Fall 2021

 

The weather is a perfect evening, with the sky as clear of any clouds. The sun is just setting while the Hephaestus cabin sets up the fireworks while the rest of the camp make their way to the shore line. James was helping Cabin 9 getting the set up ready as he wanted things to be perfect for the camp as it was a past time they all loved. It was the night all the couples found themselves cuddling up on the beach as the fireworks would burst over head. After finishing what felt like a fulls day work. James smiled as he noticed some of the campers beginning to make their way towards him. Waving he put his hands together "WELCOME TO THE SUMMER FIREWORKS EVENT" he yellled out for them all to hear!

Wondering what Cabin 9 had done this year. He knew it would be a lot of fun to see the great work they had put into it all. Looking around he was trying to find the best spot for him to sit with Rissa and maybe Octavia!

[Kenna Rhys]

Kenna was told right when she got to the camp that there was one special thing she would have to learn from her brothers and sisters. That would be how to learn to make the fireworks for the evening of the 4th of July which they do every year. These were not your average fireworks but ones that could have anything from a battle scene in it to a flowers. It took time and skill to put them all together before the evening of the big day! At first Kenna was a bit nervous but then over time she found herself really love learning from her half siblings.

The day had come which meant they needed to set up on the beach before the rest of the camp showed up. James was kind enough to help them get stuff together as the day went on. But soon enough it was all done and the campers began to trickle in to find themselves a spot with their cabin or maybe a crush or loved one. Kenna being newer to the camp was just super jazzed about this so she volunteered to help set off fireworks when it became time.

 

[Stefan Köhler]

Every year during the summer, the camp has a tradition where fireworks are set up on the north shore of the beach and it was none other than Cabin Nine to be responsible for making them. With the help of some members from the Iris and Athena cabins, Stefan was able to incorporate their ideas and plan some of the most complex fireworks this camp has ever seen. It was a seamless process as everyone worked together to make it happen. Who wouldn't want to see awesome fireworks? The cabin and the forge was hard at work. Stefan was especially attentive to Kenna's learning as she was just claimed this year but wanted to make sure she doesn't get hurt making them.

And once that day came, he helped set up the fireworks in the beach. Several troughs are anchored to the sand, reinforced with brackets and heavy lumber. To prevent them from tipping during the show, stakes were placed and secured them. Stefan began to connect the fuses by hand and thoroughly prepared anyone who might be near the launch area by having them wear protective glasses, fire retardant clothing, and ear plugs. He even had some of the Hecate Cabin place protective charms so there's no stray firework or anything that could harm the campers. He wanted to make this as safe as possible but nevertheless proved to be not as difficult as making the fireworks shells themselves. When he approached Kenna, he wanted to make sure she was ready as he did not want her to get harmed during the show. "I'm not allowing you to set them off without the gear." 

[Levi Jones Rare]

Levi loved to watch the fireworks, they were an amazing site. It reminded him of the time he spent during fourth of july with his dad and step mom, the fireworks may not have been as amazing as these, but they were still fun to watch. Ever since coming to the came, six years ago he ended up spending fourth of july at the camp instead of with his family. Levi didn't really regret it, but every now and then it bothered him some. This time around, he wasn't sure why they were putting on a firework show, fourth of july had pasted and it was starting to get chilly out. Levi hoped they would have a fire going. 

Only a few people were there when he arrived "Hey What's up?" he questioned in general to whoever wanted to answer. As he walked over to where the fireworks display was at, he smiled "Can't wait, to see what you all got in store tonight!" 

[Octavia Davis Rare]

A laugh came from Octavia as she ran a little faster from the boy the was chasing her around. She and Derrick had started playing tag before the fireworks started working. The kids had no idea that the others were watching them run around, playing around. They were in their own little world at the moment. "You can't get me." She giggled as she took a hard left as her hair swayed around behind her. Today, her sister hadn't gotten the chance to stop her from running around to tie her hair down. So it was a little wild today, not that she cared to much. She turned around and stopped when she heard James clap his head and her attention went to him. He welcomed everyone and she waved at him with a giggle. He was the best big brother ever. 

