Whozits and whatzits galore

Hailey has enjoyed spending time around camp during the holidays. Mid year holiday for camp. And she was hoping to learn a few lessons on arts and crafts. Her art abilities have grown even better as she grew as being an Iris had made her into an artist of sort. She was also always hanging around the grounds area of the camp since she likes the outdoors as well. Being out in the open let her mind think well , especially the sounds of the waves of the sea beating the shores. She was at the beach today, wondering if she could find some good treasures out here. She always think that there might be water creatures who would happen to leave some treasures off shore, or nearby where they landed towards the beach. She was putting her hopes up as she glanced around the beach and to the sea, back and forth. There were a few others here who were having some fun as well. She was planning to go into the waters if she couldn’t find anything here, but right now she wanted to enjoy the moment at the beach. It was a Summer season too so the weather was bright and nice for her.

As Petal made her way toward the beach her senses were immediately flooded with the familiar scents of salt and sea. She loved this place - the feeling of the sun on her skin, the distant cries of the seagulls, and the ceaseless lull of the ocean waves. It was the perfect spot for her adventurous spirit and it made her heart flutter with excitement. Cradled under her arm was a bright beach blanket, an oversized hat to shield her from the sun, and a cooler packed with refreshing drinks and snacks. As a demigod she was always ready for an adventure.

Spotting a familiar figure her heart gave a little skip. It was Hailey her half-sister, standing at the edge of the water. Petal had always admired Hailey's calm demeanor and artistic talent. However, today she seemed lost in thought, gazing out at the horizon. Petal, being the vivacious spirit that she was, decided that she couldn't let this moment pass. Breaking into a spontaneous sprint she dashed towards the water yelling at the top of her lungs, "Hailey! Catch!" Without a second thought, she tossed her beach ball in the air towards her sister. With an impish grin, she added, "No room for daydreaming when there's fun to be had!" Petal was keen to share her infectious energy and love for life with her sister.

Hailey was indeed still admiring the calming and tendering waters of the ocean. Somehow she loved the waves here more than the England beaches haha. It was like they were meant for the demigods and the camp. She even wondered what kind of sea sports they could do since she was free now. It was when a familiar voice called out to her, calling her to catch something. Ooh, immediately she turned her head and hands covering her eyes for protection. But she was seeing a beach ball and she quickly opened her hands to prevent it from falling. Plop! Onto her hands it went. Irises children did have their quick senses sometimes. " Well was I? Haha…. Wow looks like you’re prepared for a picnic here." She chuckled and guessed it upon seeing the cooler her half sister Petal was holding. She was happy to see her energetic and bright sister everytime. She went away from the waters and began approaching Petal to see what she was up today.

Bright-eyed and bursting with excitement Petal watched as Hailey successfully caught the beach ball. "That's my sister!" she cheered with delight. She was always amazed by Hailey's reflexes, Petal wasn't half bad herself but she felt like Hailey had a 6th sense for that. One of the reasons she felt confident throwing things at her sister! She loved how Hailey always humoured her in her high-energy antics. As she skipped towards Hailey, the sand warm beneath her bare feet, she could see her sister's slight smirk. "Well, isn't that what summers are all about?" Petal responded, setting down the cooler and unfurling the beach blanket with a dramatic flourish. "Picnics, beach balls, and sister time! Plus, what's a day by the sea without some fresh lemonade?" Petal giggled, popping open the cooler to reveal her homemade lemonade. It was these times, the seemingly ordinary moments she shared with her sister and other campers that she cherished the most. Petal couldn't help but feel a rush of excitement as she thought of all the fun they were about to have. "Ready to make some unforgettable summer memories, sis? What''s been new with you this Summer? It's been awhile since we've had the chance to catch up!" she asked with anticipation.

Hailey giggled as she was always cozy and happy around her siblings. They had almost everything in common and she really loved being with family. "Yess you’re right! Ooh you’ve got just the one I need!" She placed down the ball and focused on the picnic things Petal had brought. She reached for the lemonade as it was one of her favourite drinks. It was probably their favourite drink as well! But she loved the sister time the most definitely. "Always ready haha. Well I’d love to learn some new swimming skills, or diving maybe. How about you? Met anyone so far? Hahah…" She laughed a bit on her last words. She loved the conversations with her siblings as they were always fun , plus they were all in the same wavelength. You know sometimes when other demigods don’t get you , but your siblings will always do.

Petal grinned at her sister's question. She loved that Hailey was always interested in what was going on in her life. She let out a small sigh, her eyes dancing towards the distant direction of the Ares cabin before they darted back to her sister. "Well, it's funny you ask, sis..." She started, twirling a loose strand of her hair nervously. "It's been a bit of a busy Summer for me you might say. You know Liam, from the Ares cabin?" Petal couldn't help but let her smile grow a little bigger at the thought of him. He was brave, and always up for an adventure - just her type. But then her gaze softened a bit, shifting to a different point on the campgrounds, towards where the Tyche kids usually hung out. "And.....well...there's also maybe Andralyn, from the Tyche cabin, too." She confessed, Petal felt her cheeks grow hot, a nervous giggle escaping her lips.

Her heart pounded in her chest. Saying it out loud made it feel more real, more serious. Petal bit her lip, uncertain of how Hailey would react. Would she laugh? Would she be shocked? Petal shook her head, trying to dismiss her worries. "It's... it's nothing big, really! Just some silly crushes. I guess I'm still figuring out which to pursue ya know? What about you, sis? Any special someone caught your eye?" While nervous, the fact that she had confided in Hailey brought her a certain comfort. After all, who better to discuss her love life with than her sister?
