RPC 4) Actively avoid participating.

Killian was not one for games well that was unless it was a drinking game. Then he was all in for the fun of it! But with capture the flag it was just a time for some of the campers to show off their skills. He was on the Blue team with the rest of his siblings which he knew most would probably have a bit of fun. Make some drinking bets and see who would win. Killian on the other hand had walked away to find a quiet spot to not participate in the games. Walking through the woods he found himself at the creek which he walked to the edge, looking down at his reflection. Reaching into his pocket. He pulled out a flask which he unscrewed and took a drink before walking into the water.

Willow had been walking for a good several minutes before she finally found the creek. Usually they would fight east to west, but Lilythe had changed it up this time. Something about changing tactics. So it took Willow a lot longer to find her usually hiding spot than normal. She didn't love playing the game--she just wasn't competitive enough. So hiding out and enjoying nature until it was over had always been her go-to. The creek was a nice place to go because she could listen to the sound of it flowing, and catch the sparkle of the sunlight off its surface.

When she arrived, however, she saw the last person she had expected to see. She stopped and stared at him like a deer caught in the headlights on the interstate highway. Killian. Willow swallowed hard, and tried to silently back up and move further up the creek, but as she backed up, a twig snapped beneath her feet. Shit.

After seeing that their flag had been taken three times, Elijah could not help but feel demotivated. He wanted to prove himself to his team that he could be a good asset but instead actually helped out someone from the blue team to heal their ankle. It wouldn't be long for the news to reach them but he did not care. It was a person who needed help and he was going to see her again after the game ended. The boy shrugged at the thought as he noticed his older half-sister walking. Had she given up already? He found himself following her a couple paces behind, preferring to not make his presence known until later. Soon, the two of them reached the creek and the calming sounds of water running reached his ears. This is just what he needed. He had been standing a bit above so he was looking down at her but then he noticed a familiar figure down further. An orange, bearded man... Killian? What a coincidence. Seeing that she was backing up, the stepping on a twig caused him to rush drag her down to the ground to hide themselves.

At least, he can't see them from below.

Killian was just enjoying his time in the river when he heard a twig snap, his head turning quickly he saw no one but heard a ruffling of leaves. Who could that be? "Hello is there anyone out there?" He called to the area around him. Was it one of the monsters? Capping his flask he put it away as he grabbed his dagger he kept on his side. Looking around he began to walk towards the sound as to figure out who it might be or maybe what it might be????? Ready for anything to come his way, Killian had fought many of monsters in his time.

That was when another sound came from the opposite direction when a Hellhound was running away. Spitting on the ground he crouched as he began to run towards the beast. "Come at me you dirty little bugger" he said as him and the beats collided.

Stefan was letting that loss get to him. He was determined to defend the flag but he could not fulfill his role as he was expected to. Perhaps he was overconfident about it but it still does not change that he was not able to protect it. The man wound up walking away from the battle and followed the sounds of the river. It was appeasing and if he wanted to take a break, he'd visit this place again. Arriving in the creek, he knelt before the riverbank and leaned down to wash his face with his two hands scooping the water. His facial skin was being splattered with cool water before his hand began to rub against it to rid of the sweat and dirt. He was beginning to find this pleasant until he heard footsteps approaching. His brows arched. He thought he was going away from the battle but apparently it spread towards his way. Grabbing his spear, he readied his stance towards the direction of the sounds he had just heard.

The moment he spotted a hellhound running his way, the spear was hurled towards it with a dashing speed. It sped through the air until it pierced through the head of the monster, causing it to dissipate into the air. His weapon dropped to the ground once there was nothing left with the monster but after seeing the bearded male, he had to be cautious again. "Killian?" He licked his lips. He was far more closer to his spear. "Give me the spear and I won't hurt you. At least, I don't plan to."

RPC 12) Defeat some Myrmekes.   [1]

Killian was gearing up for the Hellhound when a spear came out of no where and pierced the beasts head. As the thing turned into monster dust, Killian's face was one of confusion as he turned to see Stefan from the Hephaestus Cabin. "Stefan" he said back as he slowly walked to the spear thinking about not giving it to him. Leaning down he picked it back up as he suspicious. Looking around he did not see any more red team sent to ambush him or take him to jail. So he walked to Stefan and held out the spear. "Here ya go, for the Hellhound" he said with a smirk.