[Derrick Raines]

Derrick was happy to have a friend like Octavia who would play games with him that made him feel like he was just an average kid. One that played games like tag with their friends and laughed. "Ohhhhhhh I am going to get you" he said laughing almost out of breathe as he chased her around not caring what anyone else had to say about it. He ended up getting close to Octavia a few times but she was fast for her size!!!! Maybe it was that luck she had after all. But soon enough she stopped and he almost ran into her "Woahhhhhh" he laughed "What did you do that for?" He asked her as he then heard James the older brother of Octavia speak to them all. Leaning over to Octavia who was waving to her brother "Want to find a seat together?" 

[Dahlia Wakabayashi]

Dahlia was so excited about the fireworks as it was one of the things she looked forward too every year. Back in Japan they would always have these huge festivals where the fireworks would be shot off. Dahlia would be with her dad most the time when she was little but as she grew. She would go to she summer festivals with her friends in Kyoto. The fireworks exploding in the sky with the backdrop of the city was one she missed dearly. 

Today though was one she was very happy she could experience with her siblings and friends she had made over the summer. As she walked down to the beach with her siblings she was looking around for @ Tristan Damaris to see if he was coming to this as well. A part of her hoped he would as she would like to sit with him as the two had bonded over the summer. 

[Tristan Damaris Rare]

Tristan was not expecting to go to the north shore for the fireworks show. The past two years he had been watching the flashy display from the comfort of his mother's cabin simply because he did not have anyone to go with. And even if he did, he preferred to watch it alone but this summer will be different. When Dahlia asked him to come with her, he gave an answer. It was not immediate but he accepted the invite. He had bonded with her so much within a short period of time that he was growing suspicious of how things are playing out. The thought of Nemesis just striking down the bad luck because all he had experienced is good things from being her friend... remained in the back of his mind but nevertheless, he persisted. Finally arriving to the beach, the sun was beginning to set. He had forgotten how beautiful was the view... when was the last time he was here? It was the first week he arrived at camp.

Two years later, he was grateful it remained the same. He was looking forward to seeing it so suddenly for some reason. The thought of his best friend Dahlia came to mind and the corners of his lips curled into a smile. Taking off his sandals, he walked in the sand barefoot to look for the Demeter child. Not much campers showed up which made his search short. "Dahlia!" He paraded to her. "Thanks for having me. Been a while since I have been here." And a long while. 

[Dahlia Wakabayashi]

The child of Demeter was happy to have someone she could say she was close to!!!! They had bonded the first time they met and she felt such a connection to him. The rest of the summer was one full of happy memories and good times together. But now with fall coming she would have to go home soon so she wanted to get just a bit more time in. A part of her wanted to ask if she could stay longer but then she would miss school.......All of this was going through her mind when she heard her name as she looked in that direction seeing Tristan walking her way. 

"Heyyyyyy" she smiled as she waved to him as he made his way to her. "I am happy to see you" she said beaming at him more and more. As if her excitement was just showing through her like a sunshine. "Well this evening should be fun for sure....um where do you want to sit?" Looking around she was seeing the different groups already having their spots. 

[McKayla Johnson]

McKayla had gotten ready with her siblings for the fall fireworks as soon enough they would be going back to Boston. Her and Zoren's summer would be coming to an end which was sad since it was filled with so much laughter, desire and friendship. As she was walking to the beach in a yellow sundress which went well with her dark skin tone. MK was laughing at her sisters jokes as they were all excited for the evenings events. Who knows maybe there would be another party? As they got to the beach, her eyes began to scan for Zoren when she saw him.....Levi Jones. The look on her face at first was a blush then of annoyance. After their last time being around each other she did not want to see him ever again but that was not possible.

Her sisters kept talking not noticing her as she stopped in front of Levi "Ohhh how sad, you are alone" she said with so much Sarcasm dripping in the statement. Part of her wanted him to feel bad after how he embarrassed her last time! 

[Larissa Souza Rare]

It was one of her favorite times of year. It was the time where cabin 9 shot them off and she was ready to see what they had in store for them. She grinned happily as she watched the younger kids run around as she walked with her siblings to the beach. It was nice to seeing this once again. She was busy showing off her ring to her siblings when she heard a clap and a very familiar voice and her head snapped to the front. She couldn't help but look the man over a couple times as she bid her siblings goodbye. She was awe struck at the moment. She couldn't wait to be in his arms again. After everything they had talked about, they finally were able to get their feelings straight for one another. She walked up to him. Letting her hand slip into his. "Hey handsome." She grinned as she looked at him happily. "Have you found the perfect spot yet?" She questioned him then looked at his little sister and her friend and smiled brightly at them. They were adorable too. "I think Octavia has finally found a playmate." she had to wonder if she and James were have meet when they were younger like that if they would have been the same way. 

