  1. Alex felt that knot of anxiety that he had been feeling on his way over as he heard a voice welcoming him. Peeking his head in Alex gave a soft yet slightly nervous smile. Entering the space Alex took a moment to just look around. He had never really entered the space before. Seeing the stained glass windows he grinned “ I wish we had stained glass windows in our cabin. I love how they catch the light” he remarked aloud before turning to where Petal had set up a space for them “Awesome. I brought a punch of supplies. Probably more than enough for both of us but I cart my art stuff everywhere” he grinned as he took a seat and set up. “So what kinds of things do you like to draw” he asked excitedly
  2. When your best friend was your sister it probably meant that you were a bit pathetic. Alex absolutely loved his siblings but he was beginning to realize that he had been at Camp for three years now and needed to expand his social circle a bit or end up a loser if he wasn’t one already It had been overwhelming to know where to start. He was worried that he had lost any chance of not being judged for being aloof since he had thwarted many offers to hang out over the years. It wasn’t that he didn’t appreciate the effort, he did, he just didn’t trust himself to not get attached. People in Alex’s life had a tendency to leave as soon as he started to feel comfortable. Slowly though he was coming to realize that he would be at camp for the foreseeable future and maybe he could put more effort into getting to know people. He had gone to the party at the Dionysus Cabin a a couple of nights before figuring that was as good as place as any to try to scope out the friend scene. He had ended up striking a conversation with Petal and bonded over a mutual love of art. Feeling like it might be a good place to start Alex has suggested that they sketch together later and had been relieved when she didn’t shoot him down. Which led him here, standing in front of the entrance to the Iris canon sketchbook in hand. He took a deep breath and knocked. Here goes nothing.

  4. Alex was walking back from the archery range trying to figure out what exactly he wanted to do with the rest of his afternoon before dinner. Practice had left him feel energized and yet he couldn’t quite figure out what he wanted to do. He had at first considered bothering Evelyn to see what she was doing but felt bad that he might be taking a lot of her time lately. Evelyn had been the only person that Alex had let in in a way that was beyond the superficial. It just felt too dangerous and stupid. When he had arrived Alex wanted to believe what they were telling him but when you grew in the system you also learned that change was around the corner. He had never been outwardly rude to anyone, in fact he spent a great deal of time in his interactions focusing of being jovial but he never really had let people see him beyond what he wanted others to see Waving at people that he crossed paths with as he traveled from the arena back to his cabin, it almost felt as though he was lonely in a crowded room. It was his fault he supposed but he didn’t know how to change that even though he had made up his mind to. By the time that Alex had arrived back at his cabin he had finally decided on heading to the food stores. Baking being the latest of his creative pursuits, Alex had found a few campfire recipes that caught his attention and had been finding the ideal time to make one. Given that it was a bit of an overcast day his usual painting routine was replaced by heading to the food stores to see what they had. He felt not necessarily checking if he could take anything but felt too shy to ask. Spotting what he needed to make apple pie filling Alex made quick work of peeling and slicing before putting them in a pan to place on the coals of the fire at the center of the mess hall. @ Savanna Lewis
  5. Alex had been spending the afternoon sketching and listening to music, stuck in his own little world. He had been listening to Romeo et Juliet’s for the past hour entranced in the gripping operatic music and sketching the balcony scene inspired by what he was listening to. Putting the finishing touching details Alex remembered that Evelyn had offered to give him some pointers on make up , a new interest of his. They were also going to try on some different clothes that Evelyn had grabbed for him to try on which Alex eagerly agreed to. He had always enjoyed trying different designers and styles and after being in the foster system where he was lucky to get a few new shirts and pants only every so often and certainly not designer clothes that he had envied to have as he read though magazines he reveled in the access to those things over the last few years. It had been Evelyn who had noticed his wanting wardrobe when he had arrived and had decided that simply wouldn’t do offering to aid him. Over the last couple of years Alex had been able to really count on her as well as his other siblings. Even while he had been distant with others at camp Alex appreciated the sense of family he found in the cabin, something he had craved his whole life Blowing on the piece to remove any lingering charcoal dust Alex moved off his bed and made his way toward Evelyn’s room. Giving a knock on the door Alex entered Evelyn’s room. “Hey, what do ya think” he asked showing his sketch off with a warm shy smile. Eyeing her vanity Alex’s face lit up with excitement “Is that the new Tarte lip gloss that perfectly matches your skin tone” he said eagerly. @ Evelyn Scott
