Truth, Dare or a Secret Third Thing

Recommended Posts

Miro knew that now it was his turn to decide the next unfortunate, he thought a little and decided by sight, since he didn't know so many people, many of them he only knew the name and divine parent, but that was enough, right? "Well Alyssa up to you now, truth or dare?"

Gael was walking around with his sister for a while. There was a lot going on around camp, but nothing that he was really interested in. Well, that was until he noticed all the people around in a circle. He blinked a couple times trying to figure out what they were doing and why so many people there. He glanced around them and noticed a couple of people. None that he would say that he was close to, however, he was now curious about what it was they were doing. He nudged his sister before waving at her. She walked off the other direction and he headed over to the group. Standing right behind petal and looked down at her and grabbing a strand of hair pulling lightly. "What's this sprite?" he questioned her curiously. He glanced around and raised an eyebrow.

Sage was sitting next to Loukas who had come back all soaked. The game got so crazy after she went. As it started with Fin kissing Silvio which she did not see coming! Glad she didn't have to kiss anyone....how would Loukas handle that, I mean would she even do it? Henry's dare was something that made sage cover her face, only looking out one of her finger to see liam come into view. WAS HE ONLY IN A TOWEL?????? Wow just wow, this was going insane...then Silvio was going a pole dancing on a tree as he threw his shirt at fin. This was just chaos! It was then when she felt a presence that made her turn to see Gael picking something out of petal's hair. "YOU" she said as she covered her face as the color of her face beet red.

Petal froze momentarily as Gael's voice, familiar and distinctly disturbing, echoed in her ears. It was as though her heart skipped a beat before racing at an unprecedented speed. His words, his very presence, invoked a maelstrom of emotions within her, some that she was still trying to understand. She flinched slightly as he pulled at a strand of her hair. No matter how often he did it, it always managed to catch her by surprise. Turning her head slowly, she looked up at him, meeting his dark gaze. There was a playful glint in his eyes, which only intensified the wild beating of her heart. It was always like this with Gael. He was the antithesis to everything she was – reckless where she was cautious, dark where she was light, mysterious where she was an open book. Yet, there was an undeniable pull, a morbid fascination that she had for his world of shadows.

A soft blush colored her cheeks as she cleared her throat. "It's a game, Gael," she replied, trying her best to keep her voice steady. "Called truth or dare." She turned her attention back to the circle, pointedly ignoring the lingering warmth where he had tugged her hair.

Tempest was late, not that she cared. In her self centered mind events only started when she showed up anyways. Not that she figured anyone in the game was waiting for her, she was a polarizing figure at best. This didn't bother her as there were only a few campers here that she even bothered to care about. And from the looks of it most of them weren't here anyways. She gave Miro a nasty look as she sat down, choosing to sit as far away from the Aphrodite camper as possible. She'd heard about his recent drama, those kids always believing in true love....gross. Just another reason she disliked his cabin. Nothing but air heads in her opinion. She did notice the effect Gael's recent appearance had on the two girls; Petal and Sage. Hmmmm, perhaps there was something there she could stir up later. Causing trouble here would certainly make for an interesting evening.

The Demeter child loved the energy Finley was giving him. It was encouraging and thrilling all the same. The night gave him a kind of high he did not know existed, a satisfactory distraction for sure.

Silvio chuckled imagining the other boy as a fish, it seemed really silly. He wondered what kind of fish Miro took the form of. He burst out laughing now trying to imagine Miro butt naked walking the streets of New York. He was really mused by the story and was definitely enjoying himself, perhaps socializing with others was not as bad as he thought. Or perhaps it was the adrenaline rush still pumping in his blood. Silvio let out another laugh now trying to imagine Miro in a barbie dress. "Yes I am very satisfied," he replied grinning while unwittingly biting his lower lip, though he immediately stopped that once he noticed he was doing it.

'What the hell was that?' he thought.

He looked again at Miro, admiring the boy's features as he asked Alyssa for truth or dare. He then sneaked a glance over at Finley, admiring his features this time, and thought about the kiss they shared earlier.

A thought came to mind, he wanted to try out something after all of this was over.

As Silvio brought out the brownies, Alyssa snagged one. "Thanks." She said with a grin. Henry determined that the next person would take their turn. Seemed like a reasonably decision to her. Watching the group to see who would be brave enough to volunteer, she almost raised her hand herself when Sage volunteered.

