MK was one who loved a game or a good competition....well she was more competitive than she needed to be. But this was who she was so when she challenged the younger sister of Zoren. It seemed the girl did not want a fight. "Come onnnnnn give it a go" the smirk on her face was obvious. She wanted a bit of fun today so she was hoping the girl would fight her. Holding out one of her hands she made the bring it on hand sign.

Katie gave a thought at getting into a hand fight. Since help wasn’t coming any sooner she decided to give it a go.  Alright then.   She hoped all her training could really help her in this combat. Besides she was Athena’s daughter so she had the courage to do so. She held her wooden stick/sword at the Nike child, feeling the adrenaline in her already.

Kenna was a bit nervous as she was new to this game! Being on the red team meant she was with her siblings as they all used the different skills they had with some of the machines they had built. There were a few mechanical spiders in her pocket she had ready to use. They were ones she had worked on just the other day with a ton of gadgets in it. So as she was hiding from the side she watched as the daughter of Nike was challenging the Athena girl. She had been claimed with her the night she arrived. With a smirk she reached in her pocket to pull out the spider machines. As they opened and came active in her hand. She put it down and whispered to go to Katie. 

It was well known that Children of Athena hated spiders because of their mother. Smirking she saw the spider go crawling towards Katie.

Katie had to stay strong no matter what. More of the red team came, maybe it wasn’t a good idea coming shorthanded. She hadn’t had any tactical plan yet other than spying on them and facing them directly. Gods had plans too don’t they? She was surprised when something small came crawling toward her as if they were intended to attack her only. Ackk, spiders! One of her mother’s misfortunes. Someone really prepared well. But she wasn’t ready to back down just yet. She quickly gather some salt she prepared that would come in handy if there were any leaches in the forest. Athenas were good in battles but insects weren’t their favourites. She backed away a bit and threw the salt onto the spiders as a form of defense, hoping wholeheartedly someone would come for rescue.

Kenna watched as her machine did its job going towards the girl which she totally freaked. "YESSSSS" she said making a success pump with her fist in the air. Watching what was going to happen next was one she did not see coming. The girl brought what???? It was something that she was throwing at the machine that she thought maybe it was a kind of chemical. The spider machine backed away a bit as it tried to move quickly around the other way. Reaching in her pocket she pulled out a remote for the spider. Pushing a button it began to release ropes which was shot at Katie's knees.

Now that the spiders were after Katie she began to back away more from the flag. Well she could say she was being hunted at the moment. Badly. Since no one was at her rescue yet, she began moving towards the other side of the flag away from the demigod who has spiders. Suddenly there was a rope reaching out to her knees, which she quickly dodge but the spider caught on. Nono…. She started placing the salt on her own legs instead. Now that she was free of spiders, and getting herself stable and spider-stress free, she made her attempt to reach the flag again.

MK was about to get her battle on when she noticed the spider thing making its way towards the Athena camper. "Ohh this will be good" she laughed as she held her sword up ready for a fight. The girl had some sort of thing she threw at it as the spider went after her more and more. Trying not to think it's too funny as it was her boyfriends little sister. That was when she saw the girl going for the flag. "Ohh noooo come at me" she said jumping in between with the sword slashing at Katie. This would be a fight before she would let her get the flag.

Stefan sped past the trees after having to deal with red team's defense with his half-siblings. After inquiring Kenna's whereabouts, he knew he had to back her up so they can defend the flag together. A triumphant yell can be heard from afar and he could tell it came from his younger half-sibling. Soon arriving at the flag site, it seemed like both McKayla and Kenna were defending and Katie was making repeated attempts to grab it but nevertheless stood her ground in spite of an uneven match. His presence here was about to make it even more uneven but they could use all the help they could get in case her team's reinforcements arrive.

Kenna was trying to figure out what in the world the girl was throwing at her spider. This machine was her baby so she didn't want it to get hurt in any way. The ropes did not work as well as she hoped. But MK stepped in, to take Katie on which she was happy about because she was stuck at the moment. Feeling frustrated with her spider she ran over to it to grab it. "What is wrong with you?" she said trying to let her abilities help her. Looking up she saw Stefan. Oh thank goodness her brother was here. He would  know what to do. Running to him she held out her spider "She threw something on it and it isn't working.....help me?"