That was when he heard the sound, the leaves were being rustled as he turned around looking to see where it came from. When he saw them, it was a set of 4 Myrmekes coming there way. "What is it about this spot that makes every damn monster come?" He said out loud looking annoyed. He came here to get away from all of this. Looking at Stefan "You get two and I the other two, eh"

At the sight of the myrmekes, Willow let out a shriek. That was her big mistake. There was one that was coming from her area that hadn't spotted her until that shriek, but now it was gunning for her head on. Willow was not a combatant. She was only really good at archery, and couldn't manage to do it under pressure like this. Especially not this close to the creature. She needed cover. She needed a front line. Her bow was practically just decoration unless she could get someone to cover for her. She dashed towards the boys, it was her only chance.

"Help!" She ran up to the first person and clung onto their arm pulling herself behind him. Killian's arm was warm beneath her fingers. As she realized whose arm she had grabbed, she blushed and let go. Now isn't the time, Willow. She chided herself and forced herself to find the courage to fight. You're a demigod, damn it! She grabbed the bow off her shoulder and notched an arrow. "Sorry for bringing another. I'll do my best to help." Willow took aim and tried to launch the first arrow at the Myrmeke who had charged her.

The arrow struck its target firmly in the eye. But that barely deterred the creature. It let out a wail--if it could be called that, it was more of a loud chittering--and seemed to double its efforts in the attack.

Elijah peeked his head from above as he observed the bearded man enjoy a swig of booze in his canteen. Well that ought to keep him distracted. He knew Willow has her reservations about the man and seeing her react that way after finding him, he felt like they needed to hide. However, the man seemed to be distracted by something else and the boy narrowed his eyes into a pair of slits. Who was there? A camper? Good lord if it was one of the blue teams... but instead it was a hellhound but why was it running away? Did Killian scare it off? It did not matter but at least the man is gone from the scene. It was only a moment of relief that washed over him when he heard a chirping noise coming from behind. Looking back out of instinct, it turned out to be horde of myrmekes. "Are you kidding me right now?"

He ran behind Willow as she sprinted towards where Killian was headed and found her under his arm before she readied herself for combat only to find another red team camper. Great. What a situation- but at least there is one person per large ant. Luckily for him, he did not just bring nonlethal arrows but ones made for killing monsters. "I'll try to get one of them away so it doesn't help. Good luck you guys. Willow! Please be safe." It was obvious he had extra concern for her older half-sister but he was already gone with one ant trailing behind him for the others to respond.

Once he is a bit ways from the rest of their little group, he turned around and readied his stance. "Alright, ant. Show me what you got."

If the hellhound was chasing him, he'd make a snarky comment on saving the man but that was not the case but having his only weapon be near an enemy camper is anything but ideal. Even so, it is best to play it safe as he could have thrown the spear farther out of his reach and he would have to go get it, risking his chance of meeting another blue team camper. The young adult remained in a wary stance, observing as Killian slowly lowered himself to retrieve his weapon from the earthy grounds of the forest. When he finally approached him, he grabbed it back with an awkward smile. "No problem, man. We're all about defeating monsters." Sure they are opponents in flag capture but it's better to work together against monsters who are always out to get them no matter whose god parent they have.

Stefan was about to take his leave until he heard footsteps coming their way. Another hellhound? Another camper? Either way, it's not good and he forced himself into a battle stance once more. Instead, it was Willow and Elijah - fellow red team campers. Well that was a relief- but the growing chirping noises interrupted his impromptu cooldown. Coming out of the bushes was a horde of myrmekes. "Hah! You're telling me." He responded to Killian's comment. "Looks like there is an even number. Killian-" Elijah interrupted him to speak his parting words before distracting one of them away. So that is one down, assuming he kills that one.

"Let's kick their asses then."

