The Blue team was given one directive, they were to head to the eastern part of the woods and set their flag. At noon, the team trekked into the forest, and managed to set their flag. Hopefully it would be protected well enough to prevent the red team from finding it.

Sage was not going to let what happen last year, happen this year! As a daughter of Athena.....they were known for their strategy. Sage was with her sword in hand ready for someone to come at her. Not knowing where Annie was, she tried to keep her mind clear. Seeing her flag in front of her. Sage knew it was only a matter of time when someone would come at her to try and take it. Samantha gave her some good advice but she kind of zoned out as she was still thinking about the other night in the stables with Loukas. It made her blush which then had samantha asking her if she was even paying attention!

Shi Jin was a bit down lately as he was still catching up on helping with the summer classes at camp. They were a lot of work to do hence he was feeling just a little tired by it. He hoped he could meet his friends and have a meal or hangout to be away from the usual camp stuff. Though he was particularly excited for the event that was starting , Capture the flag. It was an event that he participated all along and he never back downed from it. He was in the red team this time and he wanted to make sure their team got the flag. So long as all of them cooperated. He told his siblings about it when he wanted to spy on and be ready for the attack later. He walked close to the blue flag station and saw one of the Athenas protecting it. He stood near but hidden beneath the trees , waiting to send a message back to the red team.

Emberlynn was on defense this time around, which suited her just fine. Her last foray into the other side had earned her a few bruises to say the least. Here on her own side though, there was a certain sense of safety behind there own lines. Perhaps it was this security that caused her to miss the shadow of Park Shi Jin as she walked up to the flag. Unaware of her lurking adversary, she called out to her fellow defender.

"Sage!" she exclaimed. "How wonderful to see you!" Sage had recently helped Emberlynn with her training, for which the rainbow haired girl was eternally grateful. The blonde had a good head on her shoulders, and the blue team was lucky to have her. However, she did seem a bit distracted at the moment. Ember waited a moment for a response. When she got none, she tapped her on the shoulder. "Greetings? Ground control to Major Sage?"

Rebecca wanted to play well in this event this year so she played for both the attack and defense but it would be hectic one since she had to cross over to each station each time without getting seen. She was careful and have followed an older demigod to spy on the enemy flag station. She was ready for any kinds of fight too but she wasn’t sure she was good at it, only archery  and a bit of hand combat. Dodging and swerving were definitely good. She wondered if she could see any of the red team around so that they could plan as plot out their capture of the blue flag.

"Sorry friend, you just seemed a bit preoccupied-" Emberlynn continued, but a soft sound from the bushes brought her words to a halt. It was a rustling noise. The wind perhaps, or maybe a small animal? But during an event like this, every small noise set her on edge. Every small rustle could be an enemy lurking behind the trees. Or worse - a monster. Her form hunched a bit into a defensive position, her hand migrating toward her weapon.

She shot Sage a look as if to say Did you hear that? Sure it could be nothing. But what if it wasn't?

Elena had been excited for this event at camp and it seemed that everyone was attending. Not one absent or so she had seen so far. She wandered off the wooden trail finding for the blue team’s flag along with the rest. One of the older demigods was taking lead to spy on the blue team so she followed , some were going to attack face front but she decided to just stay back and scan through first. Ares children weren’t dumb and they wouldn’t give themselves just like that. She was standing with her team while venturing over the blue flag.

"Who goes there!?!" Emberlynn called out to the maybe-but-maybe-not-empty foliage. Another rustle among the branches. Something was out there. Well, someone, she hoped. If it was, in fact, something then she felt much less equipped to deal with the situation. Of course, it did provide some comfort that Sage was here with her. Whatever was there lurking, surely the child of Athena would have some plan for dealing with him. Or her. Or them. Or... gulp... it...

Ember breathed, trying to sound far more menacing than any teenage girl had a right to sound. "I repeat! Who goes there!?!" She held her breath, hoping and praying for a human response.

