come across his face as the lights of the city got closer, seeing the line of her cheek in the reflected illuminations.

He glanced down at the clock on the van, they had plenty of time to make it to the restaurant and each time they were turning or stuck at lights he couldn't help taking in her jaw dropped beauty in that outfit. He took the time to pull the van into the underground parking under the hotel, hoping they would have no use for it this evening and taking the time to go around the car to open the door for her. He knew she was more than capable but for one evening he wanted to be there for her. He offered out his hand to her in the the high seat of the van "the city awaits you.."

He had never realized how much he had kept himself busy, throwing himself into classes and learning but this was the part of himself he had left behind at camp all those years ago, the part of him that only she could complete. He felt a spring in his step and the sheer happiness of having her on his arm as they walked through the city, the glow of Broadway and times square a dim illumination to the radiant beauty at his side.

He then lead them into an Italian restaurant covered in amusing caricatures as decoration, a few Azrael had sworn could have been some of the minor gods. The pair walked in, the reservation quickly confirmed and the staff seating them at a nice window table. "Shall we share a bottle of wine? We have a few hours before the show starts and we are just around the corner.." he had no intention of over indulging on alcohol but he wanted this night to be perfect, he was ready for her to pick the wine should she want some, he had taken the liberties of making the big arrangements but he wanted her to know he wasn't pushing for anything from her. Still, just gazing across the table at her, he felt a wave of desire within himself.

  13. Azrael seemed to have gotten more comfortable on their walk around the grounds, it was a familiar path to tread and one that he fell into easier than he thought he would. The camp seemed to be full of activity with campers running around and enjoying themselves. He settled down to dig into the meat at the makeshift table savoring the spices and the effort that the dryads took in preparing and serving at the camp, he took the time to eat each chunk overriding the sense to wolf the meat down.

Once he had finished the delicious sustenance he looked up hearing that Joaquín had some spare time. "First time up the wall I got caught dead on by the crusher, not some I would recommend. You do get a night off chores in the infirmary and a nice burn scar to remember it though." he smiled in memory "Some things definitely encourage you not to hang around and to leap a lot faster the next time around". "If you have the time we can see if the wall is quiet, be good to get a bit of a workout, just need to drop this" as he placed a hand on the picnic hamper "off at the big house and we can go."

"With your skills and style you sound like you would excel at a forward distractionary group, able to attract attention and still get out of trouble enough to dodge back into the woods." he said appraising the style and discussions they had gone through. "I tend to take the role of defense myself, I have good blade skills and solid enough to hold my ground. Plus Nemesis has a few tricks, the one helping most is sensing those on a path of malice or vengeance, with a little luck it helps us get a moment of warning before most attackers appear."

With that he took the time to quietly set the picnic hamper just inside the door to the big house and was ready to be on his way to the wall.

  14. Hearing that Lilythe had been speaking about him within the camp was a positive, he had been laying low within the camp give her time to think but if she had spoken fondly of him with his siblings here then there might still be a chance. Still he had to set that aside for now.

"Hey Derrick, You're welcome to a seat." He said making sure there was plenty of space on the couch for Derrick to take a seat. "This cabin is even more yours than it is mine." he said reassuringly.

"I was learning with our siblings over in New Rome, about the law and the senate, trying to get used to the balance part of moms gifts rather than the vengeance parts that come so easily." he tried not to dwell on the times his emotions had overtaken him, "But I am back here for now, not sure the camp has a lot of use for me at the moment but I am going to talk to Chiron and see if they need anyone to take some lessons or anything". He seemed to be pretty at ease but not really committed to his answer.

As he looked at the youngster he was glad that the gods had realized they should be claiming earlier than the enforced thirteen year old deadline, it had been tough when he had spent his couple of years with the Hermes cabin, it's better to get settled without being uprooted after a few years in the camp.

He had heard some of the other talking about a capture the flag match coming up but it wouldn't likely call on one quite this young to complete.. although he did remember a fresh faced kid about Derrick's age who got pulled in many years ago just when he got to camp, even before any claiming took place. Though Lilythe's camp ethos seems to be less harsh than the one he remembered. This line of thought seemed to sour his mood slightly, realizing this line of thought was pretty negative he chose to move his thoughts to a more positive topic.