[Savanna Lewis]

Anna had wrapped a small blanket around her small little body. She had of course been curious to know what they were going to look like. Okay when she said they she totally meant that fireworks. She followed her siblings out of the cabin and on to the beach when she spotted Kenna there. She smiled brightly to the girl as she rushed over to her. "Kenna." She gushed out as she looked at the girls older siblings. "So tell me...what it is going to be like?" she gushed out a little happier than normal. "Are you helping set it up?" she questioned her with the most curious look that she could muster. She honestly couldn't wait to see what all was going to be happening. This would be her first ever fire work display. So to say that her sleep was put on the back burner for a little bit was that. She didn't need to have sleep for right now. She could totally sleep in later in the morning. As she looked around she noticed the child of Demeter, Dahlia standing there. She waved at her and sent her the biggest smile that she could muster. 

[Delaney Vance]

Laney couldn't help but get a little excited about what was about to happen. She was going to see the fire works tonight. She had to wonder if Luca was going to be there with her. Surely he wouldn't miss this at all. She smiled a little as she walked with her siblings, still missing her sister that didn't make it. They all had talked about it and made sure that she knew that they loved her and thought about her as well. Which made her feel better about losing her. She knew the girl was having a blast where ever she was. She blinked as she got to the beach and noticed that MK was talking to someone she never thought she would have. She blinked and walked over to her, hoping to move her along so that they could find Zoren and Luca in the crowd. "Hey MK. " She said to the girl as she looped her arm through hers. 

[Killian O'Connor]

Killian had a great summer with coming back to camp after being away at New Rome for several years. What he hadn't expected was for him to feel different about people in his life. Life had always been a game for him. One that always ended in with him and a bottle as he drank the night away. But this year was the most sober he had found himself as he was trying to get to know a girl he had known for such a long time but never had an impact on him as she did now. First it started with him watching her sing, there was just something about her that caught his attention but when he got hurt in CTF that was when he knew he had caught feelings for the girl. A first for him ever.

So making his way down to the beach he talked to a few of his younger siblings that were planning a party to end the summer after the fireworks had ended. Seeing James and Risse, Killian waved to them as he walked over to them. "Hey you two, ummmm Rissa is the rest of your cabin coming to the display before they go home?" 

[Levi Jones Rare]

Levi smiled when MK walked up to him, "Hello Beautiful" he says charmingly. His eyes followed her sisters for a moment as they walked away and then back to her. Looking her up and down, he linked his arm with hers "Oh hunny, I'm not alone, I'm with you" smirking while he talked. He could tell she was trying to make him feel bad, but how could he feel bad? Just cause he didn't come with a date, doesn't mean he can't find one while he is here. Levi was about to try to get her to sit with him, when another hot girl walked up and linked her other arm. Levi gave the new girl a once over and smirked, "One lady on each arm, works with me" he smiles at them both. 

MK played hard to get, even that day by the lake, and ever since that day Levi has had his eyes on her. Playing hard to get only made it a challenge for him, which made it fun. Even better to get a two for one deal, you know going after one and the friend joins in he thought to himself.

[Zoren Panganiban Rare]

Zoren was looking forward to sitting next to his girlfriend under the fireworks. He was not exactly a beach person but he would be open to going upon being asked, but for McKayla- he would be more than happy to go if given prep time. Back at the Athena cabin, he was occupied with packing necessities to his beach bag which he had charmed with extra storage space temporarily for the event. Sunblock, blankets, towels, water, a film camera, and much more. He wanted to be prepared to make sure their experiences are pleasant. And with the summer coming to an end, he wanted to leave them a memory before he comes back to school.

Finally arriving at the north shore, he was sporting a short sleeved linen shirt and white denim pants. A bucket hat protected his head from being hit by the sun's rays while a pair of Ray Bans gave shade to his vision. He was smiling at the prospect of seeing McKayla's beach fit as he paraded through the sand. When he found her, she was linking an arm with another male camper. Zoren grew suspicious, letting this gut feeling walk briskly towards the group. Approaching the young man, he was looking straight at his face before shooting a glance towards their linked arms. No one else may have seen the latter as his head was anchored in his direction. "Scored yourself another set of ladies, eh Levi?" He was smiling but the expression was dripping with sarcasm. "Can you introduce me to your latest conquests?"