Elena was watching from afar but she couldn’t quite make out which teams were there at the blue flag station. She knew they were divided but not what was on the list yet. She had come here abruptly to guard their flag so she missed it. She walked closer and seemed to spot an iris and Athena there . She smirked, they weren’t hard for the attack, unless they had more backup on the back. Okay now what should they do? Plan, attack or distract? She then thought of something that might interest the Iris girl that made her chuckle a bit. She squatted as low as she could to dug herself beneath the plants and began making sounds of the leaves as if there was a creature passing by. Now she was eager to see how the blue team would react, or more so at the Iris girl.

"Sage!" Emberlynn yelped. "Over there!"

This time the leaves were moving. Low to the ground too... probably too low to be another camper. Unless it was a much younger child, or someone crouching very low. Surely they wouldn't be able to see much from that vantage point though, would they? Unless they were actively trying to trick her? But that seemed crazy.

"H-hello...?" She approached slowly, her voice trembling a bit. If it really was a rabbit or something, she was going to be thoroughly embarrassed. She slowly crept closer to the source of the noise, motioning behind her for sage to follow. Careful... careful now... She reached out to poke the moving leaves with the end of her blade...

Elena was careful not making any unnecessary sounds as she plots to distract them until they were tending to a ‘creature’ , the red team would infiltrate their flag station. Hopefully it would go well, if not though, she would happily run. She was sure this time that the Iris girl had headed for her direction. Chuckling all the way through, she watched their reaction. She reached over below to grab one of the stones besides a tree and loudly but slowly tap on the ground, making sounds of a ‘lion’ coming this way through. Hehehehe…..

The leaves moved away as Emberlynn poked them. In a moment she heard the soft pat...pat...pat... of paws against the forest floor. It was as she feared. Something was coming for them. Under cover of darkness, it was difficult to make out any shapes through the trees. Sage was always prepared. Perhaps she'd had a flashlight in her bag. Wait!

Oh, Emberlynn! You absolute dunce! Apparently the trauma of last year's scorpion attack was messing with her brain. Ember was a child of Iris. She didn't need a flashlight! She closed her eyes a moment, conjuring the warm tingling feeling that always accompanied her mother's divine intervention. Breathing slower now, she forced the feeling up through her core and into her palm, extending it toward the bushes. When she opened her eyes, a bright light pieced the darkness, illuminating the space.

She'd expected the shadowy figure in the bushes to be shaped like a large creature. A lion, or maybe even a hellhound. She'd even had a vague hope that the light might scare it way. But the figure wasn't a creature at all... it was quite distinctly human. Relief washed over her, then suspicion. Suddenly it clicked what must be going on. She gasped, calling back to the other defenders. "Be wary, friends! It's an ambush!"

Elena was expecting the opposing team to fall for the trap. they would think it was a lion and try to fight it while the red team can try to attack their flag station. Simple as that, but she was still doubting if they would make it a success. If only more of their team members would come and help. She continued to make the sounds as she also heard the nearing of human footsteps. She hoped there wouldn’t be a real creature coming this end as she wasn’t sure if her tapping sounds might attract them instead. The Iris  girl got closer and it seemed that she had some light in her eyes, but she couldn’t quite make it as she was ducked down beaneth. It was until the Iris girl got too close that she had spotted her and alerted back to her team. Dang, so close! But out of a sudden, a roaring sound appeared, and she was sure she hadn’t moved the stone or leaves any bit or had mimicked any creature in any way. No way, can’t be, a real creature….?  She turned around to see where and how far the creature was coming. She stood right now and backed away as she was no longer in need of hiding now, she would take the  attack either way. Now she hoped that the creature wasn’t coming this way, but if it was….well good luck to both teams!

Carter leant against the high branches of a mighty tree as he seemed to doze with his back against it. As a child of hypnosis he knew there wasn't much that made.his cabin excel at catching the flag, athena took the active front on planning and Iris looked for insight.

It was only with the years he had learnt that reconesence was his cabins best tool, a slight sleep that he could dip in and out of could keep him going. In his sleeping minds eye he saw them move around one another. Could take to the skies in his dream state and see his slumbering form, the other campers rushing to defend.

It took alot of effort to rouse himself to shout his team mates back to the flag. Once they were there it would be their job to fend off the incoming red team. He yawned opening his eyes and swallowed to wet his mouth "Incoming on the flag..." he managed to get his body working to increase to a shout "from deeper in the forest!"

