FOOD FIGHTTTTTT!!!!!!!

Derrick Raines

Recommended Posts

Derrick had been stewing on the whole Forest thing since he woke up. Which Azrael had told him not to do. Their mother would be one proud of the young boy's feelings of revenge but he had no way to act them out. There had been rumors that maybe they were trying to track the monster who killed forest but he had no proof. Sitting at the table where his cabin sat for meal times. He was angry and not in the best moods. So Derrick was playing with his food as he was grumpy and such. Why did the others hold back information from him when he could try to do something about it????? Stabbing the food he then began to play with the full silverware as he pulled it back but then got even more angry and flung. it. The food shot across the room and landed on @ Julia Dutkiewicz  who was sitting at her own table. Derrick's eyes got real big as he waited to see how the girl would react!

Julia had just sat down with her food; she was picking at some of it. She was a very picky eater, which made it hard for her being at camp. Of course, she could have things at her own cabin, but she really didn't know how to make much, nor was she old enough to go out and buy anything for herself. So, camp food it was, she grabbed her fork and picked up a piece of meat, examining it and then hesitantly popping it into her mouth. Grimacing a little, she chewed it up and swallowed it. As she sat there, debating whether she should try to eat more, or just go back to her cabin and snack on the snacks that was stocked in the house, she was struck in the back of the head with something. "What the...." she reached up to feel what hit her head "EEEEWWW" she exclaimed when she felt something mushy in her hair. That's when she realized that it was food, but where did it come from, she began to look around the room, when her eyes locked with a boy sitting a couple tables back directly behind her, his eyes were wide, with maybe shock, or worry, she didn't know for sure, but she did know that made him suspicious.

She took her napkin and pulled the food out of her hair, then she pushed up from her table, grabbing her tray she turned toward the boy. She didn't know what she was going to do, but she didn't want to do anything until she knew for sure it was him, even though she really didn't doubt that it wasn't him. When she reached his table, she set her tray down and then leaned onto the table with her hands placed on either side of her tray, with a smirk on her face "Did you fling that food at him?" she says to him in a low hiss.

Derrick didn't mean to do it, he was just messing with his fork as he stewed about things happening in the camp. That was when he flung the food when it landed in some girls hair. Almost immediately she felt it as she began to look around. Derrick tried to duck under the table but it was too late. He could see that that their eyes met. The guilty look on his face was one that he could not help but have as he was one of the youngest at camp. Even if this was only a few years older than, he was tiny and his older brother was here to get him out of trouble. But then it got even worse, as the girl got the food out of her hair she got up and marched over to him. Ohhhhh he was in it now!!!! Derrick was too shocked to move as he felt paralyzed in his seat as she came over to him.  "Ummmmmmm I ....I didn't mean too" his face showed how scared he was.  He opened his mouth again but nothing came out as he feared what would happen next.

Julia laughed when the boy stuttered out his response. She contemplated her next move, seeing the expression on his face made her feel a little bad for him, but even if he didn't mean it, he shouldn't have been playing with his food. Of course, she wasn't doing much better pushing it around her tray, not really wanting to eat much it. That's when the idea hit her, the perfect punishment and it meant she wouldn't have to eat this food. She slide into the seat in front of him, picked her fork up, forking some of the mush that was mixed around on her plate, gave the boy a smirk and flung the food at the boys face. As soon as she did, she started to laugh "Oops" she says incredulously. Julia set her fork down, satisfied with herself.

Julia wasn't normally one to cause trouble but the boy started it, and she honestly wasn't mad she found it funny. She hoped the boy would find it just as funny.

At this moment he only wished that Azrael was here but as he looked around he was not. Derrick could feel how small he was in that moment as he was one of the youngest here at camp. He felt scared as he was hoping that she wasn't one of those ares kids that would swirl his head in the toilet or even beat him up. But as his eyes watched her moving the food on her tray around as it then was flung at him. The food hit him in the middle of the face as it slide down he tried to wipe it off. That was when something inside of him happened. He would take the biggest revenge possible. Standing up he then reached on his plate as his fist grabbed two large handfuls of the food. Then screaming "FOOOODDDDD FIGHTTTTTT" threw the food at Julia and at another camper.

In that moment the room erupted into campers realizing what was happening when it all become chaos. As food was coming at all sorts of directions as he then ducked down. Getting in a throw or two at a time.

Julia was in shock when the boy picked up two handfuls of food and threw one directly at her face, and another at a different camper, screaming 'food fight!' Before she could process what was about to happen, she was covered in food. Wiping her face away, she started to laugh. She had never been in a food fight before, but this seemed pretty fun, well as long as it didn't get in her face again. She grabbed her plate and ducked under the table for some coverage. Food was flying everywhere, she couldn't believe how easily it was to start a food fight, and not a real fight from someone getting mad over it.

Panic set in a bit, when she thought back to the orphanage and who if something like this would of happened there, we would of all been in big trouble. That was when she started to look around panicked, she didn't want to get in trouble by the god that stays here at the camp. Wanting to calm herself down, she pulled at the pant leg of the boy that started all of this "Hey!" she yelled at him over the chaos, wanting him to get down under the table with him.

