Camp Half-Blood RP

Do I really need a new weapon?

A couple days had passed since the encounter with Kendall. Shadow needed a new knife, and of course he always had his knives made from a camper born from Hephaestus. So as he headed toward cabin 9, he thought long and hard, he knew he was going to see her there, but is hoping one of the others will be there. The last thing he wanted was anything made from her. Sure she is probably really good, but he couldn't accept something from her, how would that look in her mind! Shadow sighed as he approached the cabin, taking a deep breath he walked in, hoping that he caught her on a day that she would be gone.

Opening the door, "Hello, anyone here?" he questioned going up to the little desk they had set up in their cabin to help them take orders for weapons. He waited patiently, praying Kendall wasn't the one to answer him.

Her day had been going pretty good at the moment. She was off helping one of her brothers build something that needed a second pair of hands. She was a little dirty. Having grease on her hands and some on her face as well. Most of the kids looked like this, it was almost like a right of passage for them. She couldn't help but laugh at something that he had said when a voice broke through and grabbed their attention. Kendall blinked a little as she glanced at her brother seeing if her had thing where he was at and he nodded at her before she was off. It was her turn to look after the front desk in the cabin. That was the way that they got asked for new weapons or whatever it was they had in mind for them to make, because it could be just about anything. It was quite easy for the cabin to do. However, where she was one of the older ones, she could be one of them that held responsible for manning the desk.

She made her way to the desk, her boot hitting the floor making a thud noise as she placed a pencil behind her ear. It took no time for her to round the corner. She glanced around at who was there and she couldn't help but raised an eyebrow at him. Shadow? What was he doing here? He normally didn't use weapons or anything like that. she would honestly know that much about him. He couldn't be down here to talk to her, and with that though a frown tugged at her lips. He was still trying to work thing out with Lilythe. When she had gotten to her cabin, she had heard all the details of what was happening around the camp. She was a little sour at how their first interaction had been, but who cared right? She walked over to the desk, placing her hands on the corners of it and lent in a little to look at her book. Seeing if they had opening, when she knew that she did. She glanced up at him. "What can I do for you...sir?" She cocked her head to the side.  Half of her blonde hair was braided, and the other half laid Stright down. She had on some tight tiny shorts on, to show off her legs, which also had some grease on them as well. Her shirt was the tacky orange camp half-blood shirt that was tired to the side, showing a little bit of her mid drift. She waited for him to say something. She honestly just wanted to get back to her brother and help him, but everyone needed a fair chance to get something that they wanted.

As Kendall round the corner, Shadow could feel himself wanting to back out and come back a different day. Giving her a once over, he really couldn't believe how much she had grown. Shadow shook his head and tried to look around the corner she came from, but he couldn't see anyone. Having an internal battle in his head on what to do, without thinking he looked at her, rolling his eyes "You look like your busy" he says with a half cocked smile, walking toward the door. Everything about her screamed dananger to his plan with Lilythe, he didn't know why, maybe because he didn't want to admit that she had grown into a very attractive women, or maybe it was just the fear of her telling Lilythe something that might mess stuff up, like him patting her ass. Either way, it had his mind racing. What are you thinking you idiot, I mean I can find another girl attractive can't I, it's not like I want her, I would never, I want Lilythe...he thought as he stared at her for a moment, lost in thought.

Placing her hands down she asked him, in total sass, what she could do for him, which snapped him from his thoughts. "Well, I need a Knife, but I can come back a different day." he says with hesitation.

She watched him look at the corner that she rounded, and she glanced back there wandering if one of her siblings were there. Though there was no one there. She turned to see him rolling his eyes before he said that she looked busy. Why did he roll his eyes. She hadn't done anything to him, yet, but there was that smile he had. She raised an eyebrow at him and shrugged. "Oh, not really. I was only helping a brother...out..." She stopped knowing that he wouldn't care about what she was doing. She bit her lip for a moment and sighed flipping through her book once again. Sometimes, she wished that she could read minds just to see what he was thinking about half the time. He was staring at her a little longer than normal and she could feel goose bumps starting to prickle on her skin.