This was about all he could really muster before going back for 'lucid guard duty', the others could take.it from here...

RPC 13 -Roast a Scorpion - 1

Emberlynn pushed back some of the brush, searching for whoever was trying to fool her. It took a moment to follow the human tracks, but they guided her to the offender quickly enough. Shining her light in the girl's direction, she drew in a quick breath. "It's you!" she exclaimed. She recognized this girl all right. This particular daughter of Ares had given her quite a few of the bruises she now sported from her last encounter with the red team. But before she could contemplate any for of vengeance, a roar echoes from a nearby group of trees. More tricks? No, it couldn't be. The culprit was right here in front of her, she would have seen if she had done something to make that noise.

Ember turned to the noise, risking letting the Ares kid out of her line of vision for a moment. What was over there was far more concerning. She knew that sound... Sure enough, a large, unmistakable stinger was sticking up over one of the bushes. "Nay... not again..." She tightened her grip on her blade. "Not this year." A freaking scorpion. Of all the things. She looked to the other girl, still crouched on the ground. She couldn't say she had much love or trust for a camper that had given her such a beating not too long ago. But her hatred for the evil creature before them far outweighed any human grudge. "You!" she barked, her previously shaky voice now for some reason filled with confidence. "To arms!"

Rebecca had gone back to the defense team to check out any movements from the blue. By the time she reached back to the attacking line, there were incredible sounds coming from deep of the forest. It seemed tense and ready to strike but it could be also just a small creature. But she wasn’t sure so she should warn the others to leave. At least from the blue flag station first. She  reached towards Elena , finding the Iris girl there as well. Not knowing what she was up to at that moment, and why Elena was standing there with her cautious stare into the forest, she grabbed Elena’s hand to back away from there. "What’s going on?……Why do we look like we’re teaming up?  "   She asked out mindlessly at the Iris girl as they looked like they were heading for the same direction. And then she saw it as it came closer . She didn’t realised it before, but that was one huge scorpion heading for their direction.

RPC #13

Why was she out here 4 months pregnant? Helena wasn't sure about that either. She had been given the option, because of her delicate condition to sit out this time. Perhaps she felt like she had something to prove. With Mateo gone, she had been trying to figure out where to go from here. She would need to be able to protect herself and her child, they couldn't stay at camp forever, could they? So what better way than to join in capture the flag and prove to herself an everyone around her that she had combat skills, even if she preferred not to use them.

When she actually got out there, however, she was already exhausted, so she volunteered to watch the flag, thinking it would buy her some time to recover. But the enemy team was already upon them, and some of the more overzealous scorpions had apparently decided to go half-blood hunting and were there now too. Helena pulled the bow from her back, hoping that her aim wouldn't be thrown too off course by her baby bump. "Watch out for the tails." she called out to the campers there.

RPC13 - 2 -

"We are teaming up," Emberlynn explained to the new arrival (well, new to her perspective at least). It was another of the campers that she'd just recently fought. Joy. Still, this was no time to get up in arms over a mere game. This here was a real threat. "At least that would be my recommendation. Assuming we all value our lives." She gave her signature welcoming smile. There were no hard feelings behind her expression now.  Simply a genuine desire to grind that Scorpion into yellow dust.

She lowered her voice, leaning in a bit closer to her two adversaries. For now, she'd rely n their support. They could duke it out over the flag once this was taken care of. "I have a plan. If you'll accept it, of course." She looked at the bow in the new girl's hand. "Do you have any arrows for that, or just paint?" She laughed a bit, showing her hand that was still tinted with the red paint from before. As if in response, an arrow came flying in toward the creature. The others had noticed! Thank goodness!

Elena was still standing across the blue flag that she could’ve have sworn she would just budge in and steal it but the scorpions weren’t letting them to. Instead they were heading after the flag team too apparently. Seemed like they were interested in the capture, or probably more to the demigods who might be potential food? She was shook by Emberlynn the Iris girl , and now they were forming a team to face the scorpions.  "Okay, agreed. Just for now." she made a friendly smile and shook her hand back, as an ally to the other team so that they could face the creature together. There was an arrow coming from the back revealing one of the Aphrodites coming into rescue. Well, should she tell the others too , form her team? Hopefully they’d be alerted by now, the Irises seemed to be messaging over to the other side of the hunt. "Uuhmmm will these do?" Her hand was still holding the stone and she thought that they might be a way to distract the scorpions while they find some weapons to use.