Derrick's heart raced as he saw Julia covered in food, laughing and taking cover under the table. The chaos of the food fight continued around them, with campers throwing food from all directions. He couldn't believe what had just happened, how a simple accident had escalated into this mess. But in that moment, he couldn't help but feel a surge of exhilaration, the thrill of standing up for himself. As Julia called out to him, yelling for him , Derrick hesitated for a second, torn between the excitement of the food fight and the fear of the consequences. He glanced around, seeing the mess and the joyful chaos in the room. Taking a deep breath, he made up his mind. With a mischievous grin, he quickly crawled under the table and joined Julia, finding refuge from the flying food. "What?" he asked as he would come up from time to time as he threw more and more food at people.

Smiling when he joined her, of course, he would still throw more food every now and then but at least he got under the table with her. "Why would you start a food fight! I mean, it looks fun!" she admits with a blush. "B-but" she stutters looking around the room, the chaos unfolding, campers yelling in excitement. It really did look fun, but she was more scared of the consequences, she didn't want to get turned into a grape vine or something weird. "What if the God that lives here, gets mad?" she questions the boy. Does he even know much about the god, he was quick young. He looked younger than her, but she didn't know his actual age.

She wasn't expecting her playfulness would backfire on her and cause a food fight, the boy may have initially started the food fight, but she felt like it was her fault, maybe she should have just left the boy alone and none of this would be happening. Julia was so torn between wanting to have fun and not wanting to get in trouble with the god. If this was back at the orphanage she was totally join in, they didn't have powers to do something crazy to her!

Derrick chuckled as he flung a spoonful of mashed potatoes towards a group of campers across the room. The adrenaline rushed through his veins, the laughter and shouts filling the air. She was right to worry about the consequences, but in that moment, he couldn't help but feel alive. "Don't worry about the gods," he replied, his voice laced with excitement. "This is the summer camp of fun and games. They expect us to have a good time, right?" As the food fight raged on, Derrick's worries faded away. He was in the midst of pure chaos, surrounded by laughter and food flying in every direction. The messy atmosphere didn't bother him anymore. All he wanted to do was to have fun. I mean their lives were hard enough right? He had lost his dad and best friend in one go so he didn't want to think about it anymore. He looked at Julia who seemed distressed "Relax......lets just have fun!"

Julia took a deep breath and looked around. Maybe he was right, everyone else was having a good time, it seemed like she was the only worried. "Well, I guess that's true, but isn't there other ways of having fun without causing trouble?" she asked, deep down she wanted to join in. Grabbing a hand full of food, she looked from it to the other campers around and then to Derrick who had the biggest grin on his face. Bring her arm back she let the food in her hand fly across the room, hitting another camper that wasn't paying attention right in the face. She gasped "oh no" covering her mouth, and the giggle slipped out, and she looked to Derrick again "I hit that camper in the face, and I can't but laugh" she said in a questioning voice.

'Relax......lets just have fun!'

I can do this, who cares if we get in trouble! she thought as she screamed with excitement and picked up more food throwing it out at other campers. In her excitement she grabbed a slab of mashed potatoes and threw them at Derrick hitting him in the side of the head laughing uncontrollably at him. "This is fun!"

Derrick couldn't help but grin wider as Julia's laughter filled the air. He wiped the mashed potatoes from his face and responded to her question between bites of food. "Sure, there are other ways, but there's something great about letting go like this, you know?" Derrick said as he grabbed a handful of spaghetti and flung it across the room, narrowly missing a counselor. "It's like all our worries disappear, and we're just kids having a blast at summer camp!" As the food fight raged on, Derrick enjoyed his emotions in the chaos. He ducked behind a table to avoid a volley of flying peas and then popped up with a handful of corn, sending it sailing towards a camper who had been a bit too daring. The camper's surprised yelp was followed by uproarious laughter from the entire room. Derrick couldn't remember the last time he had laughed this hard. He looked at Julia, mashed potatoes still clinging to his hair, and shouted, "You were right, Julia! This is the best way to have fun!"

Julia listened and nodded her head as she agreed with Derrick. He really did have a point; this whole food fight thing was pretty fun, and it definitely made her feel more like a kid. Picking up some mash potatoes she decides to be silly and get the one person not expecting it from her. While he is preoccupied with throwing food at some other kids, Julia takes the hand full of mash potatoes and shoves it into the side of his face. She immediately falls over laughing uncontrollably "I'm...." still laughing "I'm, sorr..." taking a breath trying to calm down, so she could talk. "I'm sorry" she tries to look innocent as if her aim was just very off and it was a total accident. She couldn't hold it though, she just couldn't stop laughing, as she tried to sit back up. "Ok, maybe I'm not fully sorry. But you gotta admit, I got you?!" she exclaims with a smile spreading for ear to ear.

Julia couldn't how this day had turned out, especially when she was slight irked with the boy at first; yet here they were under a table together playing in this food fight together. She actually really liked it; she was letting go and enjoying herself for the first time in a while. Without worrying about the consequences of her actions.
