What is this....Cool

There was a lot going through Maddox's mind at the moment. He knew that there were plenty of things happening and he didn't know what was going to happen to him nor his brother. Though being twins he knew that they were going to be together since they would have to have the same parents. That was a given. He huffed a little as he turned over on the pallet made on the floor. There was many things happening at the moment, which bugged him. He was just about to close his eyes to go back to sleep again when he heard some hard rock music playing down the way. He blinked his eye opened once again and sat up. Who was playing this kind of music this early? He blinked and looked over to his brother who was still pretty much sleeping, and Maddox couldn't help but roll his eyes a little. How could his brother sleep through this? He shook his head and noticed that there was some light coming from the windows. Which meant that it was time to get up anyways. Living on the streets, he was normally up before now, and he knew it. He removed his covers and got up, heading to the door. Once he opened it, he walked out without trying to wait up anyone else. He blinked with the light and turned his head trying to find the sound of the music. He soon found where it was coming from, and he began walking over there. Curious to what was happening. As he got closer to the group of people, he noticed that above the cabin was labeled five. He was now even more curious, as he watched a couple of kids fighting in the front part of it. The music loud enough now that he could understand the words that were coming out. He smirked a little knowing the song and just stood there looking at the cabin. It was a mess, but it looked better than the Hermes cabin. He blinked as he watched a little more. "Cool." It was the only word that came out of his mouth.

Liam always loved time with his sibling!!!! Especially when it came to practicing fighting, as they never knew when an attack would shake their world just like the last few wars had done. It wasn't an easy life being an ares kid as a lot of the other campers looked up to you to take charge and lead the line. You had no chance to coward in the corner as someone was just around the corner ready to take you out. Liam pushed his siblings as much as they pushed him. To get better you have to bleed a little he thought to himself all the time. The anger was just the fuel he needed to become a legend on the battlefield.

The music  was playing loudly from the front on his cabin as him and his siblings were fighting with swords. It did not matter the time of the day or who was walking by. But the group of them must look insane to anyone who saw them going full force at each other as they screams, pushed and clashed swords. Liam ran at one of his siblings as their swords collided as they began to push at each other as he pushed them to the ground. Sword at their throat he smiled as they grabbed hands to pull them up. That was when he thought he saw someone watching. Looking over he noticed a younger camper who seemed to be impressed. Smirking he called him over "Hey you, you want to join?"

Maddox couldn't help but watch a little more as the boy moved around. It was then that the older boy noticed him, and he couldn't help but smile a little. Everything that the boy was doing seemed to get him a little more. "Sure." he said as he walked over to the old boy with a huge grin on his face. He couldn't help wanting to have a sword in his hands as well. As he got over to the older camper he looked around at the cabin and then at the boy once again. "What cabin is this?" he questioned curious as his head tilted to the side. He waited for him to say something else. He wondered what cabin that he was going to be in and that didn't involve the lady Lilythe. It wasn't that he didn't like her perse. It was more like it was..well she kind of pissed him off. Not that she meant to but that was about it. Maddox held grudges a little too tightly. Maybe his brother and sisters, whenever he got them would be able to help him out.

Liam grinned warmly at Maddox and gestured towards the cabin behind him. "This is Cabin Five, home of the Ares campers," he replied. "I'm Liam, by the way. Son of Ares." Looking down at the boy in front of him as he could see that Maddox was taking in the information. Liam noticed that Maddox seemed a bit tense, so he decided to try and put him at ease. Knowing that he would be staying in Cabin 11 with the other Hermes campers. That meant he would be dealing with all the normal cabin members plus those who had not been claimed just yet.  "Don't worry, Maddox, Lilythe is great once you get to know her. She just has a way of pushing people to be their best, even if it's not always what we want to hear, plus that cabin is crazy enough to make anyone go insane at times" he said with a small grin.

"As for what we do around here, we train a lot. Fighting, weapon skills, and physical fitness are all important if you want to be a good warrior." Liam was proud of his cabin even if most thought they were hot head fools and such. Liam watched Maddox and wanted to  offer some reassurance. "It can be tough at first, but you'll find your place here eventually. And if you need any help, just let me know. We Demi-Gods gotta stick together, you know?" he said, clapping Maddox on the back.

Maddox blinked at the older boy as he was told that the cabin was called cabin 5. Home of the Ares campers. He blinked a little then the older boy who called himself Liam now said that he was one of the sons of Ares. He blinked again and smiled. That was cool. "So, Ares is like the god of war?" he had listened to some of what Lilythe had said about the gods and goddess. He was still little confused though. He didn't understand why he was having to stay in cabin 11. Why couldn't he stay at a cabin like this. This was cool. He turned to Liam once again he began to listen to what he was saying. Telling him that everything was going to be okay. That Lilythe was great once he got to know her. He didn't know if he should believe him or not, but he had to agree that she seemed very helpful. He blinked a little and puffed out a little bit. Not really liking that the fact that he had to deal with it. For now, that was.

