The Storyteller

After having their flag captured, the Red team was given a new directive, they were to head to Zeus's fist and set their flag upon it. The team trekked into the forest, and managed to set their flag. Hopefully it would be protected well enough to prevent the blue team from finding it once more.

Ember watched from the bushes nearby as the red team set up their new camp. She couldn't believe her good fortune! To be fair, she had reason for that. The fact that she'd happened to come so close to the enemy's flag in her desperate scramble to survive was the first "lucky" thing that had happened to her since this whole thing began. As for the fact that there was nobody stationed to guard it... she wasn't sure if that was lucky or incredibly suspicious. Still, such an opportunity could hardly be passed up. She crept toward the flag as quietly as possible and carefully reached out her hand...

Zeus' fist was a tall and rocky pile of boulders, filled with many gaps and crags that made it a solid place for the flag to be set, easy to see but tough to climb.

Azrael had set the flag himself after its last capture and had kept himself hidden nearby. He had been ready to fend off the magics and speed of the other side, he was less ready to face down this rainbow haired youngster.

His mother Nemesis had a bit of luck to grant him as he spotted her climbing up the boulders. He knew that from up here a fall could hurt having inflicted it in the past. He waited until she made it to a relative flat surface before moving in, the butt of a dagger clanging off the side of her helmet. He took up a combat stance between her and the flag, remembering this was just a training exercise.

"Watch your footing, these rocks get pretty slippery" he said, keeping an eye out for more invaders.

"Ack!" The strike to the side of her helmet sent the clumsy girl sprawling. Thanks, boy. She thought briefly of the teammate who had given her this helmet earlier in the game. He'd inadvertently just saved her life. At least, she could see it that way. Though she doubted it would've come to that. She couldn't imagine that, had she not been wearing a helmet, another human would have made such an attack. She staggered to her feet, scanning her attacker up and down. As she did, she lost any hope of taking him in a fight. This guy was an a full-grown adult. He had blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes, and a face like some kind of Hollywood star. And he was muscular - another trait which put her at a distinct disadvantage.

Emberlynn, on the other hand, was a barely-teenage girl with zero muscles or combat skills. Getting past this guy by force was about a hundred percent impossible. After a quick appraisal of the situation, she decided to try a different tactic. She removed her helmet, feeling along the side of her head to make sure it wasn't bruised. As she did, she gave her best "innocent girl who has no idea what's going on" face. It was especially easy since she actually was, in essence, and innocent girl who had very little idea what to expect in a game like this. "Thank you for the concern. I'll be sure to keep it in mind. I am awfully clumsy after all, as I'm sure you can tell from that display just now..."

Emberlynn was rambling, doing her best to keep the man's attention on her words. As she did, she slowly circled toward her goal - step by step- once innocent gesture at a time. "This game is awful dangerous. They gave us weapons of course, but they can hardly expect a brand new arrival to know how to use one." There it was. Finally. Just within reach. She slowly reached for the flag once more...

Azrael flicked out with the flat of his blade as her fingers reached out. "You might need to do more than a snatch and grab" He kept circling with her.

He had mostly kept a low profile since his return to the camp from New Rome but he knew that Dustin had been leading the sword fighting activities recently. He didn't recognize this camper though. "Lets see how your sword work holds up, I am sure Ares Cabin has taught you well".

He looked at the rainbow hair and guessed Iris as parentage, another cabin that had sprung up along with his after the promises were pulled from the gods. They might not be known for their fighting prowess but he had met so many campers over the years that had exceeded expectations.. "Or if you want to retreat you can see about returning with reinforcements? It is a team game after all"

Damn. He noticed. Ah well, she supposed it was to be expected. A trained warrior surely would never had fallen for such a simple ruse. Still, she kept a relatively friendly demeanor compared to the man's combative one. Reinforcements? She wasn't sure if she trusted that. She knew there were other members of the Blue team out there. There was TJ, and whoever had grabbed the first flag, plus a gaggle of people that had been with her on their way to their own flag.  But Ember had rarely seen them. And considering this guy's physical prowess... she was still unsure how much help they'd be.