Killian was happy to know that the others in the camp still looked out for each other like they did when he grew up here. Smiling at Stefan as he replied that was when he heard them. The monsters he hated quite a lot. But what he did not expect was some running from the ground. The look of shock was on his face as he saw none other than Willow running his way. A raised eyebrow was on his face when Willow got behind him and griped his arm. He wanted to retort with something smartass but this was not the time as he could see she was maybe scared. "No worries my lady, we will protect you" she said turned with a smirk on his face. "Don't worry we will take care of it too" he said now feeling like he wished he could take on all of them in front of her. Why he felt this, he had no clue just yet but the feeling was there.

That was when he heard another voice which was Elijah. Where was all these red team members coming from? "Team Red seems to be coming out like bugs in the woodwork" he laughed shaking his head. Well maybe this was good they had more people to attack the monsters as they were nasty buggers. Watching Elijah try and take at least one of the monsters away he called out to him. "Don't get too far away, we are here if you need help." Watching Willow shoot an arrow and it get into the eye of one of the monsters she turned to her with his smirk "Nice shot, you stay back and try and not a hit me....I may look like a monster but I assure you I am not" he said laughing as he began to crack his neck.

Begging to run towards them, the beasties seem to be in rare form today as he was going to give it all he had. With his daggers in his hands he jumped when he got closer to the bestie as it began to spray poising at him. Getting over it he grabbed the beastie. Him being on it's back made it start to freak out. The other started to get closer to help its fellow bestie out.

Willow could feel the heat from her cheeks as Killian called her 'my lady'. She wanted to scold him and tell him this wasn't the time for flirting, but then he valiantly between her and the myrmekes and Willow felt her heartbeat skip. Stop it. He doesn't mean anything by it. He just flirts with everyone. She tried to remind herself.

Things were happening so quickly. Willow was having a hard time keeping up. Where had Elijah come from? She hadn't realized he had been there too. It seemed like everyone had the same idea and now they were paying for it.

Notching another arrow, she smiled at Killian's comment to her. "Dad's the god of Archery. Wouldn't be much of a daughter if I couldn't hit a target that big." She let loose another arrow, striking the same myrmeke, but it seemed like the arrow wasn't of much use. The giant ant-like creature just continued to push its way towards them.

The myrmeke continued to gait towards the boy as he let loose of the bow string. The arrow shot through the air, piercing the head but it did no good. The monster let out a loud chitter. It did not seem like it is going to back down but more like it grew mad. Elijah ran away from it as the chase continues. He did not want it's poison spray to even get near, saving himself a trip to the infirmary. Grabbing two more arrows from his quiver, he readied his bow for another attack - this time was his attempt at shooting two arrows to double the effect. After the next few moments, he did certainly strike his target but one of the arrows went in its vicious madible to be broken into two while the other pierced the area between its eyes. The giant ant let out another wail. Elijah was afraid that this time more of its brethren would show up as reinforcements but instead, it began to release a poison spray to his direction. And that's when he had an idea.

His next shot is going to give it even more hurt and hopefully will kill it.

"Team Red?" He responded to his comment. "Sounds like opposites attract, am I right?" It was his small attempt at lightening their ambush situation when it seemed like three red team campers joined him when he was avoiding to participate. Yet who could have predict that their little reunion would draw the myrmekes out of the ground and began their hunt to them? Stefan wanted to take a break from the battle too but it wound up going to them. What matters now is getting out of this buggy situation. One of the myrmekes confronted the young man on its own and he was happy to oblige. After that spear throw killed that hellhound earlier, he was feeling rather confident about his abilities. Though when another one of them chittered because an arrow was shot to them, his opponent was going to join in on the pair but Stefan preferred to get it away from the campers. "Come here, you little shit. Best not to approach those two." He began to admonished the critter and it seemed like his taunt was working as it turned to him.

"Guys, good luck!" He threw his voice as he led the giant ant ways away so he can confront the monster on his own.

Killian meant every word he said when he said to Willow when he said they would all protect her. That was one thing that was instilled in him as a young lad when he watched all his friends die.  From that day on he promised himself two things. One was that he would do everything in his power to protect everyone around him but two he would never allow anyone to become that close to him ever again. Sure everyone knew of Killian as the man of the party but did they really know him or his past? He found this the best way to protect himself but it also made things very lonely at times.