Liam began to talk about what they did in the cabin, and he couldn't help but want to do that as well. "Really." he began as he looked around to see if he could see into the cabin or not but nothing. He only seen what the outside looked like. It was looking like a war bunker more than anything which was pretty cool. He turned his head to listen to what Laim was saying. something about being able to find his place eventually and Maddox only could smile at the moment. "Well, I sure hope so." He spoke. "This is the type of place that I wouldn't mind being in though. Better than cabin 11." He told Laim with a smirk on his face. What if his father was Ares. Wouldn't that be really cool? He would have Liam for a big brother, from what he understood about how everything worked. "Will do." he said giving the older boy a salute and smiling brightly. He reminded Maddox of one of the older boys that he had been friends with during their time on the streets. He moved forward a little as Liam clapped Maddox on the back. The younger child only smiles at the older boy. "Can you teach me how to swing one of those." he said pointing to the swords that he had.

Liam chuckled at Maddox's enthusiasm and nodded. "Ares is indeed the god of war," he confirmed. "As for teaching you how to swing a sword, I'd be more than happy to show you the basics." He reached over to a nearby weapon rack and carefully selected a training sword suitable for Maddox's size. "Alright, first things first," Liam began, as he handed the training sword to Maddox. "You want to get a firm grip on the handle, but don't squeeze too tight. You need to be able to move your wrist fluidly." Maddox nodded and tried to mimic Liam's grip on his own sword.

Liam then showed Maddox a few basic stances, emphasizing the importance of balance and footwork. "Remember, a strong foundation is key in a fight. If you lose your footing, you're in trouble," Liam explained. He demonstrated a few simple strikes and defensive moves, ensuring that Maddox had a solid understanding of the fundamentals. As they continued to practice, Liam couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in Maddox's progress. The younger boy was a quick learner, and he had a natural aptitude for swordplay. As the sun began to dip below the horizon, Liam decided it was time to wrap up their training session. "You've got a lot of potential, Maddox," he said, clapping the younger boy on the back once again. "Keep practicing, and you'll be a force to be reckoned with in no time."

Liam laughed at him, and Maddox couldn't help but smile big at him. He really liked this boy. He reminded him of the older boys that were helping him and Mason that were living on the streets. He was curious as to what the boy's story was. He knew some of what the cabin leader was like. Mainly because Lilythe has told him a little bit while they were walking around the camp. Well at least that was what he thought she was talking about. The next thing he said was about the swords and Maddox was ready for it to happen. A smile was plastered on his face as he watched Liam get a sword for him and handed it over. He played with the sword for a moment before looking up at the older boy waiting for him to say something to him about it. He was going to show him the basic. Which was nice. He was telling him how to grip the sword, firm grip but not too tight. He glanced down at his hands and loosened up his grip for a moment before holding it just right in his hands. "Okay." he said looking back up to him with awe in his eyes. He was ready for more.

The next thing that he was showing how to stand and telling him that a good foundation is a key in fighting. And Maddox was ready for the fighting already. He bounced on his feet as he listened more. He was still very young, but he was very impressionable thanks to him actually liking Liam. He nodded his head. He didn't want to be in trouble with fighting, so he was listening contently. He had showed off a little bit of what he was learning, and he could see that Liam had pride in his eyes when watching him work. He moved with grace, and he swung his sword happily. He moved to stand up straight and glanced over to Liam as the sun began to go down. He took a deep breath and he smiled at the boy. He loved this! Liam patted his back and Maddox felt a sense of pride going through him. "Really!" he grinned more happier than he was when he first started. "I like using a sword!"  he told him as he was once again bouncing on the balls of his feet.

As Liam watched Maddox wield the training sword with a natural grace and enthusiasm, he couldn't help but wonder about the younger boy's lineage. His skills and potential seemed far beyond what Liam had expected from a child of Hermes. There was something unique about Maddox, an underlying strength and agility that caught Liam's attention. Internally, Liam speculated on the possibilities. Could Maddox be the child of a different god, perhaps one known for their combat prowess? Or was he simply a rare exception, possessing exceptional talent despite his divine parentage? Liam made a mental note to discreetly inquire about Maddox's background, curious to uncover the truth.