Em did not, in fact, draw her sword. This guy obviously knew what he was doing, and drawing a weapon might be the only indication he needed to strike at her again. Of course, swiping for the flag would likely produce the same result. But what else could she do? To have come this far just to run away seemed an awfu waste. No - even if she couldn't fight him, maybe she could keep him distracted while her team found the place. "You're correct sir, these rocks can be awful slippery. And also quite ECHOEY!!!" She called out the last words as loudly as she could, letting them reverberate against the mountainside. Anyone even remotely near the area could have heard her. Good. Sure, she could run away and look for reinforcements. Or she could call them to her. Of course, it could easily draw the attention of more red defenders. Or worse, monsters. But the oblivious girl had a penchant for only looking on the bright side.

"Not getting rid of me that easily, my good man. Ah - who are you?" Grinning, she made a reckless swipe for the flag again...

Azrael looked down the slight colorful child in front of him. "You know I am not the only guard up here and I don't think you want to try a sword fight on a rocky precipice or to investigate the jail part of the game.." he said matter of fact. I don't want to fight a child, worse if she fell, I guess if it comes to it she can be restrained and dropped off in neutral ground.

He just had to take the time to let the rest of the defenders get close enough, even Derrick or Octavia could likely take this one down given her lack of stance or posture with the blade. As she started to make more noise he was glad this would likely bring more of the red team's attention.

"Azrael, Nemesis Cabin. You are definitely a loud and insistent one." He moved up and making an X with his blades caught hers, using her hold to the blade to push her back from the flag. "Derrick, if your hidden nearby, the shackles would be useful about now."

Azrael caught the blade at her side. Well, that's a problem. She had hoped that by not drawing her weapon she could avoid being brought into a fight, but it was good to at least have access to it. Worse, he was using that grip to yank her away from her goal. She jumped back a bit, clumsily yanking the weapon from his makeshift grasp. She noted, however, that he had moved to disarm her. Specifically not to take her out. The guy reminded her of a knight from a fantasy movie. He had the movie-star looks, the flashy sword moves- and, it seemed, some sense of nobility. Between his movements and his warnings about the rocks, Ember concluded that he did not want to hurt her. It struck her as ironic that her inexperience was likely the only reason she'd lasted so far. Had she any talent with the blade or any concept of what she was doing, this man would've downed her in an instant. But morality was keeping him from attacking a defenseless kid. So a wildly unbalanced fight strangely became a stalemate.

"Emberlynn, Iris cabin." She replied in turn. "That's me! Loud and persistent!" The little girl grinned. The next thing he said did not instill confidence though. She had enough trouble keeping one adult at bay. Hell, she'd only managed by playing on the morality of hitting children with swords. But if this "Derrick" did not share Azreal's sense of virtue. Well, she'd be in trouble. "Yeah? And you think me a moron then I'm sure. As if I'd come all the way out here by myself." She bluffed for time, hoping that another Blue Team member had heard her call. "We'll have to see whose "reinforcements" arrive first!" With that she made another unarmed grab, hoping his hesitations might provide her an opening. She didn't have to win. She just had to grab it...

The Storyteller

Emberlynn was able to grab the flag and make a break for the Blue Team's base. It was a long and arduous journey, with Azrael hot on her heels. But eventually she was able to take it back to the Blue Team's base, claiming 1 point for her team.

Blue has successfully captured the Red Team's flag, Red Team your flag will be placed in a new location (check your PMs).

Dahlia was looking through the woods for the blue teams flag, she had to fight a could of hellhounds on her way but she finally killed them.  Out of breathe she turned a corner to see the zeus's fist. The blue flag blowing in the wind. Her eyes gleaming with delight. She looked around to see anyone who was around and then sprinted towards the flag. Would she get it in time? Reaching her hand out she tried to grab the flag.

Katie was cautious this time, learning from the Hecates and with help from them, the blue flag was casted with a levitation spell, so it will deflect and defend itself from anyone in the red team that touches it. This took time but she and the blue team was there defending the flag. When she heard footsteps coming close to the flag she stepped out, spotting a Demeter child from the red team and stood in front of her intending to stop them from stealing it.