As she chose truth, Alyssa smirked at the question. She could think of a fair few of the boys she could have responded with. A few of them might have been around this very campfire. Of course a kiss was very different than dating. Her list would probably shrink if she had to confess who she would willingly date. As Sage answered, Alyssa nodded in acceptance. That was a respectable answer. Gael was cute enough to look at. She could see why Sage would choose him.

The game continued with Sage asking Shi Jin about the darkest thing he had used his luck magic on. Alyssa had to admit, that question got her attention. Children of Hebe had very little in the way of active abilities. Many of theirs were passive. Sometimes she envied the campers whose abilities were more obvious. She wondered what she would do if she had a more active set of powers from her mother. Surprising absolutely nobody, Shi Jin's answer was almost boringly tame. Grades? Yawn. She thought to herself.

Before long Loukas rejoined the group. So far, she had to admit that he seemed to be the most impressive of the bunch so far. Though the game had just started, she was sure there would be plenty more excitement to come. However her attention instantly shifted as Shi Jin made his choice. Finley.

Alyssa wouldn't admit it out loud, but their last encounter had intrigued her. She was somewhere between friendly and crushing on him, and hadn't really made up her mind where it would go. His choice came as no surprise to her. Of course he picked dare. She silently chuckled to herself. As Shi Jin dared him to kiss one of the boys, her eyebrow quirked as she realized it didn't bother him at all. Either he's very secure, or he's bi. Alyssa came to the conclusion. Either way, this will be a good show. She watched as he walked over to Silvio and planted one right on his lips. As the kiss grew more sensual, Alyssa smiled to herself. Definitely bi.

Poor Silvio seemed dazed after Finley's kiss. Who wouldn't be after that? Alyssa knew that she would have been after a display like that. She wasn't sure if that display had made her move more towards friend zone or crush as far as the child of Iris was concerned, but it definitely had gotten her attention. And the way he casually moved the game along after was fairly smooth.

Henry chose dare as well, and Alyssa almost choked on the brownie she was eating as Finley spoke his dare to her. Well this game suddenly turned around. The way she followed through, however, was the real gold though. Completely worth the drachma that had been spent. Alyssa was certain that her threats fell on deaf ears, however. No one at that campfire was likely to forget anytime soon.

The game continued with the next camper, and Petal chose truth. Her answer was fairly sad, and Alyssa had to admit she felt bad for the girl. Causing the death of a dog at only seven years old when you didn't know any better, that had to have been rough. Say what you wanted about the teenagers at Camp Half-Blood, but she couldn't think of any of them that wouldn't have sympathy for Petal after that story. Nobody enjoyed hearing when animals died.

It almost felt wrong to continue the game after that confession, but continue it did. Soon enough Silvio could be seen pole dancing against a tree. That brought the mood right back where it needed to be, and the game was saved. Next up was Miro and they got two confessions for the price of one. Alyssa let out a soft chuckle. One that she regretted because she was fairly certain it is what got her noticed. Before she knew it, it was her turn.

With a shrug, Alyssa answered. "Well I'm sure as hell not going to bare my soul to this cutthroat crowd." She gave a light-hearted laugh before answering. "Hit me with a Dare." She said as she gave Miro a look, challenging him.

As soon as she gave her answer, Gael and Tempest showed up. The game was really growing fairly crowded. Alyssa began to wonder just how much she might start to regret her decision.

Miro expected Alyssa to choose Dare after that mocking smile he had given her, the girl seemed ready and Miro found himself thinking of something funny and original. Well, not really original but he certainly didn't want to make a bad impression in front of others, he was still only 16 years old and had a pride to maintain. He put out the finished cigarette trying not to burn his fingers and pointed to the girl: "I dare you to embarrass yourself with the first external person who arrives, obviously without anyone telling this person what we are doing... but not in the drunk-ish style like Henry before, be lucid." and he found himself giggling, hoping this would lead to further embarrassment after he himself confessed to walking around New York naked.

He then begged Henry for another cigarette since he was quite enjoying himself and then, not seeing Athena's daughter's response, he set about looking around a bit, hoping that the victim, whoever it is, would arrive soon.