  6. Alexander Dion biography Like so many demi-gods much of the woes of his life can be attributed to events before his life. His mother Aphrodite had met a young man one night at a bar who had been so stricken by her beauty that he had professed his love for her right on sight. Flattered by his attention they had spent a passionate week together and then she left, as the gods are likely to do and his father had been heartbroken to the point of madness. 9 months later he was contacted about the birth of his son but wanted no reminder of the beauty and love that had been taken from him. He drank himself to death shortly thereafter and Alex was put into the system. From the time that he was born to his arrival at Camp Half-Blood, Alexander "Alex" was a child within the foster care system looked after by a saytr Magnis (Mags) who posed as his social worker. While he had been in the foster care system, Magnis had been the one constant in his life life that Alex could count on. For the first few years of his life Alex stayed with a family who adored him but were not able to legally adopt him. Alex was a charming, playful and very imaginative child who made friends easily. For the most part the first eight years of Alex's life were stable. Around his eighth birthday, however, things started to take a turn as he began to gain the attention on monsters nearby. Mags, fearing for his safety, made the arrangements for him to be placed somewhere new to the dismay of both Alex and his foster family. Several times over the next few years Alex would try to run away to get back to his first foster family remembering that love that he had experienced and wishing to go back to the place where had felt seen and wanted. The next few years for Alex were rough. Alex found himself being shifted from home to home every few months without much cause. This would be harder when he could feel the love certain families had for him. He wanted a home, a place where felt loved and could love but every chance he got it seemed that it was torn away. The constant change affected Alex who despite his natural charm and sociable nature started to become distant and introverted. After all, as soon as he became attached to a family or friends he would be moved. He was also told that he could not communicate with anyone via phone or email which made it hard to have any long lasting connections. He also struggled with self esteem not understanding why he kept having to find new placement feeling like he might be the problem but not knowing how to fix it. Then one fateful night, as if his life couldn't get any worse, several harpies descended on the house where he had most recently been placed and in their pursuit killed both of his foster parents whom he was beginning to grow attached to. As they were dying he could feel how in their final moments they they felt only love as they called out to him to run. Later as they drove to Camp Half-Blood he would learn the truth from Mags; as Alex was aging he had attracted monsters and that while Mags had tried to deal with them, as it was his first assignment he struggled to keep up. After saving him Mags brought to Camp Half- Blood he was both angry and lost. Upon arrival he was claimed by Aphrodite but this only made his life more confusing. After all, if his mother was a goddess why couldn't she have done more to protect him from the trauma of the last several years, of that night that haunted his nightmares. Aphrodite had claimed him as her son but it did not mean he had really found his family or place. The first year at camp was particularly difficult. While he had been assured that camp half-blood was his permanent home for the next several years he had a hard time trusting others resulting in him being both charming and overly sweet and yet reclusive as a defense not truly trusting that he wouldn't be asked to leave but that somehow he could use his abilities to control the situation. Alex tried to run away from camp once, very unsuccessfully. Now that it has been a couple years Alex is 15 and beginning to settle and let people in. Personality Fellow campers would describe Alex as the sweet guy who is a bit of a loner. When he is around others he is charming, imaginative, and has a natural gift for creating meaningful and engaging conversation yet will often choose his own company if given the option despite people often inviting him. As a child oh Aphrodite he has the ability to see and understand connections with others which he mostly uses to navigate conversations however, when he feels scared or hurt he sometimes abuses this power to get what he wants.