Dahlia was part way to the flag when a camper on the blue team got in her way. "Hi" she said giggly as she put her hands up to begin the fun! Dahlia was a child of demeter which meant she could control the plants around her. Felt could feel the trees ready to bend to her way. Moving her right arm towards the girl the tree closest to them began to come towards the athena girl. Maybe this would distract her long enough for Dahlia to get the flag? Rolling she was in arms reach of the flag once again. Would she get it this time?

Katie wasn’t ready to lose to the opponent team yet. She informed the rest of the blue team to be prepared with attackers from the red team. She notice the plants moving itself towards her and the team. She quickly dodged away from them. Luckily the Hecates had casted some spells to deflect any kinds of spells away. So they were still safe. She smiled at them staying calm as usual.

Dahlia watched as the girl dodged but knew she would have her work cut out for her. This was merely a distraction from the next part of her attack. Wondering where the rest of her team was she then began to use some of the vine plants to go for the ankles of the hecate and athena girl. With that happening she began to move to be in reach of the flag once more. Reach for it she was so close to getting the flag which would tie the game.

Katie wasn’t going to give in just yet. She managed to send some signals to the blue team who were at the attacker side probably. One thing she learnt that teamwork was priority so they need to be together defending the flag. She was aware of the vines coming towards their legs but she was just in time to dodge them again. Surely there was a way to overcome these spells casted by the Demeter child.

James was proud of his team as they were all having a good time during this game. It was always one people looked forward to every summer. The newer campers would have having an experience that they never had experienced as this was a fun test! It was a way they could use their abilities to the max against each other in a semi-safe environment. Knowing his little sister was safe with Azrael, he had made a plan with the other red team to take this blue flag by force. As he scouted, he found Dahlia had already found the area with the flag. She had been keeping them busy with her abilities it seemed. So sneaking the other way he wondered if he might have the luck to snag the flag. Seeing that everyone was focused on Dahlia. James began to sneak to grab the flag!

Katie wondered if her mother ever cried or feel hopeless at battle before, but she seemed to be outnumbered at the moment. She hoped with whatever courage her mother gave them she could put it to use right now. Oh mum, what should I do?  She waited for the signal to return. Come on team. Just then she sensed someone coming in near the blue flag area and she turned to the direction, catching sight of the intruder .

James knew he could get around this girl if he needed to, but he was trying to do it with as little issues as possible. Just when he got close enough it seemed he was found out. Looking to Dahlia he nodded hoping this is when they could tag team together to get this in the bag. Hoping she would act fast to get the Hecate and Athena campers tied up. It would give him a chance to grab the flag and run it back to base. Dahlia made a move, starting to teleport from place to place as she did this with her ability. This was when he made his movement to grab the flag.

Katie wondered if her mother could hear her, even if she could have the slightest feels of her being around would greatly help her defending their team’s flag. She was gathering courage anyhow and even if there were few of them she should be able to keep the flag in place. She watched as James whom she recognised contacted his team as they planned on something. She remembered he had guided her around so she couldn’t afford to hurt him . One of the demigods began appearing and disappearing around attempting to catch them. Ah the effort. The Hecates then cast an invisible wall spell to protect them so that they won’t get too close. She remembered having her penknife in her pocket in case if she needed.

Dahlia was kind of having a lot of fun using her abilities that she learned about last summer. There was so much she didn't know she could do until her siblings helped her. So when she saw the nod from James she began to disappear and reappear from the plant to plant. It was sort of a cool trick she could do. This was to make the other team try and deal with her. While jame's made the grab for it, but the hecate kids blocked it. Fine she would just have to walk up and take it as they would have to deal with her bow first. Pulling it off her back she began to shot it. Since it wasn't magic it would go through the hecate kids stuff. Maybe this would make the scatter as she ran for the flag.

After fighting a couple of monster with a few others, he had a bit of time with Willow. She well made him feel a way he hadn't felt in a while. The girl was something else well she was different than he thought she was. So as he hiked to Zeus's fist, he began to make a stand with the flag to protect it from the other Red team. Looking around he did not see anyone around just yet so he would be ready for anyone that came his way!