Alyssa quirked her eyebrow. "You're going to have to be a lot more specific than that. Because otherwise I could pretend something embarrasses me, when really it doesn't, and you'd never know." She said with a wink. Mostly it was because she figured that he was thinking about something like flashing someone or whatever. But that wouldn't embarrass her. Hell, most of the stunts that people had been asked to do tonight wouldn't embarrass her. Not really. To Alyssa, the only things that were actually embarrassing were things where she cared what people thought after. She was bold and confident. She didn't get embarrassed by stunts. "So... give me an example of what you're looking for."

He looked at her and he could feel her confidence, he had just understood it: she was someone who didn't get embarrassed by little things like him, maybe she even enjoyed them, but that was another story. “Okay then…I'll be more specific…” and he took a minute to think, what was really awkward about it? Well maybe he could....but in that moment he felt it, in the back of his mind, the feeling that he shared with his brothers and that everyone in this circle seemed to feel, albeit to very different degrees. Miro sensed, that Alyssa was in love with her, what she liked could also be here, in this circle, who knows? Might as well try, it was a game. Too bad not knowing who he or she was, but it was a challenge right? So he was counting on Alyssa to do it with the right person, and if she also used the wrong one on purpose, there would still be some messes. And Miro had come to enjoy the mess he knew this game could bring. "Alyssa…confess to your crush, either with an Iris message or directly…the way I don't care…just declare the love you have, because I know you have one."

Henry smirked upon Gael's entrance into the game. Things were only getting more interesting. She glanced at Sage, to see her flushing bright red. To her surprise, the same could be said for sweet Petal Price. Henry couldn't place why, but that troubled her; Gael was the son of Phobos, god of fear and panic. Even dyslexic Henry knew what that spelled: trouble, with a capital 'T'. She would never let her sister or her friend get hurt.

Lighting up another cigarette for Miro, Henry distracted herself from her anxiety by engrossing herself in the most recent dare: bold Alyssa had to embarrass herself in front of the group by confessing her love to somebody. Henry passed the cigarette to Miro and said "You owe me for these, pretty boy. I had to flash a Hermes boy to smuggle them in for me."

Damn. Alyssa bit her lip pensively. She wasn't even certain herself about whether or not she had a crush on the guy, and now Miro wanted her to spill her guts before she had a chance to figure anything out? Think, Aly, think. She chided herself. She took stock of all the boys sitting around the campfire. She definitely wasn't going to tell Finley anything before she had a chance to figure out what it was. But everyone knew that children of Aphrodite could feel the smallest spark of interest. So she had to do some quick thinking. I'm sure as hell not wasting a drachma on this.

If she said any of them it would likely satisfy everyone around the fire. They couldn't possibly know something that she didn't really know herself. It had to be someone good though. Someone that wouldn't pursue anything. Shi Jin was older than her, and likely the age gap would prevent him from pursuing anything. But she didn't know him well enough to feel certain that he wouldn't confront her about it later. The last thing she needed was to explain that she'd lied and have his goody-two-shoes spoil her secret. Loukas was taken, but definitely didn't want Sage and Henry giving her the side eye all night because she picked him. Silvio had plenty of embarrassment and lust for the night, she didn't feel like he needed more added onto it.

That only left Gael or Miro himself. Neither of them felt like a particularly safe bet not to pursue anything. But she had to pick one of them. With a deep breath she set her eyes on Gael and said. "Sure, why not... I think you're cute." Even though it wasn't a real crush, the idea of confessing something like that in front of a group was still pretty embarrassing. Her cheeks turned pink of their own volition. Something she prayed the others would take as a sign of sincerity from her so that they'd drop it and leave it at that. At least Gael would probably understand and not rat her out if she explained herself. She hoped.

"Anyway... uh... Tempest. Truth or Dare?" She said, by means of quickly turning the other campers's attention away from her. When she was sure that people had turned to look at Tempest, she let her gaze flit over to Finley briefly. Trying to figure out if her faux confession had impacted his mood at all. Not likely. She reminded herself. You play hard to get, and most boys aren't into that... Alyssa wasn't really sure what she wanted to see. If he wasn't bothered then he didn't have any feelings for her. But if he did, and she hurt him, that wasn't much better. She really hadn't thought this plan through...