R13 - 3 -

"Hmm..." Emberlynn looked at the stone, quickly grasping what the girl was getting at. "Seems great minds think alike. Not to worry though, I have things covered on the distraction front." She smiled, and little twinkles of light danced between her fingers. She then knelt to ground and began rifling through her bag. "Here." She dropped a small dagger at the Ares camper's feet. Perhaps arming the enemy wasn't the best idea, but she could hardly expect them to charge into battle unarmed, could she?

"I'll draw it toward me and blind it just like..." she faltered, then shook her head. This was no time to be shy with her personal experiences. "Like the last time I encountered one of these horrid things. Once the foul creature has lost its vision, we charge it from both sides. Come in for a flanking attack... are you okay with that?" She realized that while she was taking on a great amount of the risk herself, she was also asking these other girls to put themselves in danger. Moreover, she was asking them to trust her.

Moving so that her back was towards the other half-bloods, Helena notched an arrow and sent it flying towards the Scorpion's face. If she could get it through one of the eyes, she hoped it might be enough to deter it, if not kill it. It felt like a small eternity before the arrow hit the creature. In that moment she only hoped that she had a fraction of the talent for bows that her half-brother, Eros did. Thankfully the arrow found its mark and lodged itself deep into the scorpion. The creature crawled a few more steps and crashed at their feet. However there were still a few more crawling and making their way towards the campers.

Notching another arrow, Lena called out. "Hey, I know you guys are young. But I can't do this alone. You're going to have to help fend them off, okay? Ares kid, Elena, right? How good is your aim? If you can hit them in the eye that will be good. But they'll come for you after that so you'll have to run." Then she called out to Emberlynn "Perfect, you go ahead and blind them. I don't have a melee weapon so maybe one of the others here can team up with you." She let loose a second arrow towards the next scorpion.

Elena was looking towards the scorpions while they fend for themselves . The dagger was placed onto her feet as Emberlynn flipped through her bag which she didn’t notice earlier. Indeed they do have backup supplies. "Thanks. I’ll be sure to hit ‘em hard" She smiled gratefully , totally forgotten about why she was here at the first place. Hopefully her team will come for their rescue. And then they’ll deal with the flag later. Or maybe just lose it. She turned towards the older Aphrodite girl Helena as she asked if she was good at the throw. They were planning to blind the monster few seconds back and Elena nodded reassuringly and smirked. "As good as we’re born to throw." Weapons and stuff were little things to them. They were only lack of magic like the Hecates or perhaps art. But they weren’t weak in combat.

What in the world was wrong with her???? Was she a space cadet? Well that was how it felt when emberlynn called for her to pay attention. Shaking her head she noticed so many trying to take their flag. “Sorry” she looked embarrassed as she then began to help fight them off. Gosh why was there so many of them!!!! Are none of them protecting their own flag? Well anyways she noticed Elena going to try and get the flag but she took out her sword and slashed it in front of her with a smirk. “Not so fast” the excited look came on her face as she was ready to play the game.

Sneaking up, James was trying to get a good view of the flag. Seeing that so many blue members were side track he felt like he could get a leg up on getting closer to it. He was kind of lucky like that!!! So without a word he found himself getting closer and closer to the flag as it seemed like no one was paying attention. If this worked then he would burn an extra offering tonight at dinner to his mother! The goddess of good fortune, Tyche! Smirking he made a quick run for the flag. Would he get it? Who knows?

Annie, back from the previous mission, was returning to base camp, now all she had to do was protect the flag, that was the purpose, right? She prowled around the perimeter her mates had set up and occasionally she scanned the trees for boys. She sat down where she thought she would have a good vantage point and began to dress the wound on her footit hurt enough but the pain was bearable, yes, there were more important things at the moment. Her head still ached after all the fighting but if she felt ready to charge back for the team, she could feel her blood boiling and her muscles quivering.
