Summer Lovin

James Selway

Recommended Posts

James Selway couldn't help but smile as he strummed his guitar, sitting beside Rissa, who was skillfully playing several other things. It had been a year since they had rekindled their relationship, and their bond had grown stronger with each passing day. The warmth of the summer sun enveloped them as they warmed up together, providing a beautiful backdrop to the small play taking place in the middle of the cabin area.

The sounds of their music would be filling the air, James would steal glances at Rissa, admiration shining in his eyes. He couldn't believe how lucky he was to have her by his side. Their shared love for music had brought them even closer, and he cherished these moments where they could express their passion together. The play they were accompanying was "Grease," and the lively tunes brought a playful energy to the surroundings. This was just something fun and small since all the campers had come back to camp. Leaning over he began to whisper "This is going to be so much fun" he laughed as he knew they would start playing soon. They were in the back since everything was so small and everyone would be able to hear just fine. This meant they could talk, laugh and maybe even kiss a time or two!

Rissa was going to go back to her homeland with her other mother, but something about leaving the camp put a damper on her and she didn't like that feeling. Maybe it was because she would have to leave James and she didn't want to do that at the moment. It had been a year since they had gotten together and got their relationship to the point it was now. Everything was going pretty well and she didn't want to miss out on anything. So, she of course told her mother to head off without her and that maybe they would be able to see each other later on in the summer.

The music that they were getting ready to play would soon be filling the air around them and she was excited about it. She didn't say or do anything as she felt the eyes of her boyfriend on her every so often. She did, however, smile a little, trying to not blush completely. She still wasn't sure how they became but she wasn't going to question the gods about it. Maybe her father was looking out for her? Doubtful but she could wish for that right? She caught James looking at her the last time and she couldn't help but blow him a kiss. Everything about the man gave her butterflies in a good way. She played her drums the way they needed to be, and she couldn't help but laugh a little as she watched the campers around them. She blinked a little as she watched him lean into her, she couldn't help but lean on him as well, listening to what he was saying to her. "Of course. I'm super excited about it." she told him, throwing him a wink as well. She had a special love for the Grease musical. She couldn't help but be excited that she was going to be singing a part of it.

James felt a surge of joy and anticipation as Rissa blew him a kiss in response to his whispered words. Her smile and the twinkle in her eyes filled his heart with warmth. He couldn't believe how lucky he was to have found someone so special. Once he lost her to Kyle but now she was his and he planned to keep it that way. She deserves someone to treat her well forever! As the play was about to start, James shifted his focus back to his guitar, his fingers finding their familiar positions on the strings.

The first notes reverberated through the air, setting the rhythm for the lively tunes of "Grease." James's guitar blended seamlessly with Rissa's drums, creating a vibrant and energetic backdrop for the performers on stage. He couldn't help but tap his foot to the beat, his fingers strumming with passion and precision. The music flowed effortlessly from his instrument, and he couldn't help but steal glances at Rissa, their shared love for music fueling his enthusiasm. It was moments like these that made him feel alive, as if time stood still and all that mattered was the music and the connection they shared. With every chord he played and every smile Rissa sent his way, James's heart swelled with love and gratitude. This summer had brought them even closer, and he couldn't wait to see what the future held for them.  Smirking he winked at her as he played and mouthing the words to the song to her as the kids on the stage began to do their thing. He also began to dance while he played.

Rissa couldn't wait for the song to start. It was one of her favorite musicals, and the ending. UGH! All around, one of her favorites. That and dirty dancing. They both held a special spot in her heart. Just like James had. She couldn't help but smile at the man that was next to her. Everything about him made her want to just eat him up. And on many occasions, she had. It was nice to be his now. She glanced down at the ring that was placed on her finger. Something that she would treasure for the rest of her life. It was their promise to be together for ever. Something about it sent shiver down her spine. She had had dreams about it. Which was something great. Her in white and him in a tux. He looked amazing in it. Though that would be a while from now.

The notes finally hit, and she found the music surrounding her whole. She loved every moment of it. James had of course got on his guitar and her on her drums. Something about this whole set up reminded her of the first night that she had come back. His smirk at her wasn't ignored. It was however the cutest thing that she had seen. Then add the fact that he was mouthing the words to her. UGH! Talk about falling in love all over again. This night couldn't get any better. She laughed a little. When it was the girl part, she couldn't help but mouth out her part as well. Though her voice seemed to get the better of her and she ended up singing it. "Summer Lovin happened so fast." She blinked and laughed a little, shaking her head. She didn't care at this point. She was quite enough for the others not to hear her.

James's fingers danced across the strings of his guitar with a lively energy, the music of "Grease" coming to life in his skilled hands. He couldn't help but feel the electricity in the air, the anticipation of the crowd adding to his own excitement. As the performance continued, he caught Rissa's eye, his heart skipping a beat as he saw her smiling down at the ring on her finger. It was a symbol of their love, a promise they had made to each other, and it filled him with a deep sense of commitment and joy.