"I have been away studying for a while though so definitely not up to speed. Whats the latest going-ons in the cabin of Nemesis and what has been keeping you busy?" he asked with genuine curiosity, he smiled, happy to be among his siblings in a familiar cabin after such a long hiatus away.

  15. Azrael felt a warm contentedness in his chest, the two of them together just felt right. The years seemed to vanish as they walked through the camp, arm in arm.

As he walked around the van to the drivers side, he dwelt on the question.. going all out. He smiled as he got in, admiring how her makeup gave a slight rosy completion he hadn't noticed before. "I had some time to think recently, you have always meant the world to me. Not just times you saved me on the battlefield. you were the one who grounded me in the camp when a lot of the other unclaimed didn't. If i get a second chance I want to truly show you what you mean to me." He took the time to take a breath and get the van ready to head into the town.

He picked up one of the room keys from on top of the dashboard, "Just encase we find trouble in town, can never be too careful." he said with an affectionate look  "I got us room 407 in the Muse. I didn't think travelling home at night from town was the wisest"

As he took the time to turn the radio in the van on, a country radio channel already tuned in. He turned it down a little to provide some background noise for their travels.

Islands in the stream.. That is what we are...

The van started through the late afternoon light, the sun streaming in as they headed west towards the big city. When the van was underway he once more took her hand in his, a warm smile on his face and silent thanks in his mind to whichever gods had favored them.

  16.

"I am glad there is enough room in Hermes cabin now there are less unclaimed coming through but I have to say it was the hospitality of your siblings that helped make the camp home. Sure Luke had a bad effect on the folks who were here before me but being brought into camp without the older campers and without.." he paused not wanting to call her out directly but Lilythe had been a major part of keeping him grounded in the camp  "good people to welcome them it would have been a lot worse." He remembered the unclaimed and those of Hermes cabin being some of the most swayed to the opposition during the second Titan war.

The elbow nudge was enough to shake him out of the past and he took the time to assess the dueling grounds, the careful parrying of blows, the nearby sneaking campers. Fortunately he could feel none of the vengeance or malice that trouble would have caused between them. Another training exercise, he thought over to their likely trainer in scouting and stealthiness. Best to give her the space she needs. Azrael made sure to keep heading for the dining pavilion as the ambush was sprung and the water balloons began to fly.

As the talk moved to criminal activity Azrael got a little uncomfortable "You have got to remember we cross two worlds, the gods and heroes of old have always had a bit more.. wiggle room to do what was right over what was lawful, with enough monsters out there with treasures needed to save the world." He had tried to study law and this predicament had came up.. there were those who needed to answer for their crimes but much of the half blood world was morally grey in the eyes of the human law, but that tale could wait for another day. He tried to look for the brighter side of Herme's gifts "Plus if the Argonauts hadn't stolen the golden fleece there wouldn't be a camp left anymore. Just try to stay on the right side of the human world."

The smell of freshly sizzling barbecue was intoxicating now they were so close. After checking with one of the dryads at the grill he grabbed a couple of portions for the two of them. He took the time to stop by the big brazier and carve the freshest end and tip it into the flames. He also took a moment to fish in the big picnic hamper, grabbing out a slightly stale pastry and dropping it in as well. Whoever was watching over that feast You have my gratitude.

Azrael took the time to look over the tables but remembering how cabin specific they were he used the picnic hamper as a makeshift table on the fencing that surrounded the camp. He tore into the deliciously flavored meat and drank down the ice cool mountain water from the goblet.  "Well when you have some time, its been a while since I got a shot at the wall. Hopefully I do better than the busted bones and burns I got when I started at camp." He looked over the camper in front of him.. "Thrillseeker, right.. guessing you have heard the rumors of capture the flag coming up. Whats your place on the field then, sneaking and scouting behind the front lines or something more direct?"

  17. Azrael was struck by the divine beauty as Lilythe opened the door, he was fortunate enough to have a little time as she found places for the roses and chocolates. He smiled as she organized her cabinmates, making short work of getting the gifts a home.