[Tristan Damaris Rare]

"I'm happy to see you too." Tristan beamed at her in return, actively matching her energy. He may still be less assertive to others but for a particular child of Demeter, it was like seeing an entirely different person. Thinking about it now, it is almost time for her to head back to her family for the season and continue her school. The thought of her leaving brought upon grimaced expression as he was getting dressed for the beach earlier but he did not want to think about it now and let it sour his mood,. Looking over at the groups of campers already setting up their spots in their proximities, he turned to her and answered without hesitation. "I think we should go a little bit farther from that area." He glanced over to the forming crowd. He very much wouldn't prefer not letting others ruin their first firework experience together.

Tristan's hand held a firm grasp to Dahlia's wrist as he led them away from the bandwagon but still close enough to be approached by those who can put in the effort to walk the distance like their half-siblings or friends. Halting on an open sand space, he walked around an imaginary square. "Hmm... this should be good." The boy snapped and an entire beach set appeared in front of them with a sunset color scheme. Umbrella to cover them, a blanket for them to settle, a cooler for drinks and some snacks on a small wooden table. "If it's too much, let me know. Too little, I can add more. The logic behind this magic is quite something." 

[Levi Jones Rare]

Levi laughed when this little boy walked up to him, he definitely didn't have the looks that Levi did. "Introduce you to MK, I thought you already knew each other" Levi smirked and looked at MK "Wow, so does he not want to admit that your his gf, how sad" he says with a sinister smile. Having this little boy here, made him unlink his arm, he moved between both the girls, unlatching their arms, and processed to wrap his arms around both their waist pulling them in "Well, This is MK, and this other sexi girl is her friend, What's your name sweetie?" he questions the friend. Levi loved to make another guy jealous, it was hilarious to him. Smiling at the boy, with both girls wrapped in his arms "Who did you come here with?" he questions him, with a smirk and narrowed eyes.

[Luca Cassano]

Luca was occupied tending to his mother's cabin, cleaning up while everyone else is gone. It just dawned on him that he would like to do this and take initiative but if someone else asks him to do it, he changes the subject. But to clean up a grassy floor can only be done if you treat it like it's your lawn. He took the time to take out the weeds. They may be grass inside a goddess's cabin but they're still grass. Then he took care of the plants in the front porch and plucked some tomatoes from the vines to make the walls look cleaner. The tomatoes grown here would either be given to the dryads for food preparation or to be sold along with their abundance to restaurants. It's safe to say that the entire cabin is practically a green house when whatever is grown here is given ample sunlight and protection from pests. Though as he was cleaning, there was something that he always felt he was forgetting since he woke up this morning. In a calendar hung near his bunk bed is a note in front of the today's date.

Fireworks Night w Laney! and friends.

The note is surrounded by little ornaments in no part to his burst of creativity. It was obvious he was looking forward to it but all it takes is one look at it before he can be aware of what he was forgetting. Once he finished making his bed, a glance was finally shot over the calendar and bringing about a wide eyed expression. "That's right! Today was the fireworks day." Quickly getting dressed into his beach clothes, he left the cabin in quite a hurry and pranced towards the beach. 

[McKayla Johnson]

The look of dislike came across her face when Levi called her beautiful, like ewwwww he was just gross she thought as she saw he looked at her sisters. Pointing to herself "With me? You must be mistaken. I would NEVER be with you honey....I have a boyfriend" she said quickly as he linked arms with her. The look she gave him was one of disgust. That was when Laney walked up to her. Linking arms with her too, making her smile as she was happy she was here. "Hey Laney, it is good to see you." But with Levi next statement she laughed shaking her head "As if" she got out before she then saw Zoren come up to them. Smiling as she saw him, it was his words that made her look at Zoren with confusion. He was of course making a joke but with Levi it just gave him even more power to try and embarrass them all. 