At first, he thought the two of them had it under control but upon closer inspection the mechanical spiders were not doing good as he had expected. He was not there to know what could cause the spiders to get deterred from approaching the Athena girl but all he could take away is what could make actual spiders act that way. Stefan shot her a grimaced look. "When you build mechanical animals, treat them as if they are real animals. They behave like their original counterparts. Spiders for example... salt is harmful to them but at least they don't die immediately. So if that girl threw salt then it's unfortunate she's their opponent. Not to mention she's Athena's kid. That girl's smarter than she looks. Withdraw your spiders for now. I may have something that will work."

Stefan blew a whistle with his fingers but nothing happened for a few moments until he heard the sounds of quadrupedal steps approaching. It feels like it came from a hellhound because of the sound it produces but it was revealed to be a mechanical African Wild Dog. Giving it strict orders to protect the flag, the robotic canine stood before the flag as it gazed upon the teenager.

Katie had successfully got rid of the spiders with her salt bag. Yeah this was the best trick to treat spiders or any other creature actually. It was mainly from a book she read recently. She hoped there was backup coming and looked around frustrated so she wasn’t aware of what the red team was planning next. Before she knew there was a fierce looking dog staring at her when she tried to reach for the flag. Aw. She had weakness for pets so she couldn’t really harm them even if they seemed unfriendly. Apparently all the methods the red team used were mainly attacking creatures, unlike the blue team who were more of defenders with spells and magic they could use. So she stood deadly there trying to see how she could get past the dog. Maybe she could try patting it? 

[Azrael Blackburn Rare Rare]

Azrael stood in the middle of the wood, seeing the resourceful Athena camper standing still in the clearing as the mechanical construct moved closer. Looking at this creation it was sleek and designed for warfare, it seemed this Hephaestus camper designed for efficiency and combat rather than utility like the younger campers spider seemed to be. At least it wasn't as big as bronze dragon their cabin had made before, but sometimes deadly things can come in smaller packages..

From his vantage point next to the visible flag he quickly checked he had the supply of ambrosia cubes just encase it went badly. He looked out at the unfolding situation, like an oncoming car crash, he couldn't look away. That one is a combat threat, not a puzzle. you can get it...

Kenna was sad about her machine but then happy to see Stefan who she knew had so much knowledge with machines. He would know how to fix it right? But when she saw his grimace she knew it wasn't good. Her face then looked worried with wide eyes as she listened to him. "Okay" she said sadly as she put her spider back in her bag. They would work on it later ang then it would be ready for use once again. When she finished she looked up to see the mechanical dog that Stefan had called. "Woah so cool big brother" a smile on her face. Looking towards Katie she knew this was a strong opponent! Reaching to her side it seemed she might have to take a more hands on approach. Pulling out a sword she had gotten from one of the others in her cabin. At first it looked small until it expanded to a full sword for her height.

Unlike her previous encounters, it looked like the Red team had plenty of defenders this time. While she engaged with Azreal, Katie had made her move. Damn. Almost worked too. She was thrilled to have some backup for this fight. Unfortunately, a majority of the backup seemed to belong to the other side. And with all the chaotic goings-on raging about, it was all she could do to keep the one person distracted. This... this is the real power of demigods?  Emberlynn wondered, hoped even, that she would develop some cool abilities of her own. She had talents, sure, but nothing along the lines of what was being displayed here.

It was then that she noticed that she was not the only one staring. Azreal, too, had been caught up in the chaos. He seemed to be rooting for his teammates - particularly the young girl. Ember was struck by a small pang of jealousy - like when her favorite teachers back in school would show preference to another student. Still, it did provide an excellent opportunity. She grabbed at the flag, her fingers nearly curled all the way around it. But though it might risk losing her the strike, she couldn't help but get in one last jab. "Best keep your eyes over here, Sir Azreal. What did I just say about underestimating me?"

Emberlynn was able to grab the flag and make a break for the Blue Team's base. It was a long and arduous journey, with several red team members hot on her heels. But eventually she was able to take it back to the Blue Team's base, claiming 1 point for her team. 

Blue has successfully captured the Red Team's flag, Red Team your flag will be placed in a new location (check your PMs). 

[Azrael Blackburn Rare Rare]

Azrael grinned at the retreating Rainbow colors and that Katie had managed to find a way to dodge back with her without losing a limb. He had begun to realize this was as much a game of looking out for these kinds, on both sides, as it was the simple wargame of old. This was also a chance that he had not had waiting around the camp to actually talk to, plan alongside, and get some insight into these kids lives beyond the standard cookie cutter camper views. He wasn't the teacher type like James or just knew how to get a smile out of anyone like Lilythe but maybe he could find a way to help out the camp like they did. I guess time will tell.

He went to retrieve the flag, ready to trek out once more to setup a base camp and see what challenges he could give them this time around.