As Lilythe returned to the doorway he took in the full sight of her; the flowing robes, the slender elven look of the children of Hermes, the perfect makeup showing the contours of her cheeks and her eyes that captivate their beholder. "My lady" he said offering his arm. He knew better than to compare her with the gods or who she might rival but in that moment she was the pinnacle of beauty in his eye. "You look exquisite this evening."

His heart lightened and swelled with contentment in that moment as the pair strolled arm in arm across the camp grounds, headed for the big tree and onward to the waiting Camp Van with the familiar 'Delphi Strawberry Service' logo plastered across the side.  "Your Chariot awaits!" he said triumphantly as he opened the door for her. He had thought about hiring something a little more sophisticated but the camp vans were familiar and worst case it was easier to ask the Hephestus cabin to bang some dents out of if they ran into any problems. He had done all he could in his days away from the camp to scout each location and was left  having to hope nothing would disturb the night he had planned out.

He took the time to close her door behind her before circling around to the drivers side. He had another pang of realizing the years that had passed, she likely would be used to being the driver but, at least for tonight, he had the plans in place and would take the lead. He smiled over to her, grasped her hand in his squeezing it affectionately and then started up the engine, turning the van around to point westward along Long Island and towards the big city.

  18. Azrael was glad to speak about something normal about the camp, he had a good amount of bad memories from the wars but he could think back to many of the good times in between. "Try spending a few years unclaimed.. there are a lot of kids that have passed through the camp that owe a lot to Hermes Cabin. There was always a little more floor space for the next arrival." A smile crossed his face, remembering the chaos and comradery of his time there, remembering carving a pair of initials in a hidden corner of the cabin. "I've gotta say, glad that not all the gods have been waiting till thirteen." he faded off.. he had known how much not being claimed had lead to a lot of half bloods going over to the titan side of the war but this was not the good memories to find.

Azrael took the time to look around the camp, the activities, the positivity, the place seemed a little less rough than back in the old days or maybe the kids were sneakier nowadays. He had a smile as he thought about the past while they headed towards the mess hall, drawn as much by the smells of fresh foods as the sight of the open pavilion at the top of the hill.

"Thievery tends to be a good workout in and of itself. Lots of stealth; stretching and probably a good cardio workout." he looked around for a Dryad as they got up towards the top of the hill, the smell so of fresh fruits and meats wafting across but it wasn't exactly bell time. "It's been a good few years since I had a go at the climbing wall if you want a challenge workout."

He took the time to give a friendly wave towards a nearby Dryad he had spotted in hope of some sustenance..

  19. Azrael had been gone from camp for two days in preparation, his mind focused on planning and reconnaissance, to ready for their time in the big city. It hadn't taken long to organize one of the camp vans to head into the big apple, like most things that the children of Nemesis put their mind to, he had been able to excel at driving. And though it was busier than

He had taken the van carefully into a nearby lot and took to his plan; tickets, scout the locations, sweep for monsters. He was determined that everything would go smoothly, even the rainstorm overhead hadn't been enough to bring him down. He thought of his dad as he put used the card that rarely left his wallet, memories of moving around the state with him for cases but that he had always made sure he was provided for even when he was away for university. Dad would approve of this, not just monetarily but the gestures behind it.

He took stock of the plan as he drove back towards camp, he had a restaurant booked, a century old, Italian ran restaurant a block away, two good tickets for the show and scouted out a couple of options for after, a coffee and ice cream place just off time square or a table up on a rooftop bar. He had managed to survive a quick visit and drink in each of the locations without monsters in the wait staff or worse, maybe being in the shadow of the Empire State Building was better than he had feared.

He looked over the assorted bits he had in the passenger seat; a nicely ribbon wrapped box of chocolates, freshly picked up roses, two hotel room cards for a twin queen room at the Muse. He felt as prepared as he could, though he felt a level of nervousness that few other things in his life had mustered. He left the van at the bottom of the hill and took the long familiar yet nervous walk into camp in the mid afternoon light.

Dressed in his finery he walked up to the door of cabin 11, familiar memories of his early times at camp, unclaimed, guest of the rightful dwellers of the cabin. He knocked and was customary he yelled into the through the closed main entrance "LIlythe, ready for another adventure?" His heart beat faster as he gripped the gifts waiting...
