  1. Henry's whole body shuddered at the mention of spiders, making her vulnerable to attack from Sage. Rookie move. "Don't... I'd even teach at camp til I die if it guaranteed me protection from those things." Seeing an opening as Sage reacted to the thought of Shadow, Henry lunged forward with her sword. "You might have mentioned that," she smirked, knowing that it had been a topic of discussion they'd practically done to death. "So what do you think he's hiding? Any theories in that notebook of yours?" Henry knew this was something Sage felt passionately about, and she wanted her sister to get it off her chest. Henry herself wasn't well enough acquainted with Shadow to be of any help, other than an ear to listen. She held her hand up as a signal for a break, then dragged it across her sweaty forehead. Training in mid-afternoon on a hot day was a bad idea.
  2. Henry's nose wrinkled at the thought of leaving the camp like that. "Gods help them. I'm staying right here for as long as I can!" The girl didn't like to admit it, but she was scared of the world outside the camp's borders. Sure, the monsters were bad but... pretending to be normal, fitting in with society, getting a job? That was all worse as far as she was concerned. And if she left, she'd be leaving behind so many people. Sage included. Shaking off the thoughts, Henry dodged a very competent attack from Sage. The sound of their weapons clashing together was abrasive but comfortable, somehow. Familiar and homey. "What else? Hey, how about that guy you hate -- Shadow? Any updates?"
  3. "If knowledge is power you're as good as a mortal, Sage! A draw!" Henry retorted, but she had a hint of a smile on her face. Like any sister, Sage knew how to push her buttons. Drawing her sword and standing with her feet apart, Henry cocked her head at Sage, challenging her to strike first. Classic Athena's child move; you want to give the enemy an opportunity to show their weaknesses. Of course, Henry knew Sage's weaknesses already, about as intimately as Sage knew all of hers. At camp, you just have to act like every fight is your first. "No way, she was always so sweet! Hey, if it's true, dibs not babysitting -- Matteo's spawn? Gods, what a nightmare that kid would be!" Henry didn't know Matteo well at all, but his reputation around camp was far from flattering.
  4. Henry was standing, celestial bronze sword at her side, when her sister approached her. They had been close for a long time -- both in proximity and in spirit. Sharing a cabin at camp was both a blessing and a curse; built-in friends, built-in arguments on cabin inspection days. "Ugh, I've been waiting forever! Is scribbling in your notebook really more important than training? I bet you 3 to one last time, remember?" she teased, grinning as the pretty girl approached. Sage was fantastic company, a worthy opponent AND a never-ending fountain of camp gossip.
  5. Friends: Sage Roberts (sibling), Petal Price, Tempest Truett (mentor + first friend at camp) Enemies: Liam Santos Henry dislikes all Ares campers, but particularly Liam. They first spoke in 2021 during a combat training session; that night she slipped a note under his door tallying her win over him. She continued to chronicle their scores over the next year. Love interest: Liam Santos Sexual tension to the extreme, culminating in a fateful iris message during a game of truth or dare. Henry was challenged to flirt with her greatest enemy at the camp, and Liam fit the bill perfectly. When she spoke those words to him though (calling him baby, suggesting a one-on-one training session), everything changed. They each stayed up all night trying to process the feelings they thought they understood. As Henry rolled over in bed, she caught a glimpse of the paper tacked to her wall. Her tally, keeping score on who won every battle the two had ever had. It was evenly matched. Henry had defended that particular piece of wall decor to her sister Sage on many occasions; her wise sister had always raised a smug eyebrow and muttered something about the way he looks at you. Henry hated her sister's teasing, and yet... closing her eyes brought images to her mind, the kind she'd always been able to brush off before. Liam, shirtless and glistening in the sun as he trained. Triumphing in war games over the Athena cabin and giving her an infuriating wink. That iris message, him wearing only a towel... oh gods. Henry was furious at him for being attractive, and at herself for being so charmed by his cocky, arrogant, Ares boy charm. She had strange dreams that night, and woke up with her lips feeling cold. Smut AU turned canon! After Liam gets a troubling visit from his dad, Henry finds him at the lake. Her sarcastic remark turned into a heated spar, clashing swords and bickering back and forth. Liam tackles and pins her to the ground, where he surprises himself with a suggestive comment. Henry counters every quick remark, bratty and challenging, until they finally submit to their true desires.
