Camp Half-Blood RP

Lower Your Psyche

Elliot Payne was in a bit of a slump. It had been weeks since his arrival here at this gods-forsaken camp. Weeks of sunny days under an ever sunny sky. Weeks of watching happy children in orange t-shirts play sports and sing by the fire. So many weeks of complete and utter boredom. His instincts had driven him here with promises of a show like none he'd seen before - chaos that would shake the world to it's very core. But so far there had been nary a sign of such a thing. Had the feeling not been so strong, and had instincts not been so accurate before, he might have he'd have long since taken off. But they were accurate. Something was coming, he was sure of it. But gods it sucked to wait.

At the moment he was out for a stroll. Not the most exciting pastime, but it was a good deal better than doing his assigned camp chores. A brief smile flitted across his face when he spotted the Arts and Crafts tent. The smell of paint conjured up so many pleasant memories. There was that one time in elementary school when he'd snuck into the art room during recess and swapped the labels on all of the different colored paints. Oh how he'd reveled in the confusion when it came time for class. Ah, and the time he'd rigged one of the glue bottles to empty itself with full force at the slightest touch. That prank had been particularly successful, as the girl who'd been caught in the blast had been certain that his victim had targeted her intentionally. Those two girls had been rivals for at least the rest of the year. Such fun times.

Those kinds of pranks were a bit childish for him now. He was a grown man after all. But perhaps the craft tent would offer him some way to entertain himself. It certainly couldn't hurt to poke his head in and look around...

Emberlynn hummed to herself, bouncing to the tune as she navigated her way around the craft tent. Out of all the wonderful amenities this place had to offer, this was by far her favorite. The tent was a veritable wonderland of materials for creative projects. From paints to clay to today's material of choice - scrap lumber. The cheerful teen picked out a couple of nice looking pieces and brought them over to the center table where she'd laid out a particular canvas. It was an old painting, and a quite odd one at first glance. A forest of rainbow trees sprouting up from pink grass, with a log cabin inhabited by a green-mohawked minotaur. The piece had been one of her earliest works here at the camp, and had remained her favorite ever since. Mostly because she and her sister Petal had painted it together. It could normally be found hanging up in the Iris cabin, but she'd decided it was high time she made a frame for it.

She was measuring out the back of the frame when a sudden chill ran down her spine. A feeling washed over her that she wasn't quite familiar with. Someone was approaching, that was certain, but this strange feeling... An Ares kid? Some of them had that aura thing that made other people angry... But this wasn't anger. It felt more like... well, not pain exactly. That feeling you get after pain - like someone had hurt her to her core and she needed to do something about it. For some reason it felt like she'd been thrown into the middle of a tense conflict.

Ember did her best to shake the odd emotion. "Hello there!" She called out in her best "peaceful" voice.  "To whom do I have the pleasure of speaking?"