She placed her hands on the table and asking him the question about what he wanted. So, she might have been a little sassy about it. Honestly, she couldn't help it. She just had a need to want to do that around him. She wasn't clear as to why that needed to happen just yet. He told her that he needed a knife, but he would come back a different day. Again, an eyebrow rose, and she crossed her arms. "Well, if you come back a different day then You'll be waiting weeks for one." she told him as she cocked a hip out. "Besides, I have nothing to do. I can make it." She always enjoyed making knifes. So why not give her the chance to do it. She was damn good at what she did. She brought the pencil from her ear and tapped it on the book and give him a smile. "So, what will it be?" she tilted her head to the side. "Weeks away or later tonight?" She questioned him. She was trying her hardest to show him that she was willing to work with him if he gave her a chance. I mean if he ever did that would be a miracle. He was so in love with Lilythe that he couldn't see past his own ass. Which hurt her a little, but she was slowly getting over that fact.

Shadow turned toward her when she said that it would be weeks if he came back later, which made him second guess his own opinions. Watching as she grabbed her pencil from her ear and started tapping on the book. He sighed and walked back closer to the desk, he had no doubts that she could make a good knife, and most the others here at the camp right now are younger with less experience then her, he thought about it and sighed giving her a smile "Fine". He cocked his head and gave her a look when she cocked her hip out with her little attitude, not know how to respond to that, he just laughed at her sassiness. He didn't want to wait weeks either, so that was a big reason he had changed his mind. Plus she mentioned getting it later tonight, which kinda shocked Shadow, he didn't think it could be done so quick. Looking down at the paper "I'll let you do it, if you can really get it done by later tonight" he comments.

Now to figure out what kinda knife he actually wants, he was considering just small pocket knife but he wasn't sure if that would really be for him. A brow raised as he looked her in the eyes "What kind of knife would you recommend? I want something easy to conile, nothing to bulking" he says with a smirk on his face.

Kendall watched him as he moved right back to the desk, and she couldn't help but tilt her head at him. He was changing his mind about her making it huh. When the word fine came out of his mouth, she couldn't help but grin at him. She was both excited to be able to make something to keep herself busy but also, she was going to be making a knife for him to use around the camp or however he was going to use it. She wasn't sure and she wasn't going to be asking him any kind of questioned about it either. She nodded her head and flipped through the book, pulling out a page of it before closing the book and putting the paper on top of it. She started to draw a hard draft of what the knife would look like, and it only took her a couple of moments to get it done. She gave him a salute as he told her he would let her do it if she could really get it done by the end of the night. "Aye Cap." She grinned happily. This was her zone. He should know that. Well, that and the fact that she was a damn good hacker as well. But no one really needed to know that much about her right? "So come back before lights out and I'll have it wrapped for you." She was giddy about it and she was showing that side of her. She was even bouncing on her toes a little.

Her blue eyes sparked a little as he looked her in the eyes. He was talking her language at the moment. She hummed as she started to add more to the drawing she had on the book before turning the paper to him. "It's going to be smaller in person, I just made it bigger so I could add more details." She told him with a smile. "It's a pocketknife, easy to grip and carry. Hopefully, if I can get it to work. All you'll have to do is fling it out and it will open up." She started writing in ancient Greek around the pages, reminding her of little details. "It will be small enough to keep in your pocket...do you want me to add a clip to it as well?" She questioned him a little now looking back up at him. She had gone and just chatted his ear off, she hadn't meant to, but this was her life. Much like her father, she was pretty good at making weapons.

Shadow smiled at the drawing, seeing the work just on paper of what this girl can do eased his feelings against her just a bit. "Yes, I would like a clip" he says, as he watched her take some notes down, he smiled happily with the item she was designing. He really liked the look of the knife, and couldn't wait to see the final product. "You can really get that done in just a few hours?" he smiled. He didn't usually carry a weapon around but he thought it might be a good idea that he started.

