Chapter 19: Glam, Fashion and the Makeover!

Recommended Posts

Evelyn was ready for her little date with her younger brother today. The two of them had planned it all out as they were going to try on clothes and maybe she would show him a makeup trick or two! Happy to have some time where they can just chill out and relax, as of late things had gotten a bit crazy for her. Evelyn was not really knowing what her love life was. First off, Theo her long time BoyToy was ignoring her. A little birdy told her that he was getting serious with Asher which just made her blood boil!!!!! He thought he could just throw her away like that after all they had done and been through.

Second there was her long time crush, Samantha who she had kissed in capture the flag. Was there something more there or was Samantha trying to hurt her???? Did her secret get out that she liked Samantha. Sitting down at a mirror she was putting on some highlighter on her face as she sang to herself in her room.

Alex had been spending the afternoon sketching and listening to music, stuck in his own little world. He had been listening to Romeo et Juliet’s for the past hour entranced in the gripping operatic music and sketching the balcony scene inspired by what he was listening to. Putting the finishing touching details Alex remembered that Evelyn had offered to give him some pointers on make up , a new interest of his. They were also going to try on some different clothes that Evelyn had grabbed for him to try on which Alex eagerly agreed to. He had always enjoyed trying different designers and styles and after being in the foster system where he was lucky to get a few new shirts and pants only every so often and certainly not designer clothes that he had envied to have as he read though magazines he reveled in the access to those things over the last few years. It had been Evelyn who had noticed his wanting wardrobe when he had arrived and had decided that simply wouldn’t do offering to aid him.  Over the last couple of years Alex had been able to really count on her as well as his other siblings. Even while he had been distant with others at camp Alex appreciated the sense of family he found in the cabin, something he had craved his whole life

Blowing on the piece to remove any lingering charcoal dust Alex moved off his bed and made his way toward Evelyn’s room. Giving a knock on the door Alex entered Evelyn’s room. “Hey, what do ya think” he asked showing his sketch off with a warm shy smile. Eyeing her vanity Alex’s face lit up with excitement “Is that the new Tarte lip gloss that perfectly matches your skin tone” he said eagerly.

Evelyn smiled as she saw her younger brother, Alex, enter her room. His sketch caught her attention, and she leaned in to get a better look, her eyes widening in awe. "Wow, Alex, this is amazing!" she exclaimed, genuinely impressed by his talent. "You've really captured the emotion in that scene. You're getting so good at this." Evelyn had never been one talented enough to draw or capture things in art. But she secretly loved to write just as her father did. Finding it a way that made her feel connected to him in a way since he was gone. Her excitement was infectious, and Evelyn's worries seemed to fade away as she focused on the positive energy between her and Alex. She set down her makeup brush and turned her attention to his comment about the lip gloss. "Yes, it is!" she beamed, glad that he noticed. "I thought you might like it. You have such a good eye for detail. You know, you could totally rock some makeup too if you're interested."

Evelyn's gaze drifted over to the clothes she had set out for their mini fashion show. "So, ready to dive into some outfit experimenting?" she asked, a mischievous grin playing on her lips. As she stood up, she playfully nudged Alex's arm. "I've got a feeling you're going to pull off these looks like a model on a runway." The weight of her earlier worries seemed to lift as she enjoyed this bonding time with her brother, focusing on their shared interests and the support they had for each other.