Tempest gave Miro a side eye look of distain when the boy picked his dare. Of course it would be about revealing a crush, typical Aphrodite campers, true love and crushes? Vomit. Like Alyssa even had a chance with Gael, that boy seemed more interested in tormenting the flower girl. Hmmmm, maybe there was an opportunity for her to fan those flames, get Alyssa to think Gael had returned feelings.....plant a fake love note maybe? It was something to think about.

Tempest was pulled out of her thoughts though when Alyssa picked her to go next. Like hell she was going to reveal anything personal or intimate about her life to this group. "Dare." She said matter of factly without any hesitation.

He was steady pulling at the colorful hair of the sprite in front of him when all of a sudden, the Athena child called out to him with her face covered. He blinked over at her for a moment and pointed at himself? "Me?" he questioned. "What did I do?" He asked now more confused than ever. He hadn't done anything to the girl at all. Honestly, he only knew her because she was that strange girl that always liked to keep logs of people. He was more than sure that she had one of him as well. He would never find out for sure, but he was more than sure it was there, hidden. He gave her once last glance before glancing down into the blue eyes the sprite in front of him. Her answer made his head tilt a little. He had heard of the game but had never played it before. He was curious to see what all would happen in mist of everything. He had watched the game being played once before with a bunch of the girls from the home he lived in for that short time.

He absent mindedly played with Petal's hair as his eyes glanced around the group of people. He had caught two people talking. One being the child of Aphrodite and the next one being well... he didn't know who she was. He had only heard her name called by the boy. Alyssa. He blinked looking over at her as he watched and waited for her answer. He honestly didn't care about who she liked. He did, however, get his answer when she looked dead at him and told him that she thought that he was cute. His mouth dropped open for a moment before closing it and then raised an eyebrow. He watched her cheeks turn pink and he blinked a couple times. They had never spoken at all, he was a little confused as to what she was doing, until it clicked with him. She had in a way used him as a get out of free card. A smirk slowly played on his lip as he chuckled softly.

Nova was running back to her cabin after the 'fun' time she had in the shower with a certain someone. She was making sure that no one caught her being with that certain someone because she knew there were a couple of people that liked him and only, she had gotten the right to do anything with him. They both were in the wrong for it, but it was the friend with benefits things. She grinned a little at herself but then noticed a group of people huddled around. Which got her a little curious about what was going on. So, with that she walked over there, with a little jump in her step. She was a pretty happy person at the moment. She glanced around and noticed that Alyssa had asked truth or dare to someone. Her eyes lit up as she knew the game all too well. She giggled a little and walked over to where her brother was. Excited to see him there. Then she noticed her other friend Finn. She nudged him a little and sat next to him. "Hey, you." she greeted him. She remembered their last encounter and smiled. He had been showing her how to surf. Which had been pretty interesting. She turned to her brother Miro and smiled. "What have I missed?" She asked tucking in some wet hair behind her ears.

Miro watched the scene carefully, observing the faces of Alyssa and Gael, it was funny to see the boy blush at the confession, he had no way of knowing if it was the right crush, Alyssa was smart, but at least it created some embarrassment and he himself enjoyed watching them, that was his main purpose.  “Okay, I'm satisfied” she said with a smile and threw up her hands in universal surrender to Alyssa, she didn't seem mad at him, fine.  He then turned to Henry who gave him another cigarette, already lit, before answering he brought it to his mouth and exhaled, happy to calm down a bit with it, he also smiled at Henry and thanked her "Yes, yes... okay tomorrow I'll bring you something, or a new package if I can get it somewhere, thank you.", he burned his finger slightly as he smoked, but nothing serious, in the action he noticed the gloomy look that a girl was giving herself , Tempest seemed to him his name, that he was the next victim of the game.  Well victim, not really of her, she seemed to like to create chaos and probably she had come just for this, she chose to ignore her rationally, not giving her any kind of satisfaction... people who don't believe in true love.  She was still thinking when she saw her sister Novalie, probably fresh out of the shower, sit next to her, his eyes lit up when she saw her coming and he greeted her warmly, he felt calmer with her sister than her next to he.  He chuckled a little when she asked what she'd been missing "oh, sis, the world...", he leaned into her ear and started giving her the recap of the evening.