"Could you add a design into the handle?" he questioned with a smirk. Shadow thought about getting the Hecate symbol on the handle, if she was able to, in the little amount of time she has. He couldn't help but let his eyes trail down her body for just a moment. Shaking his head, he rolled his eyes at himself.

Kendall couldn't help but grin as he agreed to the clip. She wrote that down as well and glanced back up at him for a second, getting a better look at him. She couldn't help but want to watch him more since she got back. She had been trying to hardest to not sink back into the way that she was before she left. She had grown and she wanted to keep it that way. So of course, little glances here and there should totally be okay and with him talking to her the way that he was, she would totally be able to keep eyes on him without him knowing what she was really up to. The grin never left her face as she nodded. "Sure. I've been done this since I was twelve." She told him as she placed her hand on her hip.

She hummed a little as he asked her about a design on the handle and she couldn't help but laugh a little. "Can do, what kind did you want?" she questioned him as she swayed from foot to foot. She noticed him looking at her and she couldn't help but hold in the smirk she wanted to show. But again, that would tell him that she caught him looking. Eat your heart out Shadow. she mused to herself waiting for him to tell her what he wanted.

Shadow grumbled to himself, shaking his head, he seriously needed to stop this. But he found that he couldn't help but look, looking didn't hurt anything, he just didn't need her knowing that he was looking. Smiling at her, "I just was the Hecate symbol on it, not to hard" he commented. Standing up straight he adjusted his shirt. "Is there anything else you need for me?" he questions as he turns for the door. He really didn't know what else to say, or if he should stay or go, he was in an awkward situation and wasn't sure how to handle it. Normal he had everything under control, but being around Kendall seemed to knock since of control, because he really didn't know how to read her. She was strange for sure, but maybe she has changed?, he told himself, as he watched her finish up some notes on the paper.

"Thanks, Kendall, what time should I be back?"

"Nothing's too hard for me." he mused with a smile as she wrote that onto the paper that she was drawing on. "Is that all that you want on it?" she looked up at him from under her eyelashes. She waited for him to shake his head before looking up at him all the way. "Well, if you don't want anything else then that is all I need, and you can come back later for the knife." she smile brightly at him as she watched him go to the door. She was pleased with herself at the moment. She knew that she had to play it off like she had cleared her old habit. It was nice to act a little different, though a little strange at the same time. She glanced down at her paper and knew that she needed to get going with it now or she wouldn't have it done by tonight. She was lost in her own thoughts for a moment when his voice knocked her back to reality. "Oh, um..." she began thinking about it. "Come back right before lights out, kay?" she told him with a small smile. "That's around nine-thirty here." she told him as she picked up the paper and went to turn on her heels. "Oh, and don't be late." she joked with him.

9:30pm - lights out

Kendall was putting the last of the symbol on the knife when she heard someone knock on the counter. She blinked and looked up at the clock that was on the wall and her eyes widened. It was lights out. Crap. She rushed a little more, calling out to the person that was waiting. "I'll be right there." she blew some of the hair out of her face and then once she was done, she stood up, pulling the knife to her face looking at it in all different angles. It looked pretty. She had done a very good job of it, and she was proud of only having a couple of hours to do it in. She grinned and began to walk to the counter where she noticed that Shadow was there. "Oh, right on time." she grinned as she held the knife out to him. "Done as promised." she told him with a grin.

Shadow got to Kendall's cabin just in time, he was pretty excited to see the weapon he asked her to make. When he walked inside he heard her call out, walking over to the desk he stuck his hands into his pocket trying to look around the corner, but all he could see was darkness "your good" he finally answers. He looked around the room, admiring the look of the Hephaestus cabin. Slightly startled when Kendall comes into the room "of course, I don't like to be late" he said with a small smile upon his face. He steps back toward the desk, well admiring the room he apparently moved away from the desk without realizing it.