As Maddox moved through the basic sword techniques, Liam found himself impressed by the way the younger boy picked up on the instructions and executed the moves. There was a natural flow to his movements, an instinctual understanding of how to strike and defend. Liam couldn't help but compare Maddox to the other campers he had trained with in the past. There was an undeniable spark of potential in Maddox, something that set him apart. Liam chuckled at Maddox's enthusiasm, pleased to see the younger boy's excitement. "I can tell you have a natural talent for it," he replied, his own smile widening. "Using a sword takes practice and discipline, but with your determination, I have no doubt you'll become even better."

Then pointing at his cabin he nodded towards it "My older brother dustin is the hand to hand combat trainer here at camp....you will learn a lot from him im sure!"

Maddox couldn't help but grin brightly at the older boy. He seemed to be like someone he would like to be around all the time. Maybe he would be his brother and he could be around him all the time. A smile came to his lips as he began to think about it a little. When Liam told him that he had a natural talent for it, Maddox couldn't help but bounce a little. He always liked having something special about him. This was going to be a great! Liam keep talking about how he had no doubt that he would become better than ever. The younger boy liked that idea.

His eyes went to the cabin as the older boy pointed to it. "Dustin?" he questioned curiously. "That name's sounds familiar. Lilythe said something about him when she brought us in." he blinked a little and smirked a little. "I think she got me and my brother pinned at which cabin we're going to be in." he told Liam with a smile. "She wouldn't tell us." he told him. "But I'm sure that I'll like anything that he teaches, if he is anything like you." Maddox said happily.

Liam observed the excitement in Maddox's eyes and couldn't help but feel a sense of camaraderie growing between them. The boy's genuine enthusiasm was contagious, and Liam found himself genuinely looking forward to helping Maddox develop his skills further. As Maddox mentioned Lilythe's role in sorting them into cabins, Liam chuckled, imagining the mischievous grin that must have accompanied her actions. "Lilythe does have a knack for keeping things mysterious, but yes Dustin is this cabin's leader" he commented, his own smile playing at his lips. "But don't worry, the cabins here are all great, and you'll fit right in wherever you end up." Either way Liam wanted to train this camper himself as he could see the potential in him!!!

With a nod toward the practice area, Liam gestured for Maddox to continue his sword drills. "Alright, let's focus on refining your stance and footwork," he suggested. "The foundation of any good sword technique is a solid stance that allows you to move swiftly and maintain your balance." Liam stepped closer to Maddox and demonstrated the proper positioning of feet and hands. "You want your weight evenly distributed, ready to shift in any direction. Keep your guard up, and remember to breathe. Now, let's practice a few strikes together."

Maddox nodded his head when Liam talking about Lilythe. Well maybe she was like that with everyone. He nodded his head a little and smiled at the thought. He had given her a hard go at it when he first showed up here. Maybe he should go tell her he was sorry after all she had helped him out giving the times, they were in. He hummed for a moment and then began to look around. So, this Dustin was a part of the cabin leaders as well just like Lilythe. Well, there was that. He nodded his head once again. "Is he anything like you?" He questioned curiously. Wanting to know more about the boy and what he did. Liam went on to say that all the cabins were great and that he would fit in the one he gets. He honestly couldn't wait to see whose cabin that he was in. He was excited about it all. "Well, I hope to be in your cabin." he said honestly. He didn't want to be in another cabin but Liam because he had been the only other person that he had liked thus far.

Maddox turned his head to where the older boy was nodding to, and his eyes widened a little more. A bigger practice area. That was great. "Sounds like a plan to me." he said happily as he listened to everything that he was saying to him. Maddox watched carefully as the older boy moved around. Moving his feet to the right stance. He nodded his head when Liam told him that they would practice a few strikes together. "Right." he agreed and got into stance the same way that the Liam had just a few moments ago.

Liam chuckled at Maddox's question about Dustin. "Dustin is a great leader, but we have our differences," he replied with a grin. "He's got a more serious demeanor, whereas I tend to be a bit more laid-back. But he's an excellent mentor, just like Lilythe. You'll learn a lot from him if you end up in his cabin." Liam appreciated Maddox's desire to be in his cabin and felt a warm sense of pride in helping him develop his skills. As they began practicing their sword strikes, Liam observed Maddox's movements closely. He offered guidance and encouragement, helping the young camper refine his technique. Time flew by as they worked on their sword skills, but as the sun started to dip below the horizon, Liam finally spoke up. "Maddox, it's been a pleasure training with you, but I should probably get cleaned up. It's getting close to dinner time, and we don't want to miss the meal. Keep practicing your stances and strikes, and we'll continue our training tomorrow. You're making great progress!" With a pat on Maddox's shoulder, Liam gathered his gear, ready to head back to thhis room, knowing that this was just the beginning of an exciting journey for Maddox at the camp.