Caught in the feelings Gael's presence was stirring within her, Petal felt a tinge of unease as he absentmindedly played with her hair. She was aware of the intensity in his gaze as it surveyed the group, an intensity that was somehow both captivating and terrifying. The gentle tugs on her hair pulled her into the vortex of his world, a place of shadows and intrigue that she was terrified to explore, but also irresistibly drawn towards. The startling declaration from Alyssa pulled her from her inner turmoil, and Petal could feel a sharp pang of something she couldn't quite place. Was it jealousy? Irritation?

She found herself stealing a glance at Gael's reaction, noting the surprised expression that quickly morphed into a smirk. She didn't like it, that twinge of possessiveness over someone who wasn't hers. And yet, the emotion was there, clawing at her insides, threatening to spill over. Petal quickly averted her gaze, forcing a smile onto her lips, "Isn't this game full of surprises!" She chirped, desperate to keep the facade of her sunny disposition intact. She could feel the unfamiliar weight of envy pressing down on her, contrasting sharply with her usual light-hearted demeanor.

Smiling over at Tempest Alyssa pressed her finger to her lip as she thought. And then, it came to her, "I dare you to give a lap dance the person you like the most here. Minute and a half, minimum." Alyssa tried to keep it reasonable. The last thing she needed was a child of the goddess of revenge as an enemy. You didn't survive as a child of Hebe by your martial prowess, you survived by being clever and cunning. By at least letting her pick a favorable target, she hoped to draw the least amount of ire from the girl.

Alyssa tried not to look at Gael and ignored his question. If he wanted to talk to her after the game, sure she'd tell him everything. But for now, she could just pretend to be wholly embarrassed at her confession. Rather than speaking anything out loud and making it worse.

Tempest's face didn't reveal any inner emotion as she listened to Alyssa's dare. She kinda figured the girl wouldn't be bold enough to go all out in her dare but that was probable the smart move. "The person I like the most here....." she repeated as she eyed the group, taking into account who was actually here. "Honestly I don't care for most of you and barely know the rest so I'm not sure who I would label as 'like the most'..." Certainly not Miro or Novalie though it was a tempting thought to tease them with something they could never have. It would be cute to see the stoic Henry blush bright red if she chose her. Tempest was just about to pick the Athena girl when she saw Finley and got an idea. It seemed like Silvio had been really smitten by his kiss with Finley, and the chance to dance for him. While she could care less about winning Finley's heart, she could certainly put on a good show and make Silvio think there was severe competition. Very well, she'd give Finley a lap dance he'd never forget! The idea of using him as a pawn in this little game intrigued her more than the dare itself.

Rising from her seat with grace, Tempest gave Finley a sultry look, a promise of the enticing dance to follow. "If I must," she purred, the challenge in her voice causing a delicious shiver of anticipation to race through the crowd. Striding confidently over to Finley, she let her fingers skim the air around him, a tease of the intimate touch to follow, her body language already beginning the dance. Turning her back to him, she stood between his parted legs, her rounded hips swaying to an internal rhythm only she could hear. Tempest began to dance, the movement of her body an explicit language that sparked desire and curiosity. Her hips undulated, drawing invisible circles in the air, and she slowly moved her arms upwards, arching her back to accentuate her form before letting her arms snake downwards in an alluring cascade.

She turned to face Finley, her eyes smoldering as she let her hands gently rest on his shoulders. Using his body as a brace, she slowly lowered herself onto his lap, her thighs brushing against his in a tantalizingly intimate touch. Her hips moved provocatively, a hypnotic rhythm that seemed to pull Finley in. Tempest leaned in closer, her chest inches from his, every pulse and tremor of her body evident in this dangerous proximity. Her fingers traced a fiery path down his arms, her touch a soft contrast to the wild dance of her body. With every beat, she moved closer, letting him feel the heat radiating from her, the suggestive closeness pushing the boundaries of the dare. She used her arms to support her as she rolled her body, letting Finley feel the full length of her.

Just as the intensity of the moment hit its peak, she pulled away. The abruptness of her departure left a lingering sense of unfinished business, an afterimage of the sensual display she had put on. "If you ever get bored of Silvio and need to distract yourself with a real lover then you know where to find me" she whispered not so softly. Tempest then sauntered back to her spot, leaving a wake of stunned silence behind her, a provocative grin on her face as she settled back into her seat, the unspoken challenge clear in her eyes as she looked at her next victim. "Celestite....truth or dare?"