See the team around his assemble together, they had quite a spread of demi-gods. From the Apollo to the Hephaestus Campers it seemed like they had a pretty good chance of not getting hurt. "I guess you could say that" Killian shook his head and laughed at Stefan's joke about opposites attract. This made him glance over at Willow with a smile before turning back. As he made his run towards the beasties, he found that not all half-bloods like to stand and fight together. As Stefan and Elijah both tried to lead some away. This in his eye made them open for more of an attack because if any were to get hurt, then those two would be on their own. "Call for help if you need it" Killian called as he stabbed the first Myrmekes, it was not the happiest beastie as Killian was making sure of it!

That was when it happened, the myrmekes behind the one he had been stabbing was not happy as it had 2 of willows arrows in it. The whole thing happened so fast as the one he was one threw him off and before he could get up the dang thing shot poison at him. "Ahhhhhhhh you will pay for that" he yelled as he rolled to get up. The pain beginning to seep in as he jump to stable the one he hand been on turning it to dust. All that was left was the one willow had been shooting.

Killian's offer for help reassured that all of them are besting the myrmekes alive but Stefan wanted to end this as soon as possible so he could help them out. For now, the game did not matter but ensuring their survival and if they are lucky, saving themselves a trip to the infirmary. Either way, with those two Apollo kids? If they played their cards right they could ensure victory. One giant ant in front of him gaited rather quickly from the taunt earlier but he was about to halt its movement by hurling the spear towards its face but it grabbed the weapon with its mandible and threw it aside. "Damn, I should have threw that with my bionic arm." He spoke, a bit let down it did not make the strike. Now unarmed, he would have to grab his weapon somehow. The myrmeke seemed to be content with him being unarmed so it strikes back by lunging at him, only to get punched with the prosthetic arm. It flew back towards the ground, giving him that chance to grab his weapon back.

But as he was about to pick it up, the myrmeke hurled itself towards it and attempted to bite him but luckily, it was his prosthetic arm that it bit. Clenching his teeth, Stefan gripped his weapon and stabbed the ant, causing it to let go of his arm. There was slight scratches on his tech but it was nothing he can't fix. Stefan moved forward as it began to stagger but with his left arm he pushed the spear further inside the beast. A loud chitter parted its mouth from the pain and another when he pulled his weapon out. Looks like the battle's just getting started!

As the myrmeke attacked Killian, Willow let out a cry, "Killian!" She launched a volley of arrows at the final myrmeke. Each arrow gored a new hole into the creature. Eventually she was able to take it out. Rushing back to Killian's side, Willow looked over his wounds. They were significant but not life-threatening, thankfully. He needed immediate attention though.

Quickly she began to sing the Second Delphic Hymn to Apollo and placed her hands above the wounds:

Oh, come now, Muses,
and go to the craggy sacred place
upon the far-seen, twin-peaked Parnassus,
celebrated and dear to us, Pierian maidens.
Repose on the snow-clad mountain top;
celebrate the Pythian Lord
with the goldensword, Phoebus,
whom Leto bore unassisted
on the Delian rock surrounded by silvery olives,
the luxuriant plant
which the Goddess Pallas
long ago brought forth.

His wounds began to close. She had tears in her eyes as she looked down at him. This was all her fault. He wouldn't have gotten hurt if he hadn't been so busy protecting her. "I'm so sorry... Please be okay..."

Elijah was confident he was going to make this next shot. As a child of Apollo, why would not he be? The boy continued to sprint as the myrmeke chased him down the forest. A more tight grip held his bow, hoping for the spray to not make to to him. Finally drawing his arrow, he turned around in a swift motion to aim his weapon back to the creature. He clenched his teeth as he let go of the bow string. "Take this!" He exclaimed as the arrow was shot through the air. The creature pressed on, unaware of how fast it was going until the arrow pierced the arrow that was shot earlier. It split the wood, causing the wound to open wider with another arrow. A loud chirping can be heard from it from the pain but Elijah took this chance to shoot another arrow at the same spot. If there is no weak point, why not create one? It is what he had in mind moments before as he distanced himself.

And soon enough, the myrmeke began to vanish as it drew its last breath. A wave of relief washed over him, only to remember that the others could still be battling them. He began sprinting once more, hoping more that they are still alive than the creatures dead.