  6. Henrietta "Henry" Abbot biography Henry grew up with her washed-up author father, drifting from state to state, school to school… the classic demigod situation. It wasn’t an unpleasant childhood, aside from the frequent nightmares and monster sightings, but it left a little to be desired. While not abusive, Alistair was never a warm parent. Ever since her mysterious mother abandoned them both, Henry’s dad was depressed and uninspired, living off the salaries from his first nine crime novels. Henry learned from a young age that independence was important; her dad’s nose would always be parallel to a blank document on a computer screen. She reheated a lot of leftovers in her first eleven years or so. Henry was a good student, bright and precocious despite her ADHD and Dyslexia. She excelled mostly in debate and visual arts. While academically gifted, Henry proved to be socially disadvantaged: her outspokenness made her unpopular with her peers. Her teachers found her ambition challenging and her antagonistic personality jarring. She had few friends and spent most of her time alone. That was until Magnus -- a strange boy with a slight limp -- transferred to her new school in Ohio. He hovered around Henry, seemingly taking a deep interest in her which she was very flattered by. Stuck in Ohio at twelve years old, it unfolded all at once: a disaster, seemingly caused by her, at the school in which she was enrolled. In actuality, the damage was the result of a hellhound rampaging after her through the hallways. Discovered sheltering in the art department by Magnus, Henry was given the spiel. It was only when Magnus revealed his goat legs that she believed him. She tried to have a mild reaction, but in reality her emotions were mixed: disbelief, relief, concern, anger, and hurt all whirled through her brain. Despite having several run-ins with monsters throughout her younger years, Henry had never told anyone about it. Her father was emotionally unavailable, and she had no friends to share her visions with. The monsters made her paranoid and scared, worrying from a young age that she was crazy. Magnus whisked her back home while the school frenzied about the damage. There, he explained everything to Henry and her dad. Alistair almost seemed relieved, confiding that he could see through the mist; he admitted to suspecting Athena’s true identity and blaming his writer’s block on her abandonment. Henry then allowed the satyr to drag her across state lines all the way to Montauk, Long Island. Once there, a close call with a cyclops leaves her with a black eye for her first three weeks as a camper. At the end of that third week, she was claimed by Athena. It was only then that she began to feel a sense of belonging at Camp; her outspokenness embraced, her ambition rewarded, and her quick wit recognised. While she struggles to share a space with her siblings (and is famously messy), she feels at home with them. Secretly Henry holds some resentment for Athena, blaming the goddess for her father’s depression and emotional neglect. Henry’s three years at camp went by with relatively little upset. The odd monster attack, the reality of watching other campers leave on quests, the horror when they never return. But, hey! That’s just what demigod life is like. Personality From the outside, it may look like Henry is completely self-assured. She is outspoken, opinionated, and even occasionally antagonistic. She is known to use her quick wit in tandem with her sharp tongue to keep people at arm’s length. If you want banter, she’s your girl. If you want sincerity? You’ll have to prise it out of her cold dead hands. However, underneath that tough exterior Henry is an extremely emotional person with much more capacity for love than she’d like to admit. Criticism is taken entirely to heart, and often results in outbursts of anger (especially if she feels you’ve made a valid point). Henry tends to have her guard up, especially around new people. Having always been an outcast, that is where she’s most comfortable – making smart remarks from the outskirts of things. Morality and justice are deeply important to her. She is willing to resort to violence when necessary, especially if she sees those values being disrespected. She favours sparring with swords, but isn’t afraid to get her knuckles bloody either. As a daughter of Athena, Henry has a deep craving for knowledge. She spends most of her time researching the great Greek sculptors. Her biggest aspiration (aside from proving herself in a quest) is to sculpt for the Gods themselves, immortalising them in marble for the world to see. About Me Birthdate: November 14th, 2006 Likes: Sculpture, debate, the rain, being right, swordplay, praise of any kind, horror movies, loud music Dislikes: Ignorance, heat, maths, the climbing wall, disloyalty, asking for help, being proved wrong, being called Henrietta Family: Mom: Athena Dad: Alistair Abbot, 42 years Siblings: Cabin 6 Other: None Happy Thoughts: Listening to music or watching horror movies somewhere warm and comfortable, with heavy rain falling outside. The textures of marble and damp clay. The satisfaction of stepping back from a piece of art she’s finally finished Nightmares: Falling in love only to be abandoned, being vulnerable with the wrong person Fatal Flaw: Hubris. Like all children of Athena, Henry’s pride often gets the better of her. She tends to take on more than she ought to or is capable of, especially because of her independence. She believes that asking for help is beneath her PLAYED BY: CICADA FACE CLAIM: SOPHIE THATCHER