Mila was definitely being blueish today coming towards the woods for the truth or dare party she heard about at camp. She liked a lot of fun but today she was in the midst of feeling a little down , or maybe it was boredom. So she came to check out the event , at the same time meeting new people maybe? She hoped it wasn’t as crazy as she thought, people kissing and hugging , or maybe some wild dare she had heard of before. She approached the little group hoping she hasn’t interrupted anything much yet. She made a smile at the Athena girl , Henry, who started this party and sat beside her, looking around spotting her sister , Tempest, and then the Aphrodite boy, Miro, who she met not long behind, and looking at the unfamiliar faces, she hoped she could get to know  most of them today.

Celeste was having such a good time really!!! I mean anything that had to with Chaos was more her speed as it allowed for her to sit back and enjoy the ride. Even Tempest was being tested a bit by Alyssa. This made her chuckle a bit before she was picked next. "Dare of course...no other choice" she rolled her eyes as all of these younger campers were just doing childs play and she hoped Tempest would dare her to do something even more bad!!! With her sister Lilythe not there at the moment...she might could get away with more things! Smirking she waited to see what Tempest was going to tell her to do!

Tempest's lips curled into a sly smirk, as she studied Celeste. She leaned forward, resting her chin on her hand, and contemplated for a moment. She wanted a dare that would not only challenge Celeste's skills but also put a dent in her pride. "Alright, Celeste," she began in a teasing tone, "You pride yourself on your impeccable lock-picking skills, don't you? And you've always flaunted your affluent background. So here's your dare: I want you to pick the lock of Chiron's private quarters. But here's the catch. Instead of stealing, once inside, I dare you to leave behind one of your most expensive possessions as a 'gift' with a note confessing an innocent crush on him." Tempest's laughter filled the air, the idea of Celeste leaving behind something valuable and adding the element of a fake crush just made the entire situation deliciously complicated.

Henry let out a bark of laughter; she should be used to Tempest's antics by now, since they'd been close since she first arrived at camp. Like her namesake though, the girl was unpredictable and quick-witted. Henry admired her deeply for that, though she'd never admit it. "I knew that personal invite wasn't wasted on you, Tem!" she said with a knowing, slightly wicked, smile. Tempest was the first person Henry told about the game she was hosting: however many enemies she had, that notorious troublemaker was an absolute must-have on any guest list. Henry felt lucky to be so thoroughly on Tempest's good side.

Curiously, Henry's bleach-blonde head bobbed slightly to look past Tempest towards Celeste. What would she do? Not only was the dare humiliating, it could get her in serious trouble. Hermes kids were sneaky, yeah, but not invisible. "Say you want to braid his tail under the moonlight," grinned Henry.

Part of her wanted a challenge as she was not like some of these whimpy campers that seemed to be coming to camp now. Being older plus the fact that she was always getting so bored, she wanted something exciting to do. Which was how she found herself in so much trouble all the time. Honestly she hoped to be on Lilythe's bad list as that meant she was living her life!!! "OOOHHHHHHHH this will be so much fun" her eyes were gleaming mischief. Celeste had broken into several high level buildings with her lock picking skills so this would take it to the next level! Something like this only fueled her seeking a thrill!!!!! Her eyes turned to Henry but the smirk only grew more "Oh that is childs play but don't worry I will write something worth of this game." But then she remember the game was still going on "Tempest while I am gone on my adventure, I say you should ask Mila, Truth of Dare." Getting up she winked at Shi Jin before heading off towards her cabin to get the item she would need to leave!

Alyssa's eyes went wide when she saw Tempest stride over to Finley after getting her dare. Part of her was curious what the story there was--why would Tempest hate Finley?--and the other part felt a bit disheartened that he seemed to be getting so much sexual attention tonight. He clearly had his options open, and if she decided to let herself admit she might have a crush on him she wasn't sure what chances she would actually have.

Turning her attention away from the scene she saw Mila join the group. The game was definitely drawing a crowd, she could tell. Before long the dance was over and it was Celeste's turn. Naturally the child of Hermes had picked dare. Alyssa would have been surprised if she had chosen anything else.

The dare that she was given, however, was beyond crazy! Alyssa was suddenly very glad that she hadn't received her dare from Tempest. She wasn't sure she would have been able to complete that one. Celeste however, seemed all too eager. She even suggested the next person to be dragged into the game. Sitting back, she watched again. Content to observe once more.