Shadow reaches out to take the knife "thanks" he says casually, as he holds it in his hand. Flipping back and forth, closely admiring the work. Smiling he flicked his wrist and popped the knife open. The blade came out so smooth, he loved it. "This is beautiful, you truly did an amazing job in just a short amount of time" he couldn't help but compliment her work, she was after all very talented.

Kendall smirked a little as she watched Shadow look around the cabin. It was something that she felt proud of. She loved the place in which she lived at. She grinned once again while turning to look at him again. He told her that he didn't like to be late, and she liked that. She didn't like to be late either. Something about it didn't made sense to her. She didn't know that about him, but it was something else she liked about him. She handed him the knife and watched carefully as he took it from her. She was curious to know how he would feel about it. About having it around with him all the time knowing that she was the one that made it. He was still a little worried about her but that didn't matter to her at all. As he flicked his wrist the knife opened, and she was excited to see that the spring had worked. He seemed to like it as well. Her grin only widened, and she stood a little taller when he told her that he she had done an amazing job. "Thank you. I do my best all the time." she said as she crossed her arms a little giving him a prideful in her work. "Do you need anything else?" she titled her head a little now curious.

Shadow smiled at Kendall seeing her stand taller at his compliment. "You should be proud, you really do, do a great job" He admired the blade one more time before closing back up and sliding it into his pocket. "How much do I owe you?" he questioned her, as he reached for his wallet. He wasn't one to really use swords in a fight, since he had his powers, but when she asked if him if there was anything else he needed, he debated on asking her to make him a sword. "Hmm, you know I could go for a sword" he says with a smile. He wouldn't mind seeing what kind of sword she would make for him.

Just then he had a great idea. Shadow decided since Kendall does such beautiful work, he would love to have her make Lilythe a beautiful pocketknife as well. "Actually, you know what, can you make a small pocketknife for me to give to Lilythe as a gift?" he questions with a huge smile on his face, just thinking about Lilythe made him extremely happy.

Kendall couldn't help but feel flattered about the fact that Shadow had said something like this to her. She was always one to be proud of the things that she had made. She tilted her head and smiled brightly at him. She was on a high because the person that she liked had liked what she made. What girl wouldn't be like that? She came down from it when he asked how much that he owed her. She thought for a moment before smiling. "Normally I would ask for about 10 Drachmae, but I loved making that thing it was really awesome. So, I'll just have you give me half that. So, Five." she grinned as she held out her hand. Waiting. She had a collection of the coin in her cabin. She got her and her sibling's things all the time with it. She hummed for a second when he asked about a sword. "I mean I could make that; it would take longer. A week and a half to make it nice." she told him as she brought her hand to her chin, "Although, that would be about 20 for that one." she told him and went to say something else but ended up stopping when she noticed that smile on his face.

She tilted her head down looking at the next opening that she had in her books when he started talking once again. She blinked a little and nodded, when he brought up a pocketknife for Lilythe. She stopped and rose an eyebrow. "She wants a pocketknife?" she asked curiously. She didn't see her using it but she could do that. "I mean I can, just give me some detail and I can get that to you in the next couple of days." she told him wondering what the man seen in Lilythe. Maybe she was easy or something. Maybe he really did love her, which was sad for her at the moment. But she had been living through it this long so what is a little longer. She would get him to noticed her a little more later or something.

Shadow smiled reaching into his pocket and pulling out 10 Drachmae, handing it over. "Thank you again! Take the other 5 as a tip, you deserve it" he gives her a big smile, as he tucks the pocketknife into his pocket. Thinking for a moment, he decided he wants the sword, pulling another 10 Drachmae he hands it to her, "Half up front, Half when you deliver?" he says with a smirk. A sword would work great for him, especially being able to use his magic with it, that would be great. Thinking about the pocketknife for Lilythe, Kendall asked the question that he was asking himself "honestly, I don't know if she would want one or not, but I just thought it might be a nice gift for her" but has he says it out loud he realizes that maybe it isn't the best gift for her. "On second thought, I won't worry about the pocketknife" he says as he turns on his heel and walks toward the door.

"Bye, see you in about a week" he says as he walks out of the cabin.