The rhythm of the music matched the beat of his heart, and he found himself moving to the rhythm, his feet tapping and body swaying as he played. It was impossible to resist the infectious energy of the musical. He grinned as he caught Rissa's playful singing, her voice blending perfectly with the rest of the music. Her laughter rang out, and he couldn't help but chuckle along. It was in these moments that he felt an overwhelming sense of contentment and love. As the song continued, he winked at Rissa once more.  He couldn't wait to take her hand when the music finally faded, to share in the applause and the sense of accomplishment that came with playing together. This summer night was truly magical, and he knew that their love story was just beginning to unfold.

"I met a girl crazy for me

Summer days drifting away To-ah! Oh, the summer nights Well-a, well-a, well-a, huh"

The music had been bringing her to life. She always loved the fact that there was something with music in her life. She couldn't wait till she was able to get the things done in her life, and in that life, she wanted James there all the time. She watched him the whole time. She smiled brightly at him, laughing the whole time. She didn't think that he was going to sing back to her but she couldn't help but grin brighter at him as he sung it back to her. She bit her lip and nodded her head.

"Meet a boy cute as can be.

Summer days difting away to
To-Ah! Oh the summer nights"

she titled her head to the side waiting for him to start off the chorus. She glanced over to the group that was singing at the moment on stage, the smile never leaving her lips, but she couldn't help but turn her head back to James.

James's fingers continued to coax vibrant melodies from his guitar, the music flowing effortlessly as he watched the campers on stage and the crowd swaying to the beat. His heart swelled with pride as he saw Rissa singing along with the lyrics, her voice adding a new layer of magic to the performance. The connection they shared felt palpable in every note, every glance exchanged between them. As the song progressed, James felt the energy in the air intensify. His heart raced in rhythm with the music, and he sang the lines to Rissa with a playful grin, their voices blending harmoniously. The chemistry between them was undeniable, a mix of passion and affection that made this moment unforgettable. He couldn't resist the urge to move to the music, his foot tapping and body swaying to the beat. The song echoed his feelings perfectly, the lyrics a mirror of the love he felt for Rissa. With each note, he felt like he was pouring his heart out, baring his soul through the strings of his guitar and the lyrics of the song.

"Tell me more, tell me more Did you get very far? Tell me more, tell me more Like does he have a car?

Uh huh (doo doo) Uh huh (doo doo) Uh huh (doo doo doo doo doo)

She swam by me, she got a cramp I saved her life, she nearly drowned Summer sun, something's begun But ah! Oh, the summer nights Well-a, well-a, well-a, huh"

The chorus came, and he sang with gusto, feeling the crowd's energy building with his own. He locked eyes with Rissa, their shared laughter and joy shining in their gazes. The chorus echoed around them, a collective celebration of summer nights and the love they shared. He wished he could reach out in that moment and kiss her. Pick her up and take her off for them just to be together. He was so deeply in love with her!

Rissa was defintly on a cloud at the moment. She was having a blast and she wasn't even in the musical herself. She had been enjoying everything about the night. Being there with James set it to a whole new level as well. He was everything that she had wanted in a boyfriend. The charming, loving man that would do just about anything for her. The one that would stop the world for her. She glanced from the drums to James once again. She adored the man. She would move the stars for him if she could. Maybe more, no she knew she would do more to show him that she loved him more than anything in the world. The Tyche man was her life now. She glanced down at her ring and smirked before looking back at the group that was singing. She gave her man a slide glance and smriked his way.

"He ran by me, got my sut damp

He showed off, splashing around

Summer sun, something's begun
But ah... Oh the  summer nights

Well-a Well-a well-a huh
Tell me more tell me more
Was it love at first sight?"

Their playful back-and-forth singing added a layer of fun to the performance, and he couldn't help but chuckle at Rissa's sly smile. It was moments like these that made him feel alive, like nothing else in the world mattered but the music and the woman he loved. There was always some kind of drama going on with Andralyn or maybe even with new campers coming in. But for this moment, he was just enjoying it with his favorite person in the whole world. Doing the one thing they loved the most!!! The crowd's enthusiasm mirrored his own, and he saw the joy on the faces of the campers on stage as they danced and sang. The lyrics resonated with him, describing their own summer romance perfectly. Every word felt like a testament to the love they had found together.

"Tell me more, tell me more
Did she put a fight?

Dow, doobie do, doobie do
Doobie, doobie, doobie
Dow, doobie do, doobie do
Doobie, doobie, doobie, dow"

As the song reached its climax, James played the final chords with a flourish, the music fading into the night. The applause from the audience was thunderous, and he couldn't help but smile widely at Rissa. This night had been pure magic, a celebration of their love and the beauty of summer nights. "Well Done" he mouthed to her as he winked at her.