MK began to hold her breathe as she hadn't told Zoren just yet about what happened with Levi taking her top. What if he said something now? Would Zoren be pissed? Trying to unlink herself from Levi, why didn't she try to do this earlier? Just the thought of Levi's hands on her skin made it crawl. Feeling herself begin to go red "Noooo that isn't what he meant you jerk" she said in a low voice as she felt the burn of that comment. Zoren was not embarrassed of her right? But this thought made her not realize that Levi had moved in between them and grabbed her by the waist. "Please stop touching me" she said as she could feel his strength as she tried to get his grip off of her. "HER NAME IS LANEY.......you idiot....or are you so full of yourself you only know the people you fuck" she said with venom in her voice. Looking at Zoren with pledding eyes she knew this looked bad but she wasn't with Levi...he had to know that. She was with him forever and always......"He is with me" she got out as she tried to wiggle her way out of his grip. 

[Delaney Vance]

Laney was just waiting on MK to say something else when all of a sudden Levi started in on her. She couldn't help but blink a little as he walked around and looped arms with her. Her face turned the brightest pink it could before she burred herself closer to MK, not wanting to get caught up in anything else she turned her head away only to hear Zoren's comment. She blinked a little and turned to see him smiling though she could tell that there was something else there. She couldn't put her finger on. She blinked again however, when Levi called her sexy and she went to open her mouth but nothing came out at all. That was when MK came out and said her name and she couldn't help but try and pull her arm away from Levi. It was then that she caught Luca walk to the beach. "LUCA!" she called to him in hope that he could come and help her out. She so wanted out of this spot. 

[Mateo Sanz Rare]

It was getting closer to night and the time of day that he loved the most. The time of day that he could totally get away with more of his magic and he finally had a smile on his face. He was walking with some of his siblings trying to find some of the people that he would normally hang out with. When he got to the beach he noticed Levi and a couple others that were there. He smirked and shook his head. Brining up his hand to let him know that he was out there and if he wanted to come over he was more than welcome. He was pretty sure that his sister was going to be following soon. Not that he didn't want her around. She was always fun to be around during certain activities but he didn't want her to think that they were more than just what the contract said they were. He found himself a spot in the sand and sat down there. Letting the cold sand go through his fingers while he waited for Levi to get done with what he was doing. 

[Octavia Davis Rare]

The giggle that came from Octavia was one of excitement. She couldn't believe that she had gotten Derrick of all people to play with her. Not saying that he wouldn't but still. He was slightly moody sometimes. Though lighter when he was around with her. When she stopped he caught her attention and her was so close to her. She giggled again. "Sorry about that." She smiled at him and turned to listen to James but soon he was done and she turned to Derrick with a smile on her face when he asked if she wanted to sit together. "OH of course!" she told him happily as she grabbed his hand and pulled him along the beach till the found the perfect spot. Close to James but not so close at the same time. "James. I'm over here." She told her big brother with a smile before another older man grabbed her attention. "Mr. Killian!" She greeted him with a bright smile. 

[Dustin Graves Rare]

The beach, Fireworks, and fall time. All good things if Dustin had a say in it. He walked with his cabin to the beach where cabin 9 was going to be fulfilling the roles they always did. He gave a nod to those that he knew before going to sit with his siblings and waiting for the fireworks to start. He had noticed the younger campers running around and he couldn't help but smirk seeing how much they have grown since he has last helped them. Both Octavia and Derrick. He shook his head when his brother asked him if something was wrong and he looked at his hand in the sand. Nothing really worth wild. Yet, though he was still curious to know if he would see Krystal there.   

[Willow Iris Hazelwood]

Willow was still kind of reeling from the sudden influx of attention she'd had since that party at the Dionysus cabin. She wasn't sure why she was going to the fireworks. Big crowds had gotten her in trouble last time, she doubted she would have better luck this time. As she arrived, she looked for her sister, Larissa. Seeing the older sister, she waved at her with a smile and started heading over that way. From where she was at, with the sun down over that horizon, she couldn't really tell who the older sibling was talking to. When she arrived, however, she froze.

Killian. She thought to herself. He was everywhere these days. It's like he's following you. The thought passed through her mind. She didn't know how she felt about that. He wasn't a bad guy, but the attention he was giving her lately made her uncomfortable. Not because she didn't find him attractive. She certainly did. But he had a reputation for being a love 'em and leave 'em guy. That was not something Willow was interested in. She was a very wholesome girl who had barely gone on a few dates in her life. She wasn't the kind that would allow for a one night stand. He'll lose interest soon enough...
